Disney Is Adding MORE Entertainment to Very Merriest After Hours! - Inside the Magic

Inside the Magic 14 October, 2021 - 04:15pm

In just under one month, the Holidays will kick off at Walt Disney World Resort, with the Spirit of the Season beginning November 12. However, one particular holiday celebration will begin a few days before the official Christmas kickoff. Disney Very Merriest After Hours — the replacement for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — will begin on November 8 and run through December 21.

Disney Very Merriest After Hours will feature a number of exciting events, including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. However, Disney did not think that that was enough Christmas magic and is now going to be offering even more special events at the new party.

Disney Parks Blog shared more about what would be coming:

The new stage show — Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories — will combine popular stage shows from holiday seasons past in order to create the ultimate magical celebration. Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories will mark the first time that a stage show has returned to Magic Kingdom since the theme parks were forced to shut down in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here is more information about additional experiences that will be a part of Disney Very Merriest After Hours from Disney Parks Blog:

Tickets for all Very Merriest After Hours are still available at this time and can be purchased by visiting the Walt Disney World website or by clicking here.

After a Long Hiatus, Disneyland Monorail Reopens This Week! - Inside the Magic

Inside the Magic 14 October, 2021 - 12:08pm

This just in! Disneyland Resort has announced that after a long closure (since before Disneyland Resort shut down amid the pandemic in March 2020!), the Disneyland Monorail is reopening very soon!

Per the announcement, the Disneyland Monorail will reopen on Friday, October 15, resuming daily operation.

The Disneyland Monorail is an historic attraction at the Disneyland Resort and is a staple of the theme parks. While the Monorail at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is actually considered part of Disney World’s transportation system, the original Monorail in California is, instead, an attraction.

Disney Parks Blog provides the following details:

The Disneyland Monorail has not been available for Guests to experience it since before the theme parks closed in March 2020. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park officially reopened on April 30, 2021, but the Monorail has not been available during this time. However, in recent weeks, Disney has begun testing the Monorail (without Guests riding it), and now we know that Disney Cast Members have been hard at work to ensure that the Monorail is ready for Guests to experience it once again.

There are two Disneyland Monorail stations: one at the Downtown Disney District located in between the Star Wars Trading Post and Disney Pin Traders, across from the LEGO Store, and another in Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park. Valid theme park admission (as well as a valid theme park reservation) is required to ride the Monorail, as it is a Disneyland attraction. For more information, we encourage you to check the Disneyland app during your visit.

The Disneyland Monorail isn’t the only reopening news we received this week. More entertainment is set to return to Disney California Adventure — click here to read more!

Little Remy of 'Ratatouille' Makes Magic at Disney Parks - Inside the Magic

Inside the Magic 13 October, 2021 - 01:27pm

If you are a Disney fan who is active on Instagram, then you’ve probably come across an adorable account featuring the always lovable (and now, fashionable!) Remy.

Yes, that’s right. One little Remy of Ratatouille has an Instagram account where he shows off his fun times at the Disney theme parks, as well as his amazing fashion sense.

Inside the Magic spoke with Remy and his friends, Kim and Chris, to learn all about his Disney adventures!

In early August 2020, just after the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks reopened, Passholders and locals Kim and Chris would visit the Disney Parks about once every week. One day when meandering EPCOT’s Mouse Gear (which has now been completely reimagined as the Creations Shop), the two spotted the new Remy shoulder plush. From that moment onward, their time documenting Remy’s adventures at Walt Disney World truly began.

We asked Kim and Chris about the responses that the @disneyadventureswithremy Instagram account (which has over 2,000 followers so far!) has received, and they shared nothing but positivity.

Note that Remy really is the star of the Instagram account. Kim and Chris say that they are Remy’s pals and help him document his adventures to share with his family and friends, as well as new Disney fans who come across his account on social media.

We had the opportunity to ask Remy himself some questions all about his adventures across Walt Disney World Resort (and beyond!).

Inside the Magic: What are some of your favorite adventures that you have been on around Disney property?

Remy: “Of course one of my favorite adventures has been exploring the France expansion and riding my new ride! It was a red carpet affair, so I had to wear my tux. I love Star Wars and have had so many incredible encounters off-world at Batuu which is one of my favorite photo spots. I try to attend the openings of the festivals at EPCOT as I can’t get enough of all of the food booths, artwork, merchandise, and topiaries. I look forward to all of the festivities to come for the 50th and many, many more pictures with my favorite icon: Cinderella Castle!”

Inside the Magic: I’ve noticed you have so many outfits! Please share more about the story behind the wardrobe.

Remy: “I love to dress up! Last year for Halloween I dressed up as “Bat-a-touille”and from there I was hooked. One day I noticed my pal @maddyshandmade on Instagram had a set of Chef Remy ears in her Etsy store as an ornament that looked just my size! When they arrived I was so excited because they fit perfectly. Since then she has made me even more sets of custom ears. Luckily for me, I can also wear some of the Nuimos tops, and I purchase some of my outfits from other creators on Etsy who make Nuimos clothing and accessories. My pals Chris and Kim who help me on my adventures, also make some of my items either as tailored doll clothes/accessories or made from scratch. My friend @graceyandleota even made me my own rat-sized PeopleMover vehicle for the ride reopening. I enjoy showing my fandom through my outfits and accessories or celebrating special holidays and occasions, just as many of you do too!

Some of my favorite accounts for clothing and accessories are @forgeandtinker @earstotails1 @enchantedmos and @sayaprayerandhustle”

Inside the Magic: Any plans to travel to other Disney destinations?

Remy: “So far I haven’t been able to travel outside of the WDW resort. With so much to see and do here with its four parks, Disney Springs, and many resorts I am still finding new things to explore and do. However, I just announced that I am “going to Disneyland” this holiday season! I can’t wait to see Avengers Campus, Cars Land, the Haunted Mansion holiday overlay, and of course, experience the magic that is Disneyland. I hope to go to all of the Disney Parks someday!”
