You Pod to Win the Game
Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins was carted off the field during his team's final preseason game on Saturday with an apparent knee injury. It did not take long for the Ravens to rule him out for the rest of the game:

Dobbins' injury occurred on a screen pass from Lamar Jackson, in which he ran the ball past the line of scrimmage, was tackled from the right by Washington Football Team linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk and landed on cornerback Jimmy Moreland. He immediately grabbed his left knee in pain.
Replay showed Dobbins' knee hyperextend as his leg collided with Moreland.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh didn't have an update on Dobbins after the game, but said that they would evaluate him on Sunday.

Any time missed for Dobbins would be a significant loss for the Ravens, who drafted him in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. The former Ohio State star looked like a star in the making as a rookie, posting 805 rushing yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 6.0 yards per rush.
If Dobbins misses time, Gus Edwards is the clear favorite to take the lion's share of carries in the Ravens' run-heavy offense. Justice Hill and Ty'Son Williams, who has impressed in preseason, would also be candidates for increased appearances.
The Ravens are scheduled to open their season against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 13.
Though Dobbins’ injury put a damper on the night, the Ravens beat Washington 37-3 to claim their 20th straight preseason win — which sets an unofficial NFL record.

“I just think it’s really cool for the guys,” Harbaugh said. “I’m sure there’s a lot of guys watching on TV with their kids telling their kids about that accomplishment, telling them that they were a part of it … To me that’s the thing that means the most.”
J.K. Dobbins going down with an injury overshadowed the Baltimore Ravens making a little preseason history. Dobbins injured his left knee, Lamar Jackson made his 2021 preseason debut and Tyler Huntley scored five touchdowns to help the Ravens rout Washington 37-3 Saturday to win their NFL-best 20th consecutive exhibition game. Dobbins' uncertain status is the biggest lingering effect for Baltimore with the regular season on the horizon.

The Ravens exhibition game against the Washington Football Team opened with running back J.K. Dobbins injuring his knee on the first series during a short pass. Dobbins had already rushed twice for 15 yards but is not expected to return to the game.
He remained on the ground holding his left knee after being tackled awkwardly on a screen pass and was carried to the sidelines. He was unable to put weight on the leg and was later carted to the locker room after spending time in the blue medical tent. The prognosis may not be known until tomorrow and speculation was that he either hyperextended his knee or worse.
Should Dobbins miss time – which initially seems likely – he’ll be replaced by Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. Edwards signed a two-year, $10 million extension in June as the No. 2 back. Edwards has consistently rushed for around 700 yards in each of his three previous seasons and is already a reliable part of the backfield.
Hill has been only a minor contributor in his two seasons but had received positive reviews in training camp. Edwards is the main beneficiary for fantasy football if Dobbins injury proves to be serious as feared.

A key Baltimore Ravens starter suffered a potentially serious injury early in Saturday's preseason victory over the Washington Football Team.
Running back J.K. Dobbins was helped off the field, putting no weight on his left leg. The running back had his leg bent backward after catching a screen pass. He immediately grabbed his left knee.
Dobbins was taken directly to the blue medical tent. He was carted to the locker room and ruled out with a knee injury.
The severity of the injury remained unclear after the game.
"He'll get tested tomorrow and we'll see where we're at, at that point in time," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.
The second-year back looked good on two early carries, displaying burst and shiftiness, generating 15 yards, including a 10-yard pop to open the Ravens' first drive.
It would be a massive blow to the Ravens' run-heavy offense if the dual-threat Dobbins is out for an extended period. Coming off an 805-yard rushing rookie season, in which he surged down the stretch, Dobbins was in line to have a massive second season. Now, that might all be in jeopardy.
The injury is an ominous sign for the Ravens, who were playing the majority of their starters as they sought to win their 20th straight preseason game. Lamar Jackson, seeing his first preseason action, was also sacked twice, including the play after Dobbins went down. Jackson took a seat after one drive, finishing 3-of-4 passing for 29 yards.
