This variant is known to spread easier and faster and is circulating in the state of California. To deal with variant B.1.1.7 it is essential that people stay at least six feet away from others and wear face masks when they are near people who do not live with them.

These measures limit the spread of the virus and known variants, in addition to reducing the likelihood of a sudden increase in cases of this variant, says the statement.
