Big Brother 23 Week 2 has officially kicked off with Kyland as the new Head of Household. And since Kyland is in two pretty sizable alliances, and a part of a team he cannot nominate, his options this week are very slim. And then there’s the safety competition … Read on to find out what Kyland might do and what the rest of the house thinks he might do.

If you’ve got the Live Feeds (Free Trial) then you can watch all of these moments with the Flashback feature to go back and watch those important conversations or funny scenes you may have missed.

9:08 PM BBT – Feeds return after the PST episode finished. Britini is talking about being a have-not this week.

9:09 PM BBT – Alyssa and Derek X say they feel OK about Kyland being HOH.

9:10 PM BBT – Alyssa asks Derek X who he thinks is trying to frame him with the votes. He says he’s not sure if they are. Alyssa says she thinks someone is trying to frame him and someone else like Claire. Derek doesn’t understand why there were two rogue votes.

9:11 PM BBT – Tiffany and Azah are celebrating because they’re safe this week. Azah says Brent controlled Frenchie’s HOH and got not blood on his hand. Tiffany says French talks too much.

9:12 PM BBT – Azah says she wants Day 1 Frenchie back. Tiffany agrees. They aren’t happy with him after his HOH reign. Azah says she thinks it’s funny that Brent and and Whitney are suddenly wanting to talk game now that Kyland is HOH.

9:13 PM BBT – Tiffany is a bit upset and missing her son. Azah comforts her. The two of them agree to not be seen talking to each other too much this week.

9:25 PM BBT – Tiffany cam talks that she wants Brent out. She says that in front of Christian and Derek X.

9:26 PM BBT – Kyland is going over who he can nominate in his head. Hannah asks how he is doing, and he says he’s good and she and The Cookout have nothing to worry about this week.

9:30 PM BBT – Brent tells Xaiver that Frenchie needs to let Kyland make his own decisions.

9:31 PM BBT – Brent says he doesn’t know why Big D wanted to take credit for one of the rogue votes when he didn’t even do it. Xavier says he had suspicions there would be a rogue vote but not two.

9:32 PM BBT – Brent says that one of the rogue votes wanted to stay anonymous. Brent says Big D wanted to take the fall so maybe it was him. Then he said the other was maybe Frenchie (which is impossible).

9:37 PM BBT – Frenchie tells Azah he had a hell of a week and says some of it was self-inflicted and some of it was brought on by others. He says ultimately he made the right decision and the right person went home.

9:40 PM BBT – Brent tells Xaiver that he really did trust Frenchie and still does, but has to be wary now.

9:43 PM BBT – Xavier asks Brent if he feels good with Kyland. Brent says at one point he was worried about him but now he feels OK now. Whitney joins Brent and Xaiver and they wonder who he can nominate. They say Kyland’s only options are Britni, Derek X and Hannah (because everyone else is on his team or in the Slaughterhouse alliance).

9:57 PM BBT – Kyland tells Sarah Beth that he’s not going to tell anyone else this but she’s not going up and has nothing to worry about. He says Frenchie told almost everyone they were safe and he doesn’t want to make that same mistake.

10:01 PM BBT – Britini talking to Azah about noms. She’s worried. They really want Frenchie to win the Wildcard competition so they have a shot at safety. Azah tells Britini to just chill out until after the conception and take it one day at a time. She says she wants everyone to chill and enjoy the chill. She says she wants Day 1 energy.

10:03 PM BBT – Britini says Kyland is pulling people in rooms and that’s the opposite of what he said he was going to do.

10:10 PM BBT – Britini and Azah are annoyed with Frenchie. They agree he talks too much and that it is having an impact on their team. Britini says Frenchie needs to win that competition and says he owes her because he put her in that girls + Frenchie alliance when she wasn’t even there.

10:30 PM BBT – Tiffany cam talking that she threw that rogue vote to show him that she wants to work with him. She says if she didn’t do it, it could have caused problems. She says that Frenchie and Brent are dangerous and that she’s onto Frenchie and he’s on her radar. She says she would love to see Frenchie and Brent on the block this week.

10:50 PM BBT – Christian tells Alyssa about the Slaughterhouse alliance.

11:05 PM BBT – Hannah and Derek X worry about being framed with those two hinky votes.

11:20 PM BBT – Frenchie tells Tiffany he’s sure he’ll go up or be a BD target this week unless someone talks Kyland out of the idea.

11:30 PM BBT – Christian promises Alyssa he didn’t vote against her (it was Tiffany and DF).

11:40 PM BBT – Christian tells Xavier that he trusts him but does not trust Frenchie or DF.

11:45 PM BBT – Time for Kyland’s HOH room.

12:10 AM BBT – After everyone else leaves Derek X tells Kyland that the house is nervous. Kyland says he’ll have his talks tomorrow and won’t do his HOH like Frenchie did.

12:20 AM BBT – Tiffany warns Claire they could both be the targets. Tiffany doesn’t like how close Brent and Frenchie have become.

12:25 AM BBT – Kings team tells Kyland they plan to do a draw for their WC player this week since they all feel good.

12:30 AM BBT – Christian recommends Kyland wait until after WC to pick a target.

12:40 AM BBT – Hannah is upset about being a Have-Not this week.

12:50 AM BBT – Tiffany shares that Frenchie’s team has decided to let him play for the WC safety.

1:15 AM BBT – Tiffany warns Kyland that there’s a big power in the house. She suggests they could bring in Derek X. Tiffany says Kyland has support from his team plus DX and Sarah. She also thinks they can get Azah and Xavier with them too.

1:55 AM BBT – Azah doesn’t understand the stressing of the hinky votes because Travis still went home.

2:00 AM BBT – Frenchie tells Azah that he was told he’s good right now but he doesn’t believe it.

2:10 AM BBT – Tiffany tells Claire there are three strong women, the two of them plus Whitney but Whitney is tied up with Frenchie. They suspect Kyland may nominate Britini. Tiffany thinks they should get DX on their side and let him know he’s on the outside with Frenchie.

2:30 AM BBT – DX shares with Claire and Tiffany that he thinks the house is split 7 vs 8 right now. Derek warns that the guys will push hard this week to get a woman out this time.

3:15 AM BBT – DX, Claire, and Tiffany have been continuing their game talk. He says Frenchie doesn’t trust Kyland and how Frenchie was pressuring him to use the Veto on Alyssa the night before the Veto meeting. Tiffany expects Frenchie to try and sow doubt and chaos around the house.

3:30 AM BBT – Tiffany says she doesn’t care if Frenchie hasn’t said her name yet because he could flip at any moment. They head to bed.

Kyland may end up having a much different HOH week than Frenchie if he sticks to playing it quiet and calmly. We’ve got the Wildcard comp ahead on Friday followed by noms tonight. Who do you think will be on the Block next?

‘Big Brother': First Evictee Mocked for Saying the ‘White Guy With Abs’ Is Always First to Go

Yahoo Entertainment 15 July, 2021 - 09:05pm

“Big Brother” has evicted its first houseguest of the season and the unlucky player is … Travis. But uh, he may need a reality check on why it happened.

During his live eviction interview, “Big Brother” host Julie Chen asked Travis where he thinks things went wrong for his gameplay. And apparently, in Travis’ mind, his eviction came down to his looks, and the nail in the coffin was the fact that he gave his final plea speech to the rest of the house while shirtless.

“I mean, I always heard it was like, the white guy with abs that kind of gets conked first,” he answered. “And so, I kind of had that superstition going in.”

At that, “Big Brother” fans couldn’t help but be incredulous. “Lighting a candle tonight for all the White Guys With Abs (WGWA) out there. When will the madness stop?!” one person tweeted.

The comment is especially surprising considering the uproar after the first HOH, Frenchie, made a point to promise his housemates that no women or people of color would be nominated for eviction on his watch — in a direct effort to break what’s become a cycle on the show — and then doing the exact opposite.

Granted, the houseguests cannot see fan reactions on social media, having virtually no access to the outside world while in the house.

For the most part, fans were just trying to figure out where/when exactly Travis was given that impression.

WHEN has the white guy with abs ever been first?! It’s usually a woman, POC, or older person. #bb23 pic.twitter.com/SK96qAhWur

Big Brother 23' Fans Call Frenchie a 'Fake Fan'

Showbiz Cheat Sheet 15 July, 2021 - 08:08pm

Many fans were excited that fans of the show were cast in this season. That includes Frenchie, who claimed to be a huge fan of Big Brother.

He claimed to love Angela Brooke “Angie Rockstar” Lantry from Big Brother 20 in the house. Frenchie said he had talked to her before and bought art from her partner. He was even considering getting that art tattooed before going into the house.

So it looked like Frenchie might have come up with some kind of strategy by being a fan. But the recent episode showed Frenchie’s strategy, and fans aren’t impressed.

Frenchie watched this show and still making all these mistakes. It’s giving fake fan #BB23 pic.twitter.com/rYZGqN94pr

The July 15 episode showed Frenchie’s confusing time as Head of Household (HOH). He made deals with almost everyone in the house.

He made a large alliance called The Slaughterhouse with Alyssa Lopez, Brent Champagne, Christian Birkenberger, Derek Frazier, Kyland Young, Whitney Williams, and Xavier Prather. Derek F noted in the episode that the alliance looked too big, and if it failed, he’d quickly jump ship.

Frenchie also made multiple final 2 deals with Brent and Derek F. Finally, he made the bold move of making a women’s alliance called the French Kisses with Azah Awasum, Claire Rehfuss, Tiffany Mitchell, and Hannah Chaddha. The ladies thought the idea was absurd but knew not to turn down an alliance when someone offers it. Fans said the whole strategy was messy and therefore started calling Frenchie a fake fan.

“Frenchie watched this show and still making all these mistakes. It’s giving fake fan #BB23,” one fan tweeted.

“I swear Frenchie ain’t never watch this show. Couldn’t have playing like this #BB23,” another fan tweeted

“Frenchie! Bro, you’re a fan of this show. 15 people alliances are not ideal. What are you doing!?” a third fan tweeted.

And just like that – #BBFrenchie’s HOH is over. Who’s up next? It’s time to find out! #BB23 pic.twitter.com/siatcsU4DU

Of course, there are some fans who don’t actually think Frenchie is a fake fan. But some actually think his gameplay is proof that fans would be bad at the game. “Bruv. Frenchie is a prime example of why being a fan of Big Brother is a weakness instead of a strength. The dude is everywhere #BB23,” one person tweeted.

Travis Long was evicted in the episode. Julie Chen revealed in his exit interview that he tried to blow up Frenchie’s game before he was evicted. Time will tell if what he said will help tank his game. Kyland ended up winning HOH, which could be a good thing for Frenchie since he is part of the Slaughterhouse. Then again, Frenchie also put him on the block.

Big Brother Recap: Who Became the First Evictee of Season 23?

TVLine 15 July, 2021 - 08:07pm

We could use a lot of adjectives to describe Big Brother‘s first week of Season 23, but “boring” sure isn’t one of ’em.

Entertaining? For sure. Surprising? Definitely. An absolute mess? On several occasions, yes! Thanks to Frenchie’s paranoia-filled Head of Household reign, which seemed to yield endless combinations of targets and alliances for the farmer, the past eight days have been surprisingly eventful, including a rare use of the Week 1 Power of Veto.

In the end, swimwear designer Alyssa and tech startup something-something Travis found themselves at risk of becoming the season’s first evictee. But which one scooped up their duffel bag before they’d even fully unpacked? Read on for the details of Thursday’s episode:

THE STRATEGY | After strategizing relentlessly all week, and locking in his final nominations at the veto ceremony, Frenchie is still scoping out ways to protect himself. He makes two separate alliances, consisting of a combined 11 — out of 16! — houseguests. First, there’s The Slaughterhouse, made up of Frenchie, Alyssa, Brent, Derek F., Whitney, Kyland, Christian and Xavier. (Whew!) Then, there’s the French Kisses, which includes Frenchie, Hannah, Azah, Tiffany and Claire. (Maybe Sarah Beth, too? Unclear.)

Frenchie feels secure on all sides after forming these partnerships, but he’s pretty much the only one who believes the alliances are legitimate. One by one in the Diary Room, members of both The Slaughterhouse and The French Kisses divulge that they don’t actually trust Frenchie very much, and they’re willing to cut and run the moment Frenchie starts dragging them down. Travis, for his part, tries to win votes by gamely giving Kyland a lap dance for his 30th birthday, which isn’t the worst strategy anyone’s ever had in this house.

THE EVICTION | Another item for the “Sure, Travis, Why Not?” list: He chooses to deliver his pre-eviction speech shirtless, then cracks a joke at the end about mysterious stains the houseguests might find on his bedsheets after he’s gone. “It’s not what you might think. I was pranked with shaving cream when I was asleep,” he says. OK!

But Travis’ good sense of humor isn’t enough to keep him in the house: He’s evicted by a vote of 11-2, with only Derek F. and Tiffany — the latter of whom is one of Travis’ Queens teammates — opting to keep him.

THE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD COMPETITION | And with that, Frenchie’s utterly chaotic turn as Head of Household is over, which is a little bittersweet: Like Marie Kondo, I love mess. But it’s time to crown a new HOH, which will be the houseguest who 1) successfully shoots a ball into a giant shark’s open mouth, and 2) does it from the most difficult starting point in the backyard.

Alyssa sinks her ball first, then she’s quickly dethroned by Brent — but Kyland ultimately beats them both, and he becomes Head of Household when no other houseguests knock him out. Plus, with Kyland’s victory, his teammates on The Queens — Tiffany and Claire — are safe for the week, too.

Fan Creates Funny List Comparing Big Brother Houseguests To Stores In Malls

Screen Rant 15 July, 2021 - 07:36pm

With that being said, live feed viewers have gotten to know nearly all of the houseguests quite well. They have learned which players they want to root for throughout the summer and which players they hope to see evicted sooner rather than later. Fans have also already seen some of the drama unfold inside the house. Earlier this week, live-feed viewers caught Head of Household Brandon "Frenchie" French shading the rest of the houseguests. He even claimed that production made it too easy for him to win.

Since fans can have 24/7 access to what is going on inside the house, they have learned a lot about each player's personality. Twitter user @BB_Gossiper created a thread in which they compared all of the houseguests to different stores found inside local shopping malls. They entitled it, "Places in my local mall that I associate each #bb23 houseguest with."  Some of the user's associations were pretty spot on. The funniest association of them all was between Brandon "Frenchie" French and the mall kiosks. These kiosk attendants will follow customers, doing whatever it takes to talk them into buying their product, Frenchie did just this during his chaotic HOH reign when nothing seemed to be going how he initially planned. The tweet read, "No one likes this yet it is still somehow in business.

Kyland Young is associated with Build a Bear Workshop because they see him as "a giant teddy bear," as well as "childlike." The store that best suits Britini D'Angelo is Bath & Body Works simply because of her lively energy. Azah Awasum and Auntie Anne's Pretzels go hand in hand because she is "sweet to the core." To no surprise, Travis Long pairs best with Pac Sun due to the store's beachy aesthetic. Being the trendy girl she is, Hannah Chaddha is best associated with Zara, one of the newer yet extremely stylish stores. Her crush, Derek Xio, is most like GameStop. The explanation for this read, "Despite having no actual reasons to do so, I want to invest. We buy the stock because we like the stock - not because it’s good."

Although Alyssa Lopez has an online store of her own, this Twitter user believes she is better associated with Hollister. While many of the tweets were about stores found inside the mall, some were actually restaurants. Tiffany Mitchell's comparison was with The Cheesecake Factory, while Derek Fraizer was compared to Panda Express. Some of the other comparisons included Brent Champagne with the wellness store GNC, Claire Rehfuss with H&M, Whitney Williams with Victoria's Secret, and Christian Birkenberger with Finish Line. This is quite a unique way to describe the houseguests' individual personalities.
