Said spy family is comprised of exciting MCU newcomers like Florence Pugh (as Yelena Belova) and Rachel Weisz (Melina Vostokoff). There's also Stranger Things star David Harbour, who helps steal the show as Alexei Shostakov, aka Red Guardian. As Russia's equivalent to Captain America, Red Guardian spends much of the film dreaming of his glory days. He's the comedic highlight of Black Widow, and the door seems wide open for a future return. For the time being, though, this is his only MCU project.

Harbour joined some of his co-stars in celebrating Black Widow's release over the weekend, though he adopted a rather funny approach. On Sunday, Harbour shared some pictures of himself and Johansson, Pugh, and Weisz's stunt doubles. However, in the caption, he acted as though they were truly the actresses. "So down to earth and sweet, kept saying we’re not the ‘real actresses’ obviously to make me feel less intimidated to be working with such international stars!" he quipped. He ended the post with calling the shoot, "All in all a weird wonderful 4 and a half months!" and signing off with "#dadjokes." You can see his full post down below.

Harbour's bumbling Red Guardian brings much of the laughs to Black Widow, which ultimately is one of the more serious MCU installments. Still, it's clear Harbour himself is suited to comedy, and fans have largely praised his performance. There's a lot of interest in seeing him return in the future, perhaps alongside Yelena or Melina. Harbour confirmed recently he's heard some talk about bringing Red Guardian back, though he also acknowledged Marvel has a lot in the works that he is not a part of.

Aside from Black Widow, Harbour has also been hard at work making Stranger Things season 4 for Netflix. The hit streaming series could be the biggest obstacle to a future Red Guardian appearance, but it's probably safe to say the actor will find a way to make it work. With the dust barely having settled on Black Widow, it might be a little while before fans learn more about what's coming next for Harbour's Alexei. Hopefully, though, this won't be the last we've seen of him.
