Released WWE Superstar Calls Becky Lynch Her Inspiration

Wrestling Inc. 21 July, 2021 - 07:10am

Former WWE Superstar Lana called Becky Lynch her “inspiration” while responding to The Man’s tweet on Monday night.

As reported earlier, Lynch clapped back at Charlotte Flair’s promo segment on WWE RAW, where The Queen said “Becky is home breastfeeding while I’m dominating the entire women’s division.”

Breastfeeding at home and still the most over woman in the division.

It’s no secret that Lana and Lynch are friends. Earlier this year, Lana revealed that she received encouraging texts from Lynch on a weekly basis throughout the pandemic era.

“I get texts from her saying ‘I’m so proud of you.’ She texts me every single week,” Lana told talkSport back in February. “I’m so thankful for that because when this whole pandemic started, I remember being so discouraged and I remember her telling me ‘you’re so strong. You’re such a strong woman. Now you’ve got to be who you are. Keep on carrying this, keep working hard, harder than anyone else so we can bring the people back that we love so much’ – and I remember those words [begins to cry].

“Hearing Becky say that about me. Every single day I start my morning like ‘I’m strong, I’m resilient I’m durable – I’m going to keep going.’

“I just think it’s so important the words that we use to people and that’s such a great example of Becky giving me hope. Her texts and guidance every single week is just… I’m so thankful.”

WWE Raw video highlights: Title change, returns, Kross debuts

Figure Four Online 21 July, 2021 - 07:10am

The Raw after Money in the Bank was an eventful night for WWE.

Live crowds returned to Raw and saw Nikki A.S.H. successfully cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase. After Charlotte Flair got disqualified in a title rematch against Rhea Ripley, Ripley laid her out with Riptide on the floor. Nikki A.S.H. started to make her way out as Ripley was hitting the move. Nikki A.S.H. then hit a top rope crossbody on Charlotte in the ring and pinned her to win the Raw Women's Championship.

Charlotte's title reign lasted only one day after winning the Raw Women's Championship from Ripley at Money in the Bank.

Goldberg made his return, appearing on WWE television for the first time since losing to Drew McIntyre at January's Royal Rumble. Goldberg confronted WWE Champion Bobby Lashley after Lashley defeated Keith Lee last night. Goldberg laughed at Lashley and declared that "I'm next."

Last night's Raw was the first time Lee has wrestled since February.

NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his Raw debut but lost to Jeff Hardy. Hardy, whose "No More Words" theme music made its return last night, had his feet on the ropes while pinning Kross. Kross was interviewed after the match and said Hardy just made the biggest mistake of his life. Kross said that -- in the end -- everyone will fall and pray.

Following his surprise return at Money in the Bank, John Cena kicked off Raw and continued to build up a match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns for SummerSlam.

Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss: Ranking the shortest WWE RAW Women's title reigns

GIVEMESPORT 21 July, 2021 - 05:41am

On the latest instalment of Monday Night RAW, the newly crowned Ms. Money in the Bank Nikki A.S.H did something wild.

After regaining her title as WWE RAW Women's Champion the night before, Charlotte Flair entered the ring to face off against the woman she snatched the belt from, Rhea Ripley.

The Queen lost the match via disqualification – hardly the ideal result in the first match as champion – but the bad luck didn't stop there for Charlotte.

Nikki A.S.H. sprinted ringside and cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase. As the crowd roared, the Scot delivered a crossbody to The Queen before pinning her to claim her first ever WWE title.

Following the antics from Monday night, GiveMeSport Women takes a look at the shortest WWE RAW Women's Championship titles in history...

A little over six months after making her debut on the RAW main roster, Bayley was crowned champion of the red brand.

After making the step up from NXT, she was eager to make a name for herself and what better way than to take a belt from wrestling icon Charlotte Flair?

After 76 days of holding the title, Bayley was defeated by Alexa Bliss at Payback, who won the belt for the first time in her career.

Nia Jax's reign as RAW Women's champion was short-lived, but one she will have celebrated hard.

In April 2018, The Irresistible Force locked horns with former best friend Alexa Bliss, who was holding the red brand title at the time. Bliss had body-shamed Jax and poked fun at her personality, leading to a title clash at WrestleMania 34. In a euphoric moment, Jax defeated her old friend and claimed her first ever WWE title.

Bliss has won the RAW Women's Champion three times during her career, which is an impressive feat for a wrestler who is still just 29 years old.

All three titles came within the space of 15 months, which was undoubtedly Bliss' best era of her WWE career to date. Her first reign saw her hold the belt for 112 days, before losing it (and reclaiming it from) Sasha Banks.

The second run was a solid 223 days before she lost the title to Jax, but after reclaiming it once more, Bliss lasted just 63 days as the red brand champion.

Sasha Banks is one of the most decorated female wrestlers in the WWE franchise. But despite being crowned the RAW Women's champion four times in her career, The Boss was never able to hold onto the title long-term.

Five-time champion Banks won the belt three times in 2016, beating Charlotte Flair on every occasion. However, none of her stints at champion lasted longer than a month.

Banks returned to her throne eight months later the following August with a win over then champion Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam, but her reign lasted just eight days before Little Miss Bliss came to take her belt back.

Charlotte Flair is one of, if not the most talented and admired female wrestlers in the world.

As a five-time RAW Women's champion and 13-time WWE title holder, she isn't dubbed 'The Queen' for nothing. Flair made history by becoming the first ever woman to win the title back in April 2016, where she held the belt for 113 days. However, since then, her time on the throne has diminished over the years.

After her tug of war with Banks, Flair was drafted onto the SmackDown brand and went on to win the title five times before returning to RAW for unfinished business earlier this year. After her long wait and a fierce rivalry between her and Rhea Ripley, The Queen took back her RAW title at Money in the Bank.

Flair has set records and written her name into history on multiple occasions, but setting the shortest ever time a woman has held the RAW title will not be something she wants tied to her highly decorated name.

WWE's Charlotte Flair: I Want More - Why Shouldn't I?

The Queen captured her 14th Championship in WWE on Sunday at Money In The Bank when she defeated Rhea Ripley to become Raw Women's Champion. Flair would catch up with Ryan Satin on Out Of Character following the match and she admitted she wants to accomplish more during her WWE career, something that she won't apologise for.

"I want more. I know people are like, 'Well, you've done it all.' So because I've main evented WrestleMania once, I'm not supposed to want to do it again? That's what I feel. I feel like, 'Charlotte you're selfish.' What? I'm selfish? You think Simone Biles doesn't want to be the GOAT anymore? Because I've main evented one pay-per-view, I'm not supposed to want to main event more?" Flair said.

"Look at Randy (Orton). No one is going, 'Randy, you're one of the greatest of all-time. You want more?' Randy just had this incredible run as the best villain during the COVID era. I get confused why people don't understand (that I want more). Is it because I'm a woman? That's how I came up with the opportunity line and that I am the opportunity. The women's division is so much smaller than the men's division. That's part of the issue as a whole, right? I have not won the Raw Women's Championship since 2017. I'm greedy because I want to win it in 2021? People don't look at the facts," she continued.

Flair's latest title reign would only last one day as Nikki A.S.H cashed in her Money In The Bank contract and defeated The Queen on the July 19 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Flair would also reflect on her growth as a performer and she revealed she wants to face Sasha Banks in a high profile match again.

"I sit back and I look at some of my matches in 2017 and 2018. I had a match with Sasha (Banks) at SummerSlam (2016) and I just wasn't there as a performer. I was nervous and in my head. The match got going towards the end. I would do anything to have that platform and have that match again. To be the performer that I am now with the calmness and coolness," Flair added.

"I was forever playing catch up and thrown in a role. If you go to Raw or SmackDown, you either sink or swim. Everyone has gotten this opportunity to evolve or change. I'm not, right now, evolving and it's not cool? That's what I'm confused at as a talent. I'm trying to get better and I want to evolve and have more layers. I don't understand why that makes me selfish. If you think I'm selfish, I'm going to say 'I am the opportunity.' That's how I pull these pieces together to tell stories and motivate myself."

Big Damo Comments On Nikki A.S.H's Women’s Title Win On WWE Raw

Taking to Twitter, Nikki’s husband Big Damo (Fka: Killian Dain in WWE) congratulated her, and acknowledged Nikki’s struggles in WWE.

Damo tweeted:

“It wasn't working - but you didn't cry, didn't get salty online, didn't hate on your peers success

Instead you worked crazy hard in the gym & you worked crazy hard in the ring. You went above & beyond to get this pitch right & you nailed it

You finished this day a @WWE Champion”

Nikki’s fortunes changed when she donned the cape and mask and started proclaiming herself an ‘Almost Super Hero’ last month, and so far it has paid off. While many fans were sceptical of the new gimmick at first, it has caught the imagination of the ‘WWE Universe’ and has given Nikki a long overdue first title in WWE.\
