When does a quiet place 2 come out on Paramount plus?

But Paramount pledged to make some of its big-screen movies available to stream after they spent 30 to 45 days in theaters, a much quicker turnaround than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Quiet Place Part 2 was among the movies on this track, and its May 28 release set up a Paramount Plus release date Monday. The sequel to writer-director John Krasinski's 2018 horror hit was expected to land on streaming platforms sometime this month, but this welcome bit of good news came as a somewhat sudden surprise with little notice. In March, ViacomCBS revealed that Paramount's big movies--such A Quiet Place: Part II--will debut on the streaming service 45 days after their theatrical releases. In related news, Paramount also announced that the sci-fi action movie Infinite would skip theaters entirely and debut on Paramount+ in June. The film, which stars Mark Wahlberg, was previously set for a release in September. So this is likely to become more of a thing, overall.

As franchise fans know, Krasinski's character Lee didn't make it out of the first movie alive, and this sequel focuses on his widow Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and their two kids (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe), fighting to survive in this dangerous world. A Quiet Place: Part II also stars Djimon Hounsou and Cillian Murphy.

In June, it was announced that Paramount will be making a third movie in the series--being described as a spin-off--slated for a 2023 release. The new film is written and directed by Jeff Nichols, who previously directed Mud and Midnight Special. It's releasing March 31, 2023.

Director John Krasinski leads Millicent Simmonds through harrowing chase scene in exclusive A Quiet Place Part II clip

Yahoo Lifestyle 13 July, 2021 - 09:16am

“They’re not very welcome guests” Krasinski says of the perilous scene. “So this whole set is killing and running our family to get to that vat in the floor as fast as we can without dying.”

In the exclusive clip, Krasinski works with deaf actor Millicent Simmonds, guiding her through jumping in the rusted vat on the floor. With the help of an ASL translator, Krasinski tells Simmonds that even though the scene “looks great on camera,” she only has to make the jump if she feels ready.

It’s one of many chase scenes in the film, as the family faces fearsome aliens that attack anything that makes a sound. Emily Blunt returns as Evelyn Simmonds, leading her family after Krasinski’s character sacrifices himself to save his family in the first film. Cillian Murphy takes on the role of hardened survivor Lee.

Even as the pandemic entered 2021, A Quiet Place Part II became one of the major blockbusters of the year, bringing many moviegoers to the theaters p for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Following its theater-exclusive debut in May, A Quiet Place Part II became the first movie to pass the $100 million mark in the box office since March of last year, now sitting at $150 million. Even though the first A Quiet Place reeled in $350 million in 2018, its successor remains the top grossing film of the year so far, followed by F9.

A Quiet Place Part II is available to stream on Paramount+ starting today.

A Quiet Place Part 2 gets surprise early Paramount Plus streaming release

Polygon 13 July, 2021 - 09:16am

The movie arrived just over 45 days after it debuted in theaters

A Quiet Place Part II takes place directly after the events of the first movie with what remains of the Abbott family on the run from sound-sensing alien invaders. The sequel is once again directed by John Krasinski and this time stars Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy.

The film moves to the streaming service at the close of Paramount’s new, shorter theatrical window, which stipulates that movies have to go at least 45 days between their theatrical debut and their arrival on Paramount Plus. Paramount is just one of a handful of studios experimenting with streaming distribution and theatrical exclusivity in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and the industry shift has prompted theater chains to renegotiate their windowing agreements to a shorter period.

For now it seems that Paramount Plus will be the only place that users can stream the new horror movie for the time being. Unfortunately, despite the fact that Paramount has sold several movies to Netflix in the past, it’s unlikely that A Quiet Place Part II will arrive on any streaming services other than Paramount Plus in the near future.

A Quiet Place Part II is available to all Paramount Plus subscribers, including those that use the service’s $4.99 ad-supported option, as well as its $9.99 ad-free version.

Exclusive: John Krasinski digs into the monsters' origins and evolution in 'A Quiet Place Part II' clip

SYFY WIRE 13 July, 2021 - 09:16am

If you weren’t ready or able to return to theaters to see how Evelyn Abbott’s (Emily Blunt) family, and the rest of humanity, were faring in the aftermath of those very sound-sensitive aliens invading our planet, then get excited because SYFY WIRE has an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip to entice you to stay quiet and dive back into this world.

The sequel film continues the story of the surviving Abbott clan, with Evelyn (Blunt), Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe) and still tiny youngest addition, on the move. As they embark into the outside world meeting other survivors, the family quickly discover that the monsters are not the only threat to them. New additions to the cast include Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

And in case you didn't know, with the success of A Quiet Place Part II already, the unexpected franchise will continue to have legs as director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Midnight Special) is confirmed to be making a spin-off film taking place in the same universe with Krasinski executive producing.

For those who still love physical media, A Quiet Place Part II arrives on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray and DVD July 27 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

A Quiet Place II ending, explained: No post-credits scene, but some sequel hints

CNET 13 July, 2021 - 08:37am

The nerve-shredding A Quiet Place Part II landed on Paramount Plus Tuesday, bringing director John Krasinski's horror sequel to streaming audiences. The movie picks up right after the events of the 2018 original as surviving members of the Abbott family figure out how to get by in a world overrun by terrifying monsters that relentlessly hunt down any sound.

Let's be very, very quiet as we take a look at where they end up. There's no post-credits scene, but we'll also sound out the possibilities for sequels set in this universe. Whispered SPOILERS ahead.

Deaf survivor Regan Abbott (Millicent Simmonds) and new ally Emmett (Cillian Murphy) discover an island populated by survivors living normal lives. Djimon Hounsou's character (who's credited as Man on Island) reveals that authorities quickly realized the creatures can't swim, so they tried to evacuate people across water from the mainland. The creatures were right behind them, however, so people panicked and only a few made it to the islands.

Unfortunately, one of the creatures bobs out to this island on the boat Regan and Emmett had their eye on, turning the safe haven into a hell. Regan, Emmett and Man lead the beastie to the island's radio station -- the source of the repeated broadcast of Bobby Darin's Beyond the Sea that led them to the island.

The creature quickly turns Man on Island into Man in Pieces, leaving Regan and Emmet to save the day. Regan uses her cochlear implant, which uses electric signals to give her a modified sense of sound, to exploit the weakness she discovered in the previous movie. She blasts feedback through the building's speakers making the creature disorientated and vulnerable. Regan then seizes the opportunity to beat it to death, making the island safe once again.

Back at the steel mill, Evelyn and Marcus Abbott (Emily Blunt and Noah Jupe) try to survive an assault by one of the creatures, while protecting the baby. It's all immensely stressful, and it looks like they're screwed.

Conveniently enough, Marcus has been listening to the looped Beyond the Sea on their radio -- either listening out for Regan's progress or to distract from the agony of getting his ankle caught in a bear trap earlier. Hearing the broadcast feedback, he turns the radio on the creature -- which is enough to kill it.

Basically, Regan is this franchise's MVP.
