On Monday, July 19, Jessa Duggar Seewald announced that she welcomed another child with her husband, Ben Seewald. At this time, the couple is keeping details of their newborn to themselves, such as the sex of their baby, the name they have chosen and more.
Although Jessa and Ben are staying tight-lipped about their bundle of joy, they couldn't help but celebrate the news with a sweet Instagram post.
"Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!" the former Counting On star shared, alongside an intimate photo that showed her holding onto her little one in the hospital bed.
"Congrats sis! So happy for y'all!!" Jessa's older sister, Jill Duggar Dillard, responded to her post, with her sister-in-law, Claire Duggar, replying, "So very excited for you guys!!!"
Along with announcing the arrival of her baby, Jessa uploaded a YouTube video that captured behind-the-scenes moments of her family life before she gave birth.
Spurgeon and Henry both agreed that their mom was going to have a boy, while Ivy kept her lips sealed. Her big brothers, however, adorably encouraged her to copy their guesses.
Interestingly, the reality TV personality revealed that she and her husband were stuck on picking out a name for their baby.
"Ben and I have been sitting on the [sex] here for forever, months and months, and you'd think we'd have a name by now," she admitted. "But it's harder than it seems. I feel like the more kids you have, the more you've used up...the favorites."
She continued, "And I haven't even always liked the same names from pregnancy to pregnancy. It's kind of changed. I look back on my name list from previous pregnancies and...none of them are just like, 'Wow.' So I kind of start from scratch. And Ben, too."
Back in February, the TLC alum announced that she and Ben were expanding their family.
"We're looking forward to summertime, and here's our #1 reason!" Jessa captioned her Instagram at the time. "Thank you, God, for this precious gift! #RainbowBaby."
Following their baby news, the 19 Kids and Counting alum told Entertainment Tonight why this pregnancy felt extra meaningful.
"After the heartbreaking loss of a baby last year, we're overjoyed to share that another little Seewald is on the way!" Jessa and Ben said in a joint statement. "The pregnancy is going smoothly, and both baby and Jessa are doing well. We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer."

Congratulations are in order for Jessa Duggar, 28, and her husband Ben Seewald, 25, who are parents for the fourth time! The reality TV stars welcomed an adorable baby on July 19. “Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!” Duggar wrote via Instagram on Monday. She also shared Part 1 of the birth story with the YouTube video seen above.
The happy news comes one year after Jessa suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2020. Needless to say, the couple are over the moon about the newest addition to the family, and first opened up about the little bundle of joy in a February 2021 post. “After the heartbreaking loss of a baby last year, we’re overjoyed to share that another little Seewald is on the way!” the couple said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight at the time.
“The pregnancy is going smoothly, and both baby and Jessa are doing well. We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer.” The Counting On star also shared a sonogram showing their baby resting in her stomach. “We’re looking forward to summertime, and here’s our #1 reason! Thank you, God, for this precious gift! #RainbowBaby,” she wrote.
Followers were quick to send words of support, following her heartbreaking loss the previous year. “Congratulations. Rainbow babies are the sweetest gift. Expecting ours this summer, too,” one fan commented. The couple are already parents to daughter Ivy Jane Seewald, 2, and sons Henry Wilberforce Seewald, 4, and Spurgeon Elliot Seewald, 5.
Jessa actually delivered her daughter on their couch! Her water broke while she was in the kitchen, she explained on the TV special A Baby Girl for Jessa… and her midwife was out of town. Luckily, both mom and bub were healthy and safe! Congratulation to the sweet couple on their growing family.

“Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!” Duggar wrote via Instagram on Monday, July 19, announcing the birth. The TV personality also shared a glimpse at her road to baby via her YouTube channel, documenting the days leading up to their arrival at the hospital on Sunday, July 18.
The 19 Kids and Counting alum, 28, shared her pregnancy news in February with an ultrasound photo. “We’re looking forward to summertime, and here’s our No. 1 reason!” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Thank you, God, for this precious gift!”
Duggar went on to tell Entertainment Tonight in a statement: “After the heartbreaking loss of a baby last year, we’re overjoyed to share that another little Seewald is on the way. We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer.”
Her husband, 26, added that Duggar’s “pregnancy [was] going smoothly” and both she and baby No. 4 were “doing well.”
Six months prior to the Arkansas native’s reveal, she shot down pregnancy rumors after an Instagram troll pointed out a possible bump. “There’s no baby behind the bump — only tacos,” Duggar replied to the August 2020 comment. “Thanks for asking.”
One month earlier, the TLC personality, who is also the parent of sons Spurgeon, 5, and Henry, 4, and daughter Ivey, 2, exclusively told Us Weekly that she has no problem brushing off haters.
“Whenever I look at people who are super, super negative or super hateful in their comments, a lot of times they’re not real people in the sense that, like, it’s an account that has zero posts, zero followers created specifically for hating,” Duggar explained in July 2020. “We just have to remind ourselves, like, we don’t live for the approval of every single person out there. We love each other. We love our kids. We love God and we try to live our lives to please God. … You can’t please every single person out there.”
She and Seewald have managed not to become “jaded” with social media, Duggar added at the time. “We don’t really know the experience of that person and what they’re going through. You know, maybe they’ve had a really rough day … I think it’s important to be understanding and just kind of take people where they’re at.”
The Counting On stars also opened up to Us about their adoption plans, noting that they had “baby fever.” Duggar gushed, “I guess we’re kind of taking it one at a time and we’re thankful for each one.”

Jessa and Ben announced in February that they were expecting their fourth child together after Jessa experienced a pregnancy loss last year.

In her birth announcement post, Jessa directed followers to part one of her birth story YouTube video, saying that part 2 was "coming soon!" The footage began with Jessa, on Tuesday, July 13 at 7:51 p.m., explaining that she had "been having a lot of contractions today but not necessarily like, super painful or anything. Just kind of that dull ache."
The mother of four — who also shares sons Spurgeon, 5, and Henry, 4, and daughter Ivy, 2 with Ben — said that she got both her birth bag and kids' bag packed, as well as the car seat ready to go. "My due date [July 17] is three days away, so it's a little bit early, but I went five days late with my first two pregnancies, went a week and a half early last time, so you just never know."
Asking her three oldest children what their guesses were on the baby's sex, Spurgeon and Henry both said boy while Ivy was encouraged by Spurgeon to also guess they were having a little brother.
Ahead of the baby's arrival, Jessa admitted that she and Ben were still struggling with deciding on the name.
"Ben and I have been sitting on the [sex] here for forever — months and months — and you'd think we'd have a name by now. But it's harder than it seems," she said. "I feel like the more kids you have, the more you've used up, you know, the favorites. And I haven't even always liked the same names from pregnancy to pregnancy. It's kind of changed. I look back on my name list from previous pregnancies and I'm just like, they don't really just — none of them are just like, 'wow.' So I kind of start from scratch. And Ben too."
She added that they "think we have a first name, we're struggling with the middle name, we have about five or six different options, so we'll see. The first two kids were five days old before we settled on a name, which was a long time."
The following day, at 4:04 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, Jessa said in a video update that she had been to the doctor that morning and "everything looks good" and she was "chilling" and "playing some Go Fish" with her kids "to pass the time."
Though she "went on a walk" that morning and "had a few contractions," Jessa said that "everything's kind of died off again."

Then at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, she explained in another recorded update that she had been "having contractions about every 10 minutes for the past couple hours. And I can't sleep."
"I would say they're like, on a scale of one to 10, probably like a seven or an eight. But they're still spaced out, so I get a break," she told viewers. "Definitely feel like the real deal to me. I tend to feel the real labor contractions more in my back and that's what these have been," added Jessa, who said she had been texting with her birth team.
Hours later, at 3:26 p.m., Jessa and Ben were recorded walking through the halls of a hospital, where her contractions were three minutes apart.
"Ready to have this baby!" she wrote as the couple entered an elevator and the video closed with a "to be continued."

In a paper published in Nature genetics today, Scientists from deCODE genetics, a fully owned subsidiary of Amgen, report sequence variants that associate with birth weight and demonstrate how these variants affect birth weight through both the maternal and fetal genomes. Although birth weight is associated with a range of health outcomes, it is debated how much these relationships are through the fetal genome or affected by the intrauterine environment, and hence the maternal genome.

The TLC star, 28, announced the newest addition to her family on her Instagram account on Monday, posting an intimate photo of herself crying as she held the newborn in her arms.

'Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!' she jubilantly announced in the caption.

The caption did not reveal the name or sex of the child.
Jessa also urged fans to check out her YouTube channel, which contained video capturing the days leading up to her big day.
In the video, the reality star talked to her children about their new sibling and showed some of the preparations they had taken for the big day, which included a 'birth bag.'
She also revealed they were grappling over what to name their child: 'It's harder than it seems.'

Jessa had not revealed the sex of the baby, or even the due date — rather, upon announcing the pregnancy, she and Ben said: 'We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer.'

Family matters: Jessa and Ben announced that they are expecting once again in February, and fans speculated on whether she would attempt another home birth after her scary experience with Ivy
Jessa also reflected on the miscarriage she suffered before this pregnancy, admitting to feeling fear and anxiety early on while carrying this time around.
'Going through my first trimester, I think I was pretty nervous, and had a hard time feeling really excited about the pregnancy because I was nervous something might go wrong, and this baby might not make it,' she said.
Local EMTs are sure to be relieved by the news that Jessa plans to give birth in a hospital setting, as they rushed to her home on two previous occasions — with all of the mother-of-three's home births captured on camera for the family's TLC series Counting On.
The joyous occasion comes amid a difficult time for the Duggar family, with disgraced star Josh Duggar being charged with receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material back in May.
In the wake of the controversy, TLC announced in June it had cancelled Counting On.
'TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On,' TLC revealed in a statement to Us Weekly. 'TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.'

Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar’s fourth baby is here! The pair welcomed their baby to the world on Sunday, July 18, or Monday, July 19. The new addition joins Spurgeon, 5, Henry, 4, and Ivy, 2.
As of right now, the couple is keeping a lot of the details to themselves. They haven’t shared the baby’s name, and they have only shared one photo of Jessa with the baby in the hospital, which can be seen below.
Prior to the baby’s arrival, Ben and Jessa didn’t announce the gender publicly. They shared a YouTube video as they went to find out the baby’s gender, but they managed to keep it a secret throughout her pregnancy. This is what Ben and Jessa have done with all of their previous pregnancies as well. In the announcement, Ben and Jessa still didn’t reveal the baby’s gender.
As we reported Monday, it seemed like Jessa could be having the baby very soon as Ben’s mom and sister were at the house with the kids.
The video ends as the pair arrived at the hospital on Sunday. Jessa promises that part two will be uploaded to their YouTube channel soon.
In the comments section of the YouTube video, one fan writes, “A cliff hanger! Welcome to the world new baby Seewald :)))” Another adds, “Congratulations!! I cant wait to hear the rest of the birth story and meet the newest member of your family.”

"Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!" Jessa shared on Instagram, alongside a picture from immediately after the baby's birth.
"Click the link in my bio for Part 1 of the birth story! (Part 2 coming soon!)"
Jessa's family were quick to share their love, with older sister Jill commenting: "Congrats sis! So happy for y’all!!"
Family friend Carlin Bates added: "Just finished watching….So exciting!!! Thank you for letting us watch all the behind the scenes."
Part one was filmed over the days leading up to her labor, and ended on 18 July in the afternoon as Jessa and Ben arrived in hospital. They have not yet shared the baby's name or sex.
The 28-year-old had previously bravely opened up on how "nervous" she has felt during her pregnancy after a devastating miscarriage.
Jessa revealed in February that they are pregnant and expecting their fourth baby. However, the announcement also revealed she had suffered a "devastating" loss in 2020.
Now, the 28-year-old has shared with fans that she "had a hard time being excited" during the early months of her pregnancy.
"But seeing the baby on the ultrasound and knowing everything was progressing well and everything looked healthy, that was encouraging for me," she told fans on her YouTube channel.
"Making it through the first trimester, and then the second trimester, and things continuing to progress well… that's when I was able to allow myself to be more excited and feel less nervous and on edge about the outcome."
"Going through a loss like that is difficult but in a lot of ways it caused me to be more way more grateful and realise what a blessing it is to have a healthy pregnancy and carry a baby to term and not have complications," she concluded.
Jessa and Ben are already parents to Spurgeon, five, Henry, four, and two-year-old Ivy, who celebrated her birthday in May.
The Counting On star regularly shares videos of her life with fans, and recently took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of her youngest daughter Ivy playing with plant soil.
Spurgeon also celebrated a big milestone, with mom Jessa capturing the moment he lost his first tooth.
