The stench of Ashton Kutcher's showering controversy continued to linger this weekend, months after he and wife Mila Kunis admitted they're not fans of frequent bathing.

The 43-year-old actor got an earful while making an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay in Ames, Iowa on Saturday.

Football fans effectively drowned out Ashton's commentary as they chanted 'Take a shower' while he tried to talk football.

Kutcher was chosen as a guest picker for Saturday's games, which included the matchup between his alma mater, the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

The chanting started up as soon as the That 70s show star arrived by jet at the Jack Thrice Stadium, home of the Cyclones, and was announced as the celebrity guest picker.

The crowd continued to heckle Ashton as he joined the pre-game panel. After briefly quieting down, the fans booed when Kutcher predicted the Colorado Buffaloes would defeat the Texas A&M Aggies.

The rowdy chorus resumed and drowned out parts of Ashton's commentary when he picked the Texas Longhorns to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks and when he chose the Buckeyes over the Cyclones.

Though the fans' taunting was clearly audible throughout the entirety of the live TV broadcast, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native appeared unfazed.

However, Ashton's pick was proved right when his alma mater defeated Iowa State with a final score of 27-17.

The couple kicked off the public conversation about celebrity hygiene during a podcast appearance in July, with Ashton telling Armchair Expert host Dax Shepard: 'I wash my armpits and crotch daily and nothing else ever.'

Mila said she washes her 'slits and t**s' and also revealed that she did not bathe her children 'everyday' when they were infants.

Following their revelation, a number of celebrities including Jake Gyllenhaal, Kristen Bell, Cardi B, Jason Momoa and Dwayne Johnson weighed on the controversy and shared their own bathing habits.

Ashton and Mila later poked fun at the debacle when Kutcher posted a video in which he reacted incredulously as Kunis bathed their children, Wyatt six, and Dimitri, four.

Ashton Kutcher Drowned Out by "Take a Shower" Chants on Live TV Broadcast of College Football Game

Yahoo Entertainment 13 September, 2021 - 10:00am

On Saturday, Sept. 11, the 43-year-old That '70s Show alum served as a guest picker for ESPN's College GameDay, appearing with the show's co-hosts at their desk at Jack Trice Stadium in his home state of Iowa, just before the game between home team the Iowa State Cyclones and his alma mater The University of Iowa's Hawkeyes.

As the actor spoke, his voice was partially drowned out by the sound of scores of fans chanting behind them, "Take a shower!" Watch a video of the incident, which went viral.

Kutcher did not respond to the chants and appeared unbothered by them at the event, which took place a month and a half after he and wife Mila Kunis raised eyebrows with comments made about their bathing habits on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast.

The actress and fellow That '70s Show alum said she doesn't wash her body with soap every day, adding, "I wash pits and tits and holes and soles."

Kutcher said, "I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever," adding, "I got a bar of Lever 2000 that just delivers every time. Nothing else."

Kunis, who shares daughter Wyatt, 6, and son Dimitri, 4, with Kutcher, also said on the podcast, "When I had children, I also didn't wash them every day. I wasn't the parent that bathed my newborns—ever." The actor then added, "Here's the thing—if you can see the dirt on 'em, clean 'em. Otherwise, there's no point."

A couple weeks later, after much mockery online, Kutcher shared a light-hearted video of him and Kunis laughing off the controversy that ensued by demonstrating that they are indeed bathing their kids.

On Saturday morning the ESPN College GameDay crew didn't have much positive to say about the LSU Tigers football program.

Ashton Kutcher Bombarded With 'Take a Shower' Chant at Football Game

Entertainment Tonight 12 September, 2021 - 02:07pm

Ashton Kutcher learned as much when he made an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay on Saturday, joining the broadcasting team in support of his hometown University of Iowa as they faced off against in-state rivals Iowa State.

The game was held on Iowa State's field, however, which meant the Ames crowd was less-than-friendly about Kutcher's endorsement of the Hawkeyes. And they came prepared, drowning out his commentary with an echoing chant: "Take a shower!"

The hilarious chant is in reference to Kutcher and wife Mila Kunis famously getting flack from fans and followers after stating that they don't bathe their children until "you can see the dirt on them" during a July episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast.

Kutcher and Kunis poked fun at the backlash in a goofy social media video last month, in which Kutcher pretended to freak out as his kids took a bath.

"That's like the fourth time this week. Four times this week," Kutcher exclaims in the clip. "It's too much," Kunis agrees, cracking up.

"Their body oils are gonna be destroyed. What are you trying to do?" the worried father wonders out loud.
