Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser prices revealed: Here’s what you get

SlashGear 04 August, 2021 - 11:28am

Starting prices for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience with Disney have been revealed, and they are… substantial. The first “Voyage Departure” dates have been revealed, as well, starting on August 20, 2022, through September 17, 2022. It’s likely Disney is only booking this first set of weeks first before moving on to make sure they have their Porgs in a row for a more expanded set of launch dates.

Pricing for the Disney World Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser hotel and experience start at $1,209 per guest per night if it’s a party of just 2 guests. That’ll end up being a “voyage total” of $4,809 USD. That is the least expensive total price for one voyage with the Starcruiser.

If you’re going with 3 guests per cabin, including 2 adults and 1 child, you’ll pay $889 per guest per night, for a voyage total of $5299 USD. If you’re up to 4 guests per cabin, 3 adults and 1 child, you’ll pay $749 per guest per night, for a total of $5999 USD.

Above and below you’ll also see an example itinerary as provided by Disney. Some of the experience is set in stone, some is based on your choices during your stay.

Stick around as we learn more about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Disney as we approach launch in approximately a year from now. Take a peek at the timeline below for more information on what this experience will consist of, and how you can get involved.

Star Wars Fans Are Annoyed After Disney Reveals Star Wars Galactic Cruiser Experience Ticket Prices

CinemaBlend 04 August, 2021 - 11:02am

Knowing what we already know about the immersive Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience that’s currently being constructed in Orlando’s Walt Disney World theme park, we expected the price of admission to be steep. But based on the reactions of hopeful Rebels and possible Empire overlords who were planning their vacations around a visit to the Starcruiser, the cost for visiting a galaxy far, far away is going to cost them far, far too much.

Walt Disney World unveiled some of the first pricing packages for Standard Cabins aboard the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, a two-night experience in a cabin or suite on the ship that includes so many amenities aimed to make guests feel like they are living their own Star Wars adventure. The Galactic Starcruiser will use characters, activities, food and beverage, and the design of the hotel to encourage visitors to live out a story set in the Star Wars universe that’s personal and specific to each person. Ultimately, though, it’s still just a hotel in Orlando.

Still, the reality of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is that it’s an out-of-this-world experience, the kind you won’t be able to find anywhere else on this planet. That has some die-hards going to extremes to meet the costs suggested by the Theme Park giant.

Others just used this announcement as an opportunity to take Jurassic Park-themed jabs at the company (kind of ignoring the fact that Walt Disney Theme Parks is sinking a fortune into even making this Star Wars experience a reality):

Still contemplating booking passage on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser when it opens for business in 2022? I don’t blame you. If I lived and breathed Star Wars, as many of you reading this probably do, then I’d be doing whatever I could to make it happen. But these prices will make it difficult for many who might have harbored dreams of stepping into the reality for a two-night jaunt around the galaxies. Here’s the starting price structure for a go at the fun.

Keep in mind, those prices are “Weeknight” departure rates. Not sure what they might go up to on the weekends. This might be the starting point for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. If the feedback keeps reflecting the reality that most fans can’t participate at this price point, Disney may rethink the matter. We’ll keep updating details about the park, and this immersive Star Wars experience, as they drop. But at this going rate, do you think Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is something you will be able to book right out of the gate in 2022? Or is it something that you would eventually save for, so you could experience it with friends and family members at a later date? Vote in our poll below.

Disney’s Star Wars hotel will be super immersive and super expensive

Disney unveiled prices for its upcoming Star Wars hotel experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, and by the stars, that’s gonna be a whole lot of credits.

The two-night immersive adventure promises a journey into a personalized Star Wars experience, where guests will board a “launch pod” and stay on the Halcyon starcruiser. The full itinerary includes character interactions, lightsaber battles, exploration of the ship and spaces in the Star Wars world, and dining with entertainment. It also includes “unexpected story moments” that aren’t planned, which may whisk guests to help Resistance stowaways or broker heist deals. Sounds super fun, except you’re probably going to want to start saving up money right away.

The exact pricing varies on whether you choose a standard cabin or one of the various suites, but a two-person getaway will start at $4,809 total (and that is specified to be weeknights only). For three guests (which is specifically two adults and one child on the listing) that bumps the price up to $5,229, with four guests (also three adults and one child — families with more than one kid, battle it out!) bringing it to $5,999 for the two-night experience. Truly, not an adventure for your run-of-the-mill moisture farmer.

The full price breakdown can be found on the website, along with the itinerary highlights. The Galactic Starcruiser will launch its maiden voyages in spring 2022.

This is way more expensive than a week and a half stay at Disney World!

…still going to pay for it though. This is going to be one of the coolest experiences that Disney has ever offered.

By ThiccJabbaBooty on 08.04.21 12:00pm

Even without the obvious Disney capitalism jokes and location, this was still never going to be cheap. Everything in this hotel is custom made in order to get the Star Wars feel. How many hotels outside of Disneyland/world will be ordering custom Star Wars furnishing. Where as your average non-themed hotel uses furnishing that can be found in any other hotel or even a household.

Customization on that level does not come cheap.

By Adm_SkyWalker on 08.04.21 12:00pm

The price almost certainly has nothing to do with cost, and everything to do with supply and demand.

By MattCC on 08.04.21 12:09pm

Though it’s a bit pricier than expected, it is not a far cry from it. Everyone should have known it was going to be expensive, but Disney knows what it is doing. At least for the first year if not more, I would expect nearly full occupancy and sparse available reservations.

It’s quite possible after the initial release starts to wear down (maybe 2 years?), they may lower prices slightly. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they have promotions and "events" that occur that fluctuates the price. So much potential and people will pay easily.

By Eber on 08.04.21 12:07pm

Disney prices never go down, they only go up. These prices were what were estimated a year or so ago so it shouldn’t really be a surprise. But if you combine this with a longer Disney World stay you could easily ready a $12-15k bill for 4 people at the end of it. Thats a lot of money.

By MrMichaelJames on 08.04.21 12:45pm

When aliens make an after-action report on our extinction a hundred years from now, it will definitely have a section about priorities and resource allocation.

By MattCC on 08.04.21 12:08pm

Nah, they’ll just be like "damn…these people were cool as shit!" and then hopefully try to revive us so we can party together.

By ThiccJabbaBooty on 08.04.21 12:14pm

haha. No. This is absolutely a waste of resource so manchildren can spend their money trying to replicate their childhoods.

By Kemuri07 on 08.04.21 12:21pm

If you got the money, go for it I guess. But…it absolutely is what it is.

By Kemuri07 on 08.04.21 12:23pm

and i thought they smelled bad on the outside

By Lil Kut-Ku on 08.04.21 12:36pm

Disney is literally Genarro from Jurassic Park at this point. "We can charge whatever we want, and people will pay it!"

By TheBacklogger on 08.04.21 12:44pm

The sample itinerary looks terrible and not at all immersive. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to pay for this when they could spend the same or less and spend a full week in Rome, Paris, London, etc.

And I’m saying that as both a big Star Wars fan and a person who really enjoys WDW.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser First Look Video, Pricing, Dining, and More Revealed - IGN

IGN 04 August, 2021 - 10:07am

As shared on Disney Parks Blog, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is set to open in Spring 2022 at Walt Disney World and will take guests to a galaxy far, far away for two nights of Star Wars immersion unlike any other. The video, which you can see below, shows a bit of what visitors will be able to expect, including a look at the cabins, the first-of-its-kind lightsaber, aliens, what you will see outside each window, how you may be recruited by the Resistance, and much more.

Disney also shared Sample Standard Cabin Rates for this stay aboard the Halcyon - the ship that is the star of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. A standard cabin can sleep up to four or five passengers and includes a Queen bed, 2 berths (bunk beds), and a wall pull-down bed. Each room will also come with a pullout table, TV, window into space, mini fridge, hair dryer, safe, phone, and bath products.

The pricing breakdown for a Standard Cabin is as follows;

This pricing also includes entry to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Galaxy's Edge on day one of your journey, two breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals per guest, one quick-service meal, valet parking, an exclusive Galactic Starcruiser MagicBand, and more.

There will also be Galaxy Class Suites which can sleep four and include a sitting area, double vanity bathroom, bar area, two windows into space, and a "few extra Star Wars surprises. For those looking for the ultimate experience, a Grand Captain Suite is available and can sleep eight passengers, features a post living space and seating area, a second bathroom, three windows with views into space, and more surprises.

There are 100 cabins aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, and each one is "radiating an atmosphere of elegance, style, comfort, and exclusivity.

Food and dining experiences aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will also feel like they are pulled straight from that galaxy far, far away, and there will be quick ways to get food or more immersive ones. On the first night of your adventure, the Crown of Corellia Dining Room will transform into a table-service supper club with a "special musical appearance by a galactic superstar."

The second night, The Taste Around the Galaxy will showcase courses inspired from locations and planets from Star Wars. This meal will include a presentation of what you are being served, an appetizer, choice of entrée, and dessert.

Breakfast and Lunch will also take place in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room and will feature "colorful fare from all over the galaxy" alongside "familiar favorites from your home planet." For those worried, there will be plenty of fresh brewed coffee and Bubo Wamba Family Farms Blue Milk to go around.

For those looking for a more social/bar experience, the Sublight Lounge will be the place to visit. It is the "perfect place to sip a beverage and relax—perhaps while conspiring with a charming smuggler or playing a casual game of holo-sabacc."

Furthermore, guests will be able to arrange to sit at the Captain's Table for a special dining experience that includes extra courses the Captain loves and a prime spot in the center of the Crown of Corellia Dining Room.

The adventure aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is much more than just a standard two-night stay at a hotel, as it is meant to allow you to live your own Star Wars story. In Disney's own words, it is "part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game—and yet so much more."

Guests will also be able to choose to join the First Order or the Resistance, to strike a bargain with a gang of smugglers, or simply "sip a cocktail and watch it all from a safe distance."

During your journey, you will run into new and familiar characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca, and you'll even be able to assist some of them on missions. The Star Wars: Datapad experience that is featured in the Play Disney Parks app will include your personalized itinerary of events and activities, but will also include a way to communicate with the crew and others, make choices, receive communications, and it may also be your way to be "invited to secret meetings and adventures."

Much like Luke did in Star Wars: A New Hope, guests will be able to become Jedi and wield a lightsaber while facing off against a remote training device. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will also be the first place fans can see Disney's realistic, retractable lightsaber.

Bridge training will give passengers a chance to learn all about the bridge of the Halcyon, and the crew will teach you how to help with navigation, power, defense, and other critical systems that will keep everyone safe. This will come in handy when "unforeseen galactic entanglements" occur.

As previously mentioned, your journey will take you to the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu a.k.a. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and you will even get to ride both Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Furthermore, the events on the ship and the rides will both help tell the full story of this Star Wars adventure.

Disney has also shared a sample itinerary for the two-night adventure aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, and it includes everything from Sabacc lessons to Dinner featuring Live Music to an Outer Rim Regalia to a Droid Racing competition.

There will also be "unexpected story moments" that will have guests choosing between, for example, proving your mettle to join an elite smuggling ring or hiding a stowaway to help the resistance.

Unlike Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Galactic Starcruiser invites and encourages guests to dress up the part. Do you want to dress in full Jedi garb during your adventure or wear your Coruscant best? The choice is yours.

As previously mentioned, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will officially open at Walt Disney World Resort in Spring 2022.
