Katy Perry Tells Luke Bryan She’d Rather ‘Cuddle With My Daughter’ Than Shave Her Legs

ETCanada.com 10 May, 2021 - 10:11am

Leg hair is no problem for Katy Perry.

On Sunday the “American Idol” judge shared a video on her Instagram Story of an exchange with co-star Luke Bryan about shaving her legs.

“I know you’re a mom and everything, but we gotta do something about this leg hair,” Bryan joked to the camera.

“No, I don’t got time!” Perry responded. “I’d rather cuddle with my daughter!”

Bryan tried to add, “It is literally…” but Perry cut him off with a simple, “Yeah!”

Perry has joked about her leg hair before, telling contestant Cassandra Coleman after a performance on the show, “As a new mother, I don’t have very much time, so I have quit shaving my legs. But when you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch and a half. So, full-body chills.”

Katy Perry lands NZ$10.25 million for her Beverly Hills guesthouse

Stuff.co.nz 10 May, 2021 - 10:06am

After listing the home for NZ$10.9 million last year, the pop star just sold it for NZ$10.25 million – a profit of NZ$34,000, compared to what she paid for the Beverly Hills Post Office property in 2018.

The singer of Roar and Firework still has a few other places to stay in Southern California, including a larger house right down the street that she bought for NZ$24.7 million in 2017. Last year, Perry and her fiancée, Orlando Bloom, shelled out NZ$19.5 million for a mansion in Montecito.

At 410 square metres, the guesthouse is the smallest of her three properties. Tucked in the guard-gated enclave of Hidden Valley, it features an unorthodox entry in which visitors must walk the length of the home to the front door, passing by a manicured lawn with an oval-shaped swimming pool.

Traditional-style spaces make up the main level, including a living room with a fireplace, dining room with French doors and family room with built-ins and a bar.

The second storey is divided into two separate wings; one holds a primary suite with dual closets and a sitting room, and the other adds two bedroom suites and a gym. Multiple balconies overlook the landscaped grounds below, which cover about an acre.

A native of Santa Barbara, Perry has released six studio albums over the last two decades with hits such as Dark Horse, Teenage Dream and I Kissed a Girl. The 36-year-old released her latest record, Smile, last August and gave birth to her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, the same month.

Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland held the listing. Josh Flagg of Rodeo Realty Beverly Hills represented the buyer.

Katy Perry's Unimpressed Response to Orlando Bloom's Mother's Day Post Is the Funniest Thing Ever

Cosmopolitan.com 10 May, 2021 - 06:48am

There was truly an abundance of cute celeb moments on Mother's Day this weekend, and in case you missed it, Orlando Bloom hopped on Instagram to pay tribute to Katy Perry. And bless him, the post was so sweet! But yeah, Katy's comment was better.

Ahem: "Got myself a real catch," Orlando mused along with a photoshopped pic of himself holding Katy as a mermaid. "Sending love and respect to all the amazing people who have shaped our lives, supported us and loved us unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day."

Katy's response? Literally "baby pls can you bring me a bengal spice tea."

Meanwhile, Katy also celebrated Mother's Day with her own post, writing on Twitter "i found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother. so grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. happiest Mother’s Day."

i found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother. so grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. happiest Mother’s Day ♥️🌼

Back in December, Katy opened up about some of the challenges that go into becoming a new mom (hint: sleepless nights!), saying "I’m a new mother. My daughter—she’s such a gift—but there is sometimes a challenge concerning sleep! No matter how much support you have. But where am I going to get those six hours that I used to get? Where did it go?"

She added that transcendental meditation has helped her, saying "There’s been so many different ways TM has blessed me, but in this particular moment, as a new mother, I take 20 minutes. Not only do I find the deepest rest that I need, that my body is desperate for—but it feels like I’ve stolen two plus hours, maybe three hours, from the clock.”

Katy Perry Shuts Down Luke Bryan for Telling Her to "Do Something" About Her Leg Hair - E! Online

E! NEWS 10 May, 2021 - 06:19am

The 36-year-old "Teenage Dream" star shared footage to her Instagram Story on Sunday, May 9 of an exchange between herself and Luke Bryan on the American Idol set. In the video, the 44-year-old country singer seemingly implored Katy to be more vigilant about shaving her leg hair.

"I know you're a mom and everything, but we gotta do something about this leg hair," Luke told the camera with a smile.

Katy then panned the camera down to her leg, which appeared to have some subtle hairs showing. But she made it abundantly clear she has no intention of prioritizing body-hair removal.

"No, I don't got time!" Katy replied with enthusiasm, citing her busy schedule with young daughter Daisy Dove. "I'd rather cuddle with my daughter!"

Luke apparently tried to bolster his point by starting to say, "It is literally..." But Katy playfully cut him off by yelling, "Yeah!"

This is not the first time that the "Roar" vocalist's leg hair has been a topic for discussion during American Idol's filming.

As part of her feedback to contestant Cassandra Coleman on the April 4 episode, Katy shared, "As a new mother, I don't have very much time, so I have quit shaving my legs. But when you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch and a half. So, full-body chills."

Katy then propped her feet up on the judges' table, and Luke took a look before exclaiming, "She literally has leg hair!" This led host Ryan Seacrest to quip, "Thank you for the forensic report."

Katy Perry Clearly Isn't Impressed by Orlando Bloom's Mother's Day Tribute to Her

Yahoo! Voices 10 May, 2021 - 12:33am

The 44-year-old Carnival Row star took to Instagram on Sunday, May 9 to share a heartfelt message for his fiancée on her first Mother's Day since the couple welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in August.

As part of the tribute, Orlando—who also shares 10-year-old son Flynn with ex Miranda Kerr—reposted a wacky fan-generated image showing himself holding a miniature version of the mermaid Katy dressed as for a Resorts World Las Vegas ad campaign last month.

"Got myself a real catch [fish and heart emojis]," he wrote about Katy. "Sending love and respect to all the amazing people who have shaped our lives, supported us and loved us unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day."

However, Katy's comment proved she was hoping Orlando would demonstrate his affection for her in a more practical way. "baby pls can you bring me a bengal spice tea," the 36-year-old "Firework" singer hilariously and unsentimentally wrote.

Certainly, no one can blame the mom for wanting a mug of the soothing, chai-style tea, especially since she was set to film American Idol later that day. And while Orlando didn't respond to her comment, and there was no further clarification on whether she was referring to a previous request for him to deliver the drink, plenty of her fans got a kick out of her message.

One fan replied, "omg the best tea flavor ever! Also makes a real good iced sweet tea." A different individual added, "make that two please. Hehe."

A third follower wrote, "best response to a Husband/boyfriend ever!"

Orlando can take solace in knowing his original post didn't go completely ignored, as Demi Lovato responded to it with three crying-while-laughing emojis.

Clearly, Katy and Orlando have a playful relationship in which they can tease and joke around with each other. After all, her comment here is reminiscent of one Orlando himself wrote on her post from last month while she was showing off a new hairstyle.

"Baby," the Pirates of the Caribbean actor commented at the time, "we're all out of oat milk." In other words, perhaps Orlando has no one to blame but himself for setting the tone of this nonchalant feedback.

Still, Katy took the time to share her excitement about Mother's Day in her own way. On May 9, she tweeted, "i found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother. so grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. happiest Mother's Day."

That same day, she also posted a carousel of pics to Instagram showing herself in a few poses, and her caption referred to herself as "1 hawt momma."

As fans recall, Katy sang in her party-focused hit "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" about taking "too many shots." But these days, she longs for a very different kind of refreshment, and she's not ashamed to nudge her partner about it.

The actor shared old family photos, including a "Wizard of Oz"-themed Halloween outing.

Any soul watching the BBC’s new rendering of The Pursuit of Love for a frisson of sexual desire between Dominic West, who plays Uncle Matthew, and Lily James, his on-screen daughter Linda (they were rumoured to have had a brief affair until the tabloids consumed them) should firstly be ashamed of themselves, and, secondly, will be otherwise disappointed. I suspect that at heart Uncle Matthew has shell shock from the war – what would a younger Anthony Hopkins do with the part? – but West plays him for laughs because Nancy Mitford wrote him that way, and it is easier work. In his scenes with Lily James, who is full of sensibility and longing, he merely smirks, much as he did during the gruesome post-exposure photocall with his wife. Where is his bass note? West is a likeable actor – he is all shoulders and grins – but he is not a great one. If there was any emotional dribble from his personal conflicts, it made his performance worse. Uncle Matthew is a raging and uxorious man; West plays him as pleased with himself, while being a depressive, and it does not make sense. There are two performances in The Pursuit of Love that shine with sexual repression. One is Emily Mortimer as Linda’s aunt and warning from history, the Bolter, who today would be called a sex and love addict. Mortimer directed The Pursuit of Love, and is both responsible for its female gaze, and one of the best things in it. You can’t hate the Bolter – she lives in an ever-receding dreamland – and in Mortimer’s hands she is fragile, heartbreaking and very funny. The other is the superb Andrew Scott as the presumably gay Lord Merlin, the neighbour who tries to educate and protect Linda from herself. He is brittle and tender; grey and colourful; stone and water. Since we should assume that Mortimer and Scott weren’t chewing each other up offscreen, the idea that an affair will enhance a performance is as dead as Uncle Matthew’s unfortunate pheasants.

VicefexpIn I, Sniper, Lee Boyd Malvo speaks at length about the 2002 reign of terror he and partner John Allen Muhammad carried out in the Washington, D.C., area, resulting in ten deaths. Yet despite using audio clips from his phone calls as narration, Vice’s eight-part docuseries (premiering May 10) is most notable for putting its prime emphasis on the pair’s innocent victims, and the countless friends, family members and loved ones left to cope with unthinkable tragedy. To its admirable credit, it’s a true-crime affair that seeks to understand its “monsters” while simultaneously recognizing—and highlighting—the fact that such comprehension doesn’t necessitate empathy, especially when the atrocities in question are as inexcusably heinous as these.Spearheaded by director Ursula Macfarlane, I, Sniper’s calling card is those phone conversations with Malvo from Virginia’s Red Onion State Prison, where he’s currently serving multiple life sentences. In them, the killer recounts, in exacting and chilling detail, both the sniper attacks he perpetrated as a 17-year-old, and the troubled upbringing in Jamaica that led him into the welcoming arms of Muhammad, a Gulf War veteran with a surplus of rage and a desire to unleash it on his homeland. Abandoned by his dad, abused by his mom, and eventually left to fend for himself, Malvo found in Muhammad a father figure who promised to love him as he did his own biological offspring. From the outset, though, theirs was a bond built on exploitation, with Muhammad becoming not only Malvo’s surrogate parent, but also his lover—as well as his mentor, pouring all of his long-simmering hate and resentment into the impressionable, desperate-for-acceptance teen. The Tragic End to Wrestling’s First Great ‘Madman’Muhammad’s gripes were many—he despised the military, white people, and just about every American institutional structure. However, he reserved his greatest enmity for second ex-wife Mildred, who dared to take back her kids after Muhammad had kidnapped them. The loss of his (abducted) brood seems to have been the proverbial match that lit Muhammad’s homicidal spark, and he soon began molding Malvo into his instrument of destruction. Friends and relatives suspected that something was up with their relationship, but no one foresaw what was to come: the cold-blooded murder of Keenya Cook, the niece of Mildred’s friend in Tacoma, Washington, followed by violent robberies, shootings and slayings in Arizona, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia. All of those initial acts were merely a test run for Malvo and Muhammad’s grand scheme in Washington, D.C., the epicenter of American power, and thus Muhammad’s venue of choice to strike fear into the heart of the republic by proving that everyone was vulnerable—even children. What transpired was a 22-day nightmare in which 13 individuals (white and Black, young and old, well-off and working-class) were shot, 10 of them fatally, in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Because Malvo and Muhammad’s intention was to terrorize in increasingly escalating fashion, each victim was chosen at random at gas stations, on street corners, and in parking lots that afforded the killers ideal vantage points and easy escape routes. They committed these crimes in a customized 1990 blue Chevy Caprice, with Malvo lying in the trunk and firing through the rear keyhole. It was a stealthy plot, and the two benefited from the fact that an early eyewitness said they’d seen a white box truck near the scene—thereby sending police, for the better part of the next three weeks, on a wild goose chase for the wrong vehicle. With no other ballistics-related leads, law enforcement was stymied, which proved to Malvo that Muhammad was right: no one could stop them from exacting their revenge. The question, of course, is revenge against what? I, Sniper connects the dots of Malvo and Muhammad’s troubled pasts and despicable 2002 presents, but no convincing argument is made that Muhammad—the mastermind behind this madness—had suffered losses that weren’t of his own making. Be it his unhinged military tenure, his marital craziness, or his transformation of Malvo into an assassin, Muhammad comes across as a man righteously angry over things that were his own fault. As for Malvo, his cold, clinical recitation of his murderous conduct (and claims of remorse) neuters any sorrow one might feel for his adolescent travails. His present-day compunction is far too little, too late, just as the case he makes for his own victimhood vis-à-vis Muhammad sounds like an accurate and yet insufficient explanation. He knew that gunning down men, women and children was dreadfully wrong, and yet in order to maintain Muhammad’s affection, he actively, and enthusiastically, chose to do it—and even got a thrilling kick from it, as he explains that post-shooting sex with Muhammad was exceptionally exciting and delivered a “high.”Malvo and Muhammad’s rampage of “retribution and punishment” was unforgivable; as Montgomery County Police Chief Charles A. Moose says, “There’s just no excuse for their behavior. None whatsoever.” To hammer home that point, I, Sniper consistently juxtaposes Malvo’s recollections with prolonged, heartrending interviews with the wives, brothers, aunts and friends of the duo’s victims, as well as some of those who survived their encounters. Those accounts turn out to be vital, providing an up-close-and-personal view of the anguish and trauma that Malvo and Muhammad brought about, and the lingering scars left by this ordeal. They’re the human face of this awful tale, stricken with grief, regret, guilt and fury over senseless crimes that robbed them of loved ones who were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.Comprised of news reports, crime scene footage, 911 calls, Malvo-penned illustrations, maps and chats with patrolmen, detectives, reporters and doctors, I, Sniper is comprehensive enough to earn the description “definitive.” Yet more than its insight into the mind of its young subject—and, by extension, Muhammad, who was executed in 2009 by lethal injection—what separates it from much of the true-crime pack is its dogged refusal to forget the real, incalculable horror at the center of its story. Malvo is frequently heard but never seen, while the countenances of his and Muhammad’s victims (and those close to them) remain front-and-center throughout. That directorial decision is critical and commendable, allowing the series to pay fitting tribute to the individuals who deserve to be remembered, while keeping its central villain largely faceless, in the dark and out of sight, where he chose to live and kill with his murderous mentor, and where he’ll now remain for the remainder of his days.Read more at The Daily Beast.Get our top stories in your inbox every day. Katy Perry marks her first Mother’s Day since welcoming daughter with Orlando Bloom

Geo News 10 May, 2021 - 12:00am

American singer Katy Perry is celebrating her first Mother’s Day since giving birth to her daughter Daisy Dove.

"I found everything i was ever searching for when I became a mother. So grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. Happiest Mother's Day," she wrote.

On the other hand, her fiancé and actor Orlando Bloom also paid tribute to the singer as he turned to Instagram with a photoshopped picture of Perry as a mermaid.

He wrote: “Got myself a real catch. Sending love and respect to all the amazing people who have shaped our lives, supported us and loved us unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day.”

Entertainment Tonight 09 May, 2021 - 11:35pm

"I found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother," tweeted Perry, who welcomed daughter Daisy Dove with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, back in August.

The pop icon said she is "so grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. Happiest Mother’s Day!"

i found everything i was ever searching for when i became a mother. so grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. happiest Mother’s Day ♥️🌼

Meanwhile, Bloom also celebrated his lady love's first Mother's Day with a hilariously weird photoshopped image showing him on a fishing trip holding a miniature version of Perry, dressed like a mermaid.

"Got myself a real catch," Bloom quipped. "Sending love and respect to all the amazing people who have shaped our lives, supported us and loved us unconditionally. Happy Mother’s Day."

Perry also felt some love on Sunday's brand new American Idol, which featured two rounds of competition -- the first based on Coldplay songs and featuring Chris Martin as a mentor, and the second themed around Mother's Day, and songs dedicated to the Idol hopefuls' own moms.

ET's Lauren Zima spoke with Perry and her fellow Idol judges -- Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan -- after Sunday's show, and the singer opened up about how it felt to celebrate her first Mother's Day.

"It feels fulfilling. It's beautiful," Perry shared. "I now know the unconditional love and I'm so happy to celebrate it today."

As for how she and her adorable family commemorated the day, Perry said the best gift was getting to spend time with her baby girl.

"We celebrated yesterday knowing I had to work today... I got to sleep with her, we had a nap for three hours and I held her hand and it made me so happy," Perry recalled. "That was my way of celebrating."

The two-hour episode featured a number of memorable performances as the Top 7 duked it out for a spot in the Top 5. Live voting took place during the episode, so the two contestants to get the axe were revealed at the end of the episode.

After performing one Coldplay tune and then one song dedicated to their mothers, America voted to see more of Caleb Kennedy, Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler and Willie Spence. This means Hunter Metts and returning contestant Arthur Gunn were sent packing.

This heated season of American Idol picks up next Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Katy Perry Says 'I Found Everything I Was Ever Searching for When I Became' Mom to Daughter Daisy Dove

Yahoo! Voices 09 May, 2021 - 08:00pm

Katy Perry has a lot to be thankful for this Mother's Day.

On Sunday, the "Roar" singer, 36, celebrated the holiday for the first time as a mom after welcoming daughter Daisy Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom last August.

"I found everything i was ever searching for when I became a mother. So grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club. Happiest Mother's Day," the American Idol judge wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Bloom, 44, dedicated a post to Perry on Instagram. "Got myself a real catch. 🐠 ❤️," the dad of two wrote along with a photoshopped image of his fiancée as a mermaid. "Sending love and respect to all the amazing people who have shaped our lives, supported us and loved us unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day."

Last month, the musician opened up about her experience as a first-time mom in a conversation with Bloom's ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

"It's the best job. It's the most fulfilling," Perry said. "There was no feeling like the feeling when I had my daughter. That was like all the love I was ever searching for what like 'Bam.'"

The "Daisies" singer said that, while much of the love and validation she's felt throughout her life has been linked to the success of her career, she was floored by the unconditional love of having a child.

"The love from your children is constant and unconditional and isn't based on what you have, what you don't have, what career, what product and that's definitely made me feel so full to know that there's this unwavering and unconditional love," she said.

Perry continued, "I'm so glad I made the conscious decision to actually try and do that because I didn't want to miss out on that opportunity…It's been the best thing."
