On August 23, Korean news outlet Sports Chosun reported that Crush and Joy are currently dating.

The two singers collaborated on the song “Mayday” in May of last year, and according to Sports Chosun, they remained in touch afterwards and eventually began dating.

Crush’s agency P-NATION responded by commenting, “We are currently checking to see whether the reports of them dating are true.”

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment has not yet responded to reporters’ inquiries.

ON August 23, 2021, news broke that K-Pop star Joy of Red Velvet and Crush, a South Korean singer, were dating.

The news comes just a few days after Red Velvet returned with their first album since 2019, Queendom.

Joy’s label SM Entertainment and Crush’s label P Nation confirmed the relationship between the musicians.

South Korean outlet Sports Chosun broke the news that the pair were seeing each other.

The pair teamed up in May 2020 on Crush’s song Mayday, which set rumors alight about the couple's romance.

It was confirmed by Joy and Crush's respective labels that the two started seeing each other shortly after their song collaboration.

K-Pop fans welcomed the news of the new romance on social media.

K-Pop website Soompi, which has one of the largest international Internet communities for K-pop, tweeted the news. which garnered a host of replies.

"We're not really shocked, but I'm still so happy for them! very cute couple," one user wrote.

"If this is true, this makes me smile. They seemed to have such a fun time together when they were working on the one song," another said.

A delighted fan excitedly tweeted: "THEY IN LOVE I STAN OMG I AM SO HAPPY I LOVE THEM BOTH!!!!!"

One was concerned about the future of the couple's romance, writing: "Please I hope public don't ruin this couple. Dating is normal. Happy for you two. I'm not a fan but i'm happy that they didn't hide it. Congratulations. STAY IN LOVE."

Park Soo-young, known by the stage name Joy, is a South Korean singer, actress and host.

She debuted as a member of South Korean girl group Red Velvet in August 2014. 

Hailing from Jeju-si, South Korea, Joy is 24-years-old.

In 2021, Joy had her official debut as a soloist with the release of her special extended play Hello.

He debuted on April 1, 2014 with the single "Sometimes" and released his first album Crush on You on June 5, 2014.

Nine of Crush's singles have peaked in the top five on Gaon Digital Chart, including "Just", "Beautiful", "Don't Forget", "Bittersweet" and "Sleepness Night."

South Korean singer Crush has opened up about his relationship with Joy, a member of K-pop girl group Red Velvet.

The musician shared more about his relationship with Joy through his official fan cafe website on August 23, just hours after news broke that the pair were an item. Earlier in the day, the singers’ respective labels, P Nation and SM Entertainment, had also confirmed the news.

In his post, Crush addressed how he had been “taken aback” by the sudden media reports, saying that he had wanted to share the news with fans “at a right time”. However, he also spoke out about the “positive” status of his relationship with Joy, and shared a little on how it came about.

“Our fans, you must have been very surprised. This is the first time I’m conveying such news so I’m very nervous and [tense],” he wrote, as translated by Koreaboo. “The number of days where I am smiling has increased due to the positivity and brightness of that person [referring to Joy] and my heart has also become healthier.”

“It was only recently that we confirmed how each other felt, slowly and seriously, and so I had wanted to let you guys know first, at a right time, but somehow an article came out and I’m quite taken aback too,” he added.

Crush ended the post saying that he’d be “grateful” if fans could “look upon [their relationship] positively”. He also noted that he would “make sure to take responsibility and show everyone… a good side of me”.

South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun first broke the news about Crush and Joy’s relationship yesterday (August 23). The publication claimed that the duo had kept in touch after they collaborated on Crush’s May 2020 single ‘Mayday’, and subsequently embarked on a romantic relationship.

Meanwhile, Joy has also spoken out about the pair’s new relationship status. The K-pop idol took to the fan community app Lysn yesterday, where she apologised to fans for the surprising news. She added that she “hopes” fans who have been supporting her thus far “can be understanding and supportive” of the news.
