When will Iphone 13 be released?
Apple is famously secretive when it comes to tech announcements but going by the latest rumours, Apple's iPhone 13 launch date will be September 2021. The next-gen iPhone is expected to bring a host of upgrades including a super-fast 5G modem, ultra-wide 48MP camera and Apple's first-ever 120Hz display. On Monday, a Weibo user shared an image of an iPhone 12 Pro in a case purportedly designed for an iPhone 13 Pro. The phone mostly fits, but the cutout for the camera module is far too large. Based on leaked dummy models, we knew the design of the cameras was going to change. This case leak does a great job of showing off just how drastic that change will be.
Another Weibo user followed up on Tuesday with images of even more leaked cases. It looks like the iPhone 13 Pro Max will have a larger camera module as well, but the difference won’t be as extreme. Basically, the iPhone 13 Pro camera module will have the most noticeable new design.
As MacRumors points out, even if these are “legitimate” iPhone 13 cases, manufacturers typically start designing cases based on leaked details from the internet. In all likelihood, the case makers know just as much as we do about the iPhone 13’s design. As such, take all of this with a grain of salt.
With that said, the iPhone 13 leaks have been springing at a furious pace in recent weeks. As we said at the top, there might not be much left to announce by the time Apple takes the stage in September. Reports claim that the iPhone 13 will feature a smaller notch, faster chips, and better battery life.
There are also rumors that Apple will finally add a 120Hz display, but we might have to wait until 2022. Finally, leakers have cast doubt on Apple using the number 13 for its new line of phones. Instead, the 2021 models could bring back the “S” — iPhone 12s, iPhone 12s Pro, etc.

BEIJING (Reuters) -Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday urged political parties worldwide to oppose any country that engages in "technology blockades", an allusion to the United States which views China as its strategic competitor. As U.S. President Joe Biden's administration has sought support from like-minded democracies including the European Union and Japan to coordinate a tougher stance against China, Beijing has doubled down on seeking support and affirmation from friendly nations such as North Korea and Serbia. "Looking from the angle of 'My Country First', the world is narrow and crowded, and often full of fierce competition," Xi said in apparent reference to former U.S. President Donald Trump's "America First" policy.

As usual, Apple will officially release a new generation of iPhones in September this year. Over the past few months, there have been numerous speculations regarding these smartphones. However, a recent leak reveals all that we need to know regarding this series. In fact, the leak also contains price information. According to the leak, the iPhone 13 will have four models, this is already public knowledge. The iPhone 13 series will include iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Furthermore, the appearance of the device is one of the most obvious upgrades this year. The model and design drawings that have been exposed multiple times have basically confirmed that the iPhone 13 series will be equipped with a small notch display. This is the first time Apple will reduce the notch area in four years. It will bring a larger screen-to-body ratio and effectively improve the visual effect.
In terms of screen size, Apple will still retain the details of the previous generation. The iPhone 13 mini will have a 5.4-inch display while the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will use a 6.1-inch display. The iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with the largest 6.7-inch display. There are reports that this will be the last time that Apple will release a mini model.
In addition, the entry-level version of the two iPhone 13 may also adopt a new rear camera arrangement. Although it is still a dual-camera configuration, it has been changed from the original vertical arrangement to a diagonal arrangement. Of course, the triple camera version of the Pro models still remains more attractive.
In terms of configuration, the entire iPhone 13 series will be upgraded to the latest self-developed A15 bionic chip. Earlier news claims that the chip still uses the 5nm process, but it has upgraded the second-generation 5nm process of TSMC. This means that it will come with a better energy efficiency ratio and 5G performance. Other aspects of this chip will also be better than the previous generation.
Furthermore, the iPhone 13 series also comes with larger battery capacities relative to the iPhone 12 series. The iPhone 13 mini will come with a 2406 mAh while the iPhone 13 will use a 3095 mAh battery. For the Pro models, the iPhone 13 Pro will use also use a 3095 mAh battery while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with a 4352 mAh battery which is nearly 700 mAh more than the 3687mAh of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
In terms of price, the iPhone 13 mini will start at $699 while the iPhone 13 has a $799 starting price. Furthermore, the iPhone 13 Pro has a $999 starting price while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will start at $1,099.

Despite the iPhone 12’s raging success, some analysts believe that the iPhone 13 lineup, which is expected to comprise of four models, will outsell Apple’s current flagship family. Since Apple will reportedly announce the new models during the third week of September, it will have a headstart when taking pre-orders compared to last year’s launch. The aforementioned reason, combined with others, could be sufficient as to why Apple is estimated to ship around 226 million iPhone units in 2022.
According to an investors’ note spotted by Business Insider, JP Morgan analysts expect Apple’s iPhone 13 launch to turn the company’s underperforming run. It is puzzling why analysts would term Apple’s current run as underperforming, especially when its iPhone 12 range has equaled the same milestone as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch; reaching 100 million unit shipments in seven months.
Regardless, the Cupertino tech giant is not expected to perform poorly in 2021 by any means, with the company estimated to ship between 210-215 million units. However, 2022 could be the best year for Apple in a long time, with analysts expecting Apple to ship as many as 226 million units. Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities previously stated that the iPhone 13’s upgrades should encourage customers to pick it up.
Even though the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series look nearly identical if you take a look at our previously reported dummies leak, it is the internal upgrades that will matter on this occasion, ranging from improved cameras, increased battery sizes, and of course, the inclusion of 120Hz LTPO OLED screens on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, JP Morgan has set a slightly conservative shipments estimate, as an earlier report mentioned that Apple could ship up to 240 million units in 2021 alone.
We will see just how well the company performs in the coming months shortly after the iPhone 13 unveiling, so stay tuned for more updates.
