Nicole Brown's sister Tanya Brown has called out Kim Kardashian for making 'distasteful' jokes about OJ Simpson during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live

According to TMZ, Tanya has said the jibes were 'beyond inappropriate and insensitive' and is now questioning how much the family actually care about her late sister.

Kim's father Robert Kardashian famously got his friend and client Simpson acquitted of Nicole's murder in 1994, after she was stabbed to death along with her friend Ron Goldman.

During the SNL segment Kim joked her father introduced her to the first black person she had ever met, asking the audience to 'take a stab in the dark' as to who it was.

Tanya reportedly added to the outlet that it was also upsetting to hear the live audience roar with laughter at the jokes.

Kim also addressed Simpson's sordid past in her bit, saying having known Simpson 'it does leave a mark... or several. Or none at all. I still don't know,' she joked.

Despite a trial with both circumstantial and physical evidence linking Simpson to the killings, he was acquitted of all charges, though later he was found liable for the deaths in a 1997 civil lawsuit.

Kim's mother Kris Jenner - who took part in a few skits on SNL - was best friends Nicole Brown Simpson before she died.

In an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that aired in 2019, Kris got emotional talking about her late friend.

Fighting back tears Jenner said 'I wasn't going to cry,' adding: 'I think I’ve realized that I've latched onto the legal side of stuff, rather than deal with the emotional side of myself that just misses my girlfriend.'

Actress Selma Blair played Kris Jenner in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy's dramatization of Simpson's murder trial.

Past: Kim's father Robert Kardashian famously got his friend and client Simpson acquitted of Nicole's murder in 1994 (Nicole and OJ Simpson pictured in 1989)

Talking about the situation at the time, Jenner said that her heart 'still breaks' when she thinks about the alleged abuse Nicole suffered in the hands of ex-husband Simpson.

'I saw all the pictures and the police reports, and I heard the tapes of her calling 911, and that was stuff I didn’t know anything about [at the time],' she told Entertainment Weekly.

'It's wild that she kept that from us. So I feel bad. I beat myself up because I feel like I wasn’t paying attention. Like, How did I miss this?'

Kim Kardashian's O.J. Simpson Joke Flops With Bereaved Family

Nicole Brown Simpson's Sister Calls Kim Kardashian's O.J. Simpson Joke on SNL 'Inappropriate'

PEOPLE 14 October, 2021 - 01:20am

From the moment fans met female Jango Fett clone, Omega (Michelle Ang), in the first episode of Dave Filoni’s latest animated series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, there was something special about the little girl who had never ventured beyond Kamino.

Soon, however, Omega had her fill of intergalactic adventure — alongside Clone Force 99 troopers Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Echo (Dee Bradley Baker) — when she escaped from the Galactic Empire’s hold on Kamino following the execution of Emperor Palpatine’s Order 66.

As The Bad Batch and their young charge traversed the Star Wars galaxy (sound familiar, Mandalorian fans?), Omega’s secrets began to emerge.

Not only did it become clear that the little girl was actually older than the “defective” clone troopers in Clone Force 99, but we discovered that she could actually be the key to creating the “perfect” clone in the Star Wars universe.

Unlike Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) father — a failed Palpatine clone who was attractive, but not Force-sensitive — or Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) — strong with the Force, but horribly deformed — in the sequel trilogy, Omega is both beautiful and, seemingly, a powerful Force wielder.

And, perhaps most shocking to Star Wars fans, we learned that Omega is actually notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett’s “sister”. This, of course, led the fan community to speculate that an older, live-action version of Omega could appear in Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett) and Ming-Na Wen’s (Fennec Shand) The Book of Boba Fett, which is set to premier on December 29, 2021.

Now, it seems that fans might get much more than a live-action Omega cameo — there just might be an entire series featuring a grown-up Omega in the works.

Per a new report:

According to the rumor, early concept art for the “gritty” show features the female bounty hunter wearing black and red armor, not dissimilar from that worn by Clone Force 99. This has lead to rampant speculation that the lead character in the series can’t be anyone but Omega.

At this time, however, neither Lucasfilm nor The Walt Disney Company have confirmed anything about an upcoming live-action Omega-centric series. However, Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be back for Season 2 in 2022.
