New WWE Champion Big E wants all four members of The Hurt Business to get together again and feud with The New Day.

While speaking to Complex, Big E was asked about future challenges he could face as WWE Champion. The New Day star stated that there would be multiple opportunities if all four members of The Hurt Business reunited.

Big E referenced Cedric Alexander's tweet following Bobby Lashley's title loss and believes that Lashley will not back down and will fight to regain his title.

Earlier this year, the Hurt Business surprisingly dissolved as Lashley threw Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin out of the group. Despite being heels, the foursome (including MVP) had become a popular faction with the WWE Universe.

However, MVP teased a reunion after Lashley's loss on RAW by posting a picture of himself beside Shelton Benjamin.

Meanwhile, Lashley revealed last month that there's room for more stars to be added to The Hurt Business, which means we could perhaps see the return of Alexander and Benjamin to feud with The New Day.

Big E Reveals When He Found Out About WWE Raw Money In The Bank Cash-In

Big E called his shot on social media on Monday 13 September, revealing to fans he would be at Raw to cash in his Money In The Bank contract. The New Day member didn't disappoint, cashing in on Bobby Lashley following his WWE Title defence against Randy Orton to become the new WWE Champion.

The 35-year-old has now opened up on the backstage process behind his WWE Championship win, revealing he only realised he was going to be on Monday Night Raw after finishing up at a WWE live event on the Sunday.

It was when he arrived at Raw that he found out about his impending success.

Speaking with Bleacher Report’s Graham Matthews, Big E revealed: "When I started this loop, my intention was that I was supposed to be home Monday morning after the live event Sunday and I realized I was going to Raw last minute. That was a bit of a last-minute decision.

"There was also the option of maybe I go out there and do some teasing and come back later when it’s time to actually cash in or go back to SmackDown and cash in there. I wasn’t really sure. It was an afternoon, that day decision and it all happened very, very quickly.

"For me, it was definitely not something that was set in stone days and days ahead."

"Grown human beings don't act that way"- WWE legend on Big E's gimmick

Sportskeeda 16 September, 2021 - 12:45am

Judging from his recent comments, pro-wrestling legend Jim Cornette isn't a big fan of Big E's gimmick.

Big E won the WWE title for the first time in his career on this week's RAW. The superstar cashed in his Money In The Bank contract on Bobby Lashley and ended up pinning "The Almighty" to win the big one.

The opening segment of this week's WWE RAW featured Randy Orton, Riddle, Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Big E. While watching the segment, Jim Cornette went on a rant about Big E's on-screen demeanor. Check out the comments below:

Big E has been donning the comic gimmick since The New Day's creation seven years ago. Many folks told him that he would never become a World Champion untill he gave up the comedy bit. Fans may remember former WWE Champion The Miz telling Big E that he would have to "get serious" for a successful singles career in WWE.

Big E didn't listen to his detractors and continued being his usual hilarious self on WWE TV. He was finally given his well-deserved WWE title win on RAW. Fans have also reacted positively to the win.

What do you think about Big E's character? Do you agree with Jim Cornette about Big E's gimmick? Should Big E change his character and add a more serious tone to it? Share your opinion in the comment section below!

Bray Wyatt reacts to Big E winning the WWE Championship

Sportskeeda 15 September, 2021 - 03:50pm

Former Universal Champion Bray Wyatt has sent out a special message for Big E following the latter's WWE Championship victory earlier this week.

This past week on Monday Night RAW, Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Bobby Lashley to become the new WWE Champion. Fans had been eagerly waiting for years to see Big E reach the top of the mountain. With him finally doing that, social media was full of wishes and reactions to this massive victory for the New Day star.

Although he was a bit late to respond, Bray Wyatt has now reacted to Big E's WWE Championship victory. The former WWE Superstar had huge praise for Big E, claiming that he's the type of guy who others line up to congratulate.

The new WWE Champion Big E was quick to notice this special message from Bray Wyatt. Replying to it, he thanked Wyatt for the kind words.

Bray Wyatt and Big E are no strangers to each other when it comes to the squared circle. Long before either of them joined RAW or SmackDown, the two faced each other in FCW, then known by the ring names Husky Harris and Big E. Langston.

Following their main roster call-up, they faced each other in multiple tag team matches. The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) had many memorable matches and segments with The Wyatt Family, but it was the former group who came out on top on most occasions.

What do you think about Wyatt's message? Sound off below.

Big E on Why a New Day Split Doesn't Make Sense, His Recent Interactions with Paul Heyman, More

Wrestling Headlines 15 September, 2021 - 02:40pm

WWE Champion Big E recently spoke with Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report and talked about why a split of The New Day just doesn’t make sense, and won’t happen.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods reunited with Big E at Monday’s RAW for a backstage segment leading to his cash-in on former champion Bobby Lashley. They then hit the ring for his post-match celebration. Kingston and Woods had been without Big E since the 2020 WWE Draft, but they often made special appearances together. It was noted how before Monday’s RAW fans were still hoping for The New Day to split with Woods and Kingston costing Big E his Money In the Bank title shot. Big E said there are so many other directions to go,

“There are so many other routes to go that I think work,” Big E said. “If we listened to people or people got their way years ago and we broke up… Kofi obviously still would’ve deserved his championship run, but we wouldn’t have been able to tell that story in the same way. I just think beyond our selfish desire to be together because we love being together and love each other, I think it gives you more options now.

“We got to tell this story of brotherhood. We got to go through a tag team Gauntlet match a few years ago to earn another man a world championship run. That to me is so unique and not many people could’ve pulled it off as well.”

Big E also commented on potential trios matches he’d like to see now that the group is together again on the RAW brand. He said he’d like to see The New Day vs. The Bloodline, or The New Day vs. The Hurt Business if they got back together.

“Because we were so resistant to these ideas and inclinations to break us up or turn on each other, now you have this opportunity to look across the pond or look across the brand and see a potential incredible rivalry with The Bloodline. If it’s up to me, The Hurt Business is getting back together and that’s another possibility,” he said.

It was noted how it wouldn’t be logical for WWE to break up The New Day as they’re still at the peak of their popularity, and will be featured in Netflix’s “Escape The Undertaker’s Mansion” interactive movie on October 5. Big E talked more about how it just doesn’t make sense to split the group up.

“There are a lot of things to consider beyond that,” Big E said. “It doesn’t make a lot of sense. We’re talking the end of the New Day podcast and all the opportunities that we’re currently in, all the future opportunities. I think we’re a really unique group. Not to pat ourselves on the back too hard, but I don’t think you see three guys are as talented as we are who we are as close as we are in this business that aren’t related that for seven years, we’re not annoyed with each other, we’re not at each other’s necks.

“I don’t know why you’d want to waste all of that to do a simple turn on each other. And then what in six months? You’re broken up in six months. It doesn’t make much sense. Don’t hold your breath. It’s over. Let it all go. Let all that stuff go because it’s not in the cards.”

Big E had previously stated that he wanted to challenge WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38, and the match had been teased on recent SmackDown episodes in the backstage segments between Big E and Paul Heyman. Big E was asked about these interactions with Heyman, and said he wasn’t sure whether they were intended to be a red herring or not.

“It’s hard to really say what the intention was as far as I know,” he said. “It just makes sense to keep your options open, especially if I’m going to be on SmackDown. Why not do something? And Paul is such a great foil for all of that stuff… I don’t know what the intention was, I can’t speak to that because I’m kind of in the dark there, but I’m glad we got to lead people that way [with the cash-in on Roman] and have a little fun.”

Bray Wyatt Reacts To Big E Winning The WWE Title, Big E Responds - Wrestling Inc.

Wrestling Inc. 15 September, 2021 - 02:39pm

Windham Rotunda (fka WWE’s Bray Wyatt) took to Twitter today and reacted to Big E’s WWE Title win.

Wyatt praised Big E as being the kind of guy his co-workers line up to congratulate, and called his title win a good look for the company.

“I am late on this, and I wasn’t there. But Big E is the type of dude that the boys line up to congratulate. It’s a real good look,” Rotunda wrote.

Big E responded and wrote, “Incredibly sweet of you, my man. Thank you for your kindness.”

Rotunda wrote back with a fist emoji.

Rotunda was released from his WWE contract on July 31. He is expected to sign with AEW in the near future, but Impact Wrestling is also trying to sign the man behind The Fiend.

MVP Teases Reuniting The Hurt Business On WWE RAW - Wrestling Inc.

Wrestling Inc. 15 September, 2021 - 01:48am

In the aftermath of Bobby Lashley losing the WWE Championship to Big E on this week’s WWE RAW, MVP took to Instagram to post a picture of him sitting alongside Shelton Benjamin.

MVP wrote that he was “discussing business with an old acquaintance,” leading fans to speculate on a possible reunion of The Hurt Business.

Meanwhile, Cedric Alexander apparently mocked Lashley by tweeting, “If only you had some backup” immediately after Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on RAW.

There has also been some chatter lately of Keith Lee getting reintroduced on RAW as a member of MVP’s stable.

The Hurt Business was split up in late March when Lashley dismissed Benjamin and Alexander from the group in an in-ring segment. The split led to a lot of criticism, with the likes of Dave Batista speaking out against WWE’s creative decision.

There were also reports of Lashley and MVP trying to convince Vince McMahon to not break up the faction.
