'Big Brother 23': Houseguests Complain That Only 6 Veto Chips Were in Bag, Believe It Was 'Influenced'
11 July, 2021 - 08:02pm
Many Big Brother fans have noticed certain houseguests managed to get picked for nearly every Power of Veto competition, which cast members supposedly choose randomly from a bag, such as BB20’s Tyler Crispen. Therefore, conspiracy theories have circulated that producers might interfere with the selections. Season 23 houseguests seemingly confirmed it by noting there were only six Veto chips to choose from in their conversations.
Shortly after entering the house, Head of Household Frenchie began making alliances and revealing targets. He initially planned on going after Brent because he didn’t want to follow the trend of a woman or person of color exiting the house first.
However, Frenchie spoke to Brent and bonded with him over a shared experience. Therefore, he went after another “bro” stereotype, Christian, but had to shift his sights when he won safety in the Wildcard competition.
The Jokers’ captain then wanted to nominate Derek X. because he thought he was a “guys’ guy” and knew he formed a close relationship with Travis.
Additionally, he claimed “little Derek” created alliances to target him. Instead of initially putting him on the block, Frenchie wanted to nominate two women and backdoor Derek X. The new HOH then went rogue and placed Alyssa and Kyland on the block because he thought the former and Chrisitan could become a showmance.
After creating the Slaughterhouse alliance that included his nominees and Derek F., Christian, Xavier, Whitney, and Brent, the HOH wanted to use the Power of Veto to complete his backdoor plan. He believed they had the votes to evict Derek X. if they could throw the Veto to Alyssa to remove herself from the block.
The following day, Frenchie and his nominees picked others to play in the Veto competition randomly from a bag. In addition to those three, Derek X., Tiffany, and Travis were chosen to compete.
Afterward, Kyland spoke with Travis about the possibility of Derek X. winning the Veto, and Kyland noted he “didn’t love the fact that there were six chips in there.” Travis agreed, calling it “a plan,” with Kyland adding “influence.”
Other houseguests, including Claire, Britni, and Christian, also pointed out the shortage of Veto chips and thought America might have voted for a certain number of players to get put into the bag.
Frenchie called it “the worst scenario possible” as no one else from his Slaughterhouse alliance would play, and Derek X. had the potential to save himself. If he won, Kyland and Alyssa would likely stay on the block.
Even though a few houseguests have noted they would want to keep Alyssa, including Frenchie and his now-close ally Brent, many have already promised Kyland their votes, such as Sarah, Tiffany, Derek F., and Azah.
Feeds returned after the veto player pick. Frenchie said "oh my God, the worst possible scenario" #BB23
Therefore, Alyssa, who Frenchie nominated because he thought she would get into a showmance with Christian, would likely become the first boot.
Big Brother airs on CBS.

First Veto spoilers of the season for Big Brother this summer as Frenchie’s bizarro world approach of targeting, retargeting, nominating, and retargeting again has set us up with some potentially interesting scenarios around the next few turns. Read on for the latest Big Brother spoilers.
Frenchie put Alyssa and Kyland on the Block and not an hour later was regretting his decision and shifting back to Derek X as his must-go target for the week. Sure, that’s likely to change by Thursday, but for now we need to see how the latest Power of Veto comp would play into this mess made by Frenchie.
Players today were Frenchie as HOH and his noms Alyssa and Kyland plus drawn/picked players Derek X, Tiffany, and Travis. So how’d that work out for the HOH?
Ahahah! I won’t even say, “Poor Frenchie” because that guy did this to himself. Now Derek is initially saying that he’ll use it on Kyland and we could end up with two women on the Block, exactly what Frenchie promised would NOT happen this week.
Wait, wait. Now Frenchie is promising several women that they’re safe this week from renom and he needs their help to vote out the male renom. Sooo, Travis? We’ll keep watching and learn more.

Big Brother 23 Live Feeds: Power of Veto Plans for Week 1
Big Brother 23 Live Feeds Week 1: Saturday Highlights
11 July, 2021 - 08:02pm
“Big Brother 23” launched Wednesday with a live 90-minute premiere, and now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to get into the usual triple-episode weekly groove. And usual it will be as the show till maintain its Sunday/Wednesday/Thursday broadcast rotation. Here’s how it breaks down (all times ET):
And onward we go. It’s really that simple — for now. Things will get complicated again in September once the football season kicks off (no pun intended) and CBS will have double-headers on Sundays, but we’re all used to that by now. In recent years, there has been a special Friday episode in the middle of the season, so we’ll see if that happens again.
Last year, because the season started in August and ran until the end of October, the show’s Sunday’s episodes shifted to Mondays for the last month to make way for CBS Sunday Night Movies, but we’re gonna go out on a limb and say that’s not gonna happen this year. Season 23 likely will end in September as usual, and since it started in July — the first July premiere since Season 14 in 2012 — the season will likely last around 75 days like the past July seasons. That’ll be down considerably from the marathon 99-day installments we’ve had in recent, non-COVID-impacted years.

Brandon “Frenchie” French has opened up on the “Big Brother” 23 live feeds about the son he lost five years ago. He has several things in the house to honor his son Westin’s memory. Here’s what Frenchie has said about the tragic loss so far in the “Big Brother” house.
Frenchie’s son passed away due to medical reasons on April 12, 2016. He only got to hold him for a short while before he took his last breath in his arms. This impacted their family deeply & what motivates him to be the best version of himself everyday. #bb23 #farmerfrenchie pic.twitter.com/Nyz8CYzcFP

Based on his Twitter account, it looks like Frenchie has three other living children, two girls and a boy.

Before the show began, whoever is manning Frenchie’s Twitter posted a little information about Westin’s death along with a photo of Frenchie holding his son in the hospital. It sounds like the baby boy died shortly after birth.
“Frenchie’s son passed away due to medical reasons on April 12, 2016. He only got to hold him for a short while before he took his last breath in his arms. This impacted their family deeply & what motivates him to be the best version of himself everyday,” wrote the Twitter account.
It’s hard to believe my son would have been starting kindergarten this year😔 HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby boy we think about you every day. Your daddy misses you SO much. I’ll be sending a balloon with a kiss to you up in heaven. My heart always cuts wide open today 😭 pic.twitter.com/t8C9WlgrFa

On April 12, 2021, Frenchie wrote on Twitter, “It’s hard to believe my son would have been starting kindergarten this year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby boy we think about you every day. Your daddy misses you SO much. I’ll be sending a balloon with a kiss to you up in heaven. My heart always cuts wide open today.”
On April 23, 2020, Frenchie remembered Westin on Instagram, writing, “Today is my sons birthday who passed away. Westin you will always be missed and loved. Happy birthday! Your dad loves you. I know you are watching over us today.”
It looks like the familiy put a rock in their front flower bed with a poem on it to remember their son.
In the “Big Brother” house, shortly after Frenchie got the keys to his HOH room, he told the houseguests a little bit about what happened.
“I don’t ever get like emotional, I just don’t … but when I start talking about my son, that’s a totally different thing,” said Frenchie. “At the end of the day, all somebody has to do is say ‘tell me about your son’ and I’m instantly a baby, tears start pouring down. Even though it’s been five years, it still hurts. No parent should ever have to bury their child.”
But he added, “It made me a better person because I wasn’t always the best person in the world and I’m still not, but it taught me that life is too damn short.”
Later that same day, Thursday, July 8, he was talking to Brent about it and opened up about how painful the loss was and why he wears a necklace as a token of remembrance.
“Everybody is like ‘why do you wear that necklace, why do you talk about your son so much?’ And it’s just because when you do hold your child in your hand, it’s a love that you can’t even really put into words and then when you lose that, it’s like a whole different — there’s pain and then there’s feeling like your heart has literally been ripped out of your chest. And I’ve felt that pain, so I know that no matter what I go through in this house, it’ll never even come close to comparing how down I was,” said Frenchie.
“Big Brother” season 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

The first Head of Household of Big Brother 23, Frenchie French, confused the house when he went rogue and nominated Kyland Young and Alyssa Lopez. He later claimed he wanted a “big fish” and planned to backdoor Derek Xiao. However, the Power of Veto winner foiled his plans.
Quickly after his Jokers’ team won the first Head of Household competition, Brendon “Frenchie” French began trying to align with people and exposed his targets.
He told a few houseguests that he wanted to break the trend of a woman or person of color going home first every season and planned to target the “alpha male” types in the house. Therefore, he intended to go after Brent Champagne but changed his mind due to a deep conversation.
Frenchie nominated Alyssa and Kyland for eviction #BB23
Still targeting “bros,” he briefly shifted toward Christian Birkenberger until he won safety in the Wildcard competition. Frenchie then went after Derek Xiao, considering him a “guys’ guy,” but wanted to pull off a big move and backdoor him.
Therefore, he claimed he wanted to nominate two women but went rogue and put Kyland Young and Alyssa Lopez on the block. According to the Head of Household, his new target is Alyssa because he believed she would get into a showmance with Christian. After pleading her case following her nomination, Frenchie hatched a plan to backdoor Derek X.
The HOH met with his newly formed Slaughterhouse alliance, including his nominees, Christian, Brent, Derek Frazier, Xavier Prather, and Whitney Williams.
The group conspired on throwing Alyssa the Veto so she could pull herself off the block, and Frenchie would nominate Derek X. instead, believing they had the votes to evict him over Kyland.
The following day, the HOH and his nominees randomly picked the other houseguests who would compete against them for the Power of Veto. They chose Tiffany Mitchell, Travis Long, and Derek X.
Frenchie walked away, calling it the “worst scenario possible” as none of his allies were picked for the Veto. Ultimately, Derek X. won the Power of Veto, guaranteeing his safety.
Because Frenchie claimed Derek X. made up lies about others and placed them in alliances, many houseguests turned against him, namely Brent. Additionally, his winning foiled the HOH’s grand backdoor plan.
Before the competition, Alyssa spoke with Derek X. about using the Veto on her if he won, promising him safety when she becomes HOH. While he didn’t agree to anything, he heard her out and asked her to wait until after the competition.
Frenchie and his now-close ally Brent have noted they would rather Kyland exit over Alyssa if nominations stayed the same, but Kyland seems to have the votes.
If Derek X. uses the Veto on Alyssa, it’s currently unclear who Frenchie will put up as a replacement. However, he has previously named “alpha male”-type Travis as a possibility. Big Brother airs on CBS.

Now that the nominees have been named, it is Power of Veto Day inside the Big Brother house! There was a huge fallout after the Nomination Ceremony on Friday, which not only made for great feeds but also put a plan in place for most of the Big Brother 23 houseguests.
Frenchie realized shortly after the Nomination Ceremony, where he nominated Kyland and Alyssa for eviction, that he may have nominated Alyssa based on false information. Frenchie was under the impression that Christian and Alyssa were super close and that Christian was coming for him. Since Christian is safe for the week, thanks to the Wildcard Competition, Frenchie thought that going after Alyssa was the next best move.
After talking with Alyssa, Christian, Derek F, Britini, and Azah Friday, he realized that Christian and Alyssa weren’t as close as he thought they were. The reason Frenchie thought that they were close was that HGs kept coming to him and telling him that the two of them were forming alliances and that they were all coming for him. Most of these rumors stemmed from things that Derek X has said to other HGs and that’s where the POV plan comes into play.
After making the bad decision of targeting Alyssa, Frenchie went to his closest allies and asked them all to use the POV if they should win it. Whitney, Brent, Christian, and Hannah were all amongst the people who said they would use the POV if they won it. The plan from there would be to backdoor Derek X.
With the Power of Veto Players joining Frenchie, Kyland, and Alyssa being Derek X, Travis, and Tiffany, this could put a damper on Frenchie’s plan to target Derek X if Derek X should go on to win the comp. Derek X and Travis both know that they could end up on the block if Kyland or Alyssa come down, so I’m curious to see what happens if they win. Make sure you come back later for POV Comp spoilers to find out who wins!
