While players won't be able to access Halo Infinite's campaign during the technical preview this weekend, they will have an opportunity to try out the game's upcoming free-to-play multiplayer. Throughout the beta, a few different types of playlists will be available, which pit players against both bots and other players.

While matches against players will go on as they have in any other Halo title, matches against bots will be a little different. As part of a playlist called Bot Slayer, these matches will get more difficult and take place on different maps as the technical preview goes on.
Developer 343 Industries is also asking players to play regular matchmaking games at certain times corresponding with when it would expect heavy server load for the game. Naturally, these timeframes are from 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET to 9 PM PT / 1 AM ET on July 30, 31, and August 1, all late at night in the US during the weekend.
Surprisingly, players will be getting a peek at more than just Halo Infinite's multiplayer this weekend. 343 Industries has also enabled parts of the game's battle pass and store for players to access. Technical Preview participants have even been given some in-game currency to purchase some extra items along with the battle pass. However, any progress gained during the beta, in both the battle pass and general XP, will not extend past this beta.
Halo Infinite is currently set to launch this holiday season for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While we don't currently have a concrete launch date, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has reaffirmed that the game's release date has been narrowed down to "a few weeks."

The first technical preview beta phase for Halo: Infinite is currently underway and below you can find some 4K/Ultra screenshots from it.
In order to capture these screenshots, we used an Intel i9 9900K with 16GB of DDR4 at 3600Mhz, NVIDIA’s RTX 3080, Windows 10 64-bit, and the GeForce driver 471.41. We’ve also included MSI Afterburner as it showcases the CPU and the GPU usage.
Halo Infinite’s Technical Beta build is currently CPU-bound. Even at 4K/Ultra, our RTX3080 was never used to its fullest. Moreover, the game used all of our eight CPU cores during our playthrough. Unfortunately, though, our performance did not increase when we enabled Hyper-Threading.
Since this is a technical preview, you should not pay attention to these performance figures. Still, this is something to keep in mind, especially if you are taking place in this beta testing. So yeah, Halo Infinite Tech Beta Build currently requires a lot of CPU power on PC.
Furthermore, and since this is a tech beta build, the game’s graphics do not represent those of the final product. However, these screenshots can at least give you an idea of its art style.

Halo Infinite is one of the most anticipated games of 2021 and with so much hype around the title, online personalities jumped on the chance to get involved with the recent tech preview.
This demo event gave certain players the chance to test out the multiplayer and identify any bugs that need to be ironed out before Halo Infinite’s full release.
While the majority of streamers who played the game enjoyed the experience, MoistCr1tikal’s gameplay session didn’t exactly go to plan.
After attempting to find ledges outside the map by jumping off the side, he was banned from the tech preview and was unable to stream Halo Infinite to his audience.
After playing for a little while, he decided to test whether he could break the game and access parts of the map that are considered out of bounds.
Moving to the edge of the map, the streamer jumped off over and over again looking for a ledge or an area where 343 had forgotten to put a death barrier.
“I don’t even know what the f**k I’m looking for, I’m just mindlessly jumping into the water at this point… I really think 343 forgot to put a death barrier somewhere in the water out here”.
After realizing he wasn’t getting far enough out with the standard jump, MoistCr1tikal added a grenade to the equation. This gave him an extra boost while jumping and allowed him to get further out into the water.
However, after so many deaths in a row, a message popped up notifying the streamer that he’d been banned for committing suicide too many times in a row.
“Now I’ve been banned, oh wait is actually says user has been banned, like forever? Holy s**t”.
Although it appears as if the ban was an automated system set up to prevent players from killing themselves over and over again, it still stopped MoistCr1tikal from playing any more of the tech demo.
It was obvious from his initial reaction that he assumed it was just a ban or a kick from the current game he was in.
While MoistCr1tikal’s experience with Halo ended a little prematurely, it’s unlikely that this ban will carry over to the game’s full release.
