Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett announced their two final shows together.

The dynamic duo confirmed on Twitter the pair of shows will be called, "One Last Time: an Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga," and take place on August 3 and August 5 at the famed Radio City Music Hall.

Gaga, 35, and Bennett, 94, made their first album together, "Cheek to Cheek," in 2014, and recently completed their second album.

The first show on Aug. 3 will also be a celebration of Bennett's 95th birthday.

"It's been too long! Ready for live music again? Join @LadyGaga & me at @RadioCity August 3rd & 5th. Am looking forward to be on the Great Stage again, and can't wait to see you there!" the crooner wrote on Twitter.

"One Last Time! An evening with @itstonybennett and me at Radio City Music Hall on August 3rd & 5th. I am so honored and excited to celebrate Tony’s 95th birthday with him at these special shows," Gaga said.

Back in February 2021, Bennett announced in an interview with AARP magazine, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2016.

"Life is a gift – even with Alzheimer’s. Thank you to [his wife] Susan and my family for their support, and AARP," the legend wrote Twitter, adding, "The Magazine for telling my story."

In the story, Susan said Bennett is "not always sure where he is or what is happening around him" but that music is helping his brain health.

"There’s a lot about him that I miss," Susan noted. "Because he’s not the old Tony anymore. But when he sings, he’s the old Tony."

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are reuniting on stage for "One Last Time."

The longtime friends and collaborators will be performing for a two night concert titled "One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga" on August 3 and August 5 to celebrate Bennett's 95th birthday, Gaga announced on Twitter Monday.

"I am so honored and excited to celebrate Tony’s 95th birthday with him at these special shows," Gaga tweeted.

The shows will take place at Radio City in New York and will be Bennett's last performances in the city, according to a release.

Earlier this year, during an interview with AARP, Bennett revealed he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016.

He had not yet experienced common symptoms like disorientation or episodes of terror, rage or depression, according to the interview, "but there was little doubt that the disease had progressed."

Gayatri Devi, M.D., a neurologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, who diagnosed Bennett, said the singer has some “cognitive issues, but multiple other areas of his brain are still resilient and functioning well."

Bennett's wife Susan Crow and eldest son Danny were also part of the interview.

Danny said he checked in with Gaga about breaking the silence around his diagnosis.

“I wanted to check with her to make sure she was cool,” Danny said. “because she watches his back all the time. She was like, ‘Absolutely, it's just another gift that he can give to the world.' "

In the interview, the 94-year-old singer also shared he and Gaga have a new album coming out, following their 2014 album "Cheek to Cheek." The album, which recorded between 2018 and early 2020, was set for a spring release.

Lady Gaga to perform with Tony Bennett 'One Last Time' at special NYC shows

EW.com 19 July, 2021 - 08:40am

Live Nation unveiled Monday that Gaga and Bennett will perform two shows, titled One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, at Radio City Music Hall on Aug. 3 and 5 as their only joint public concerts in support of their new album set to be released later this year.

"I am so honored and excited to celebrate Tony's 95th birthday with him at these special shows," Gaga tweeted, as Bennett's birthday falls on the first night of the performances.

After nearly a decade of making music together, Gaga and Bennett have recorded a new album together through the latter's 2016 diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease. Bennett's wife, Susan Benedetto, recently told AARP that his doctor recommended the music icon keep up with music as the disease progressed, as the art form has been shown to help connect patients with their surroundings.

Gaga first worked with Bennett on a cover of Mitzi Green's "The Lady Is a Tramp" for his 2011 album Duets II, and they later collaborated on the 2014 jazz album Cheek to Cheek, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned a successful nationwide tour.

One Last Time tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, with presale tickets for Citi members going on sale Wednesday on Live Nation's website.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga to Pair Up for Final Shows Together in August

Variety 19 July, 2021 - 08:22am

By Chris Willman

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will join forces for a pair of shows at Radio City Music Hall in August that are being billed as their final appearances together, reps for the two singers announced Monday morning.

The “One Last Time: an Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga” shows will take place August 3 and 5, with a special credit-card pre-sale beginning Wednesday and a general ticket release on Thursday. All ticketholders will be required to show proof of vaccination.

The first of the two nights is Bennett’s 95th birthday. The reason for advertising these as the final shows the two will do together may have less to do with his advanced age, though, than the fact that Bennett was diagnosed with dementia five years ago — a condition that was discovered in 2016, but not revealed to the public until early 2021. In the intervening years, his condition progressed slowly enough that he was able to continue to tour and record.

Indeed, Gaga and Bennett recently made a second album together that will be released later this year, a successor to 2014’s chart-topping, Grammy-winning “Cheek to Cheek.”

The initial block of tickets is being released to Citi card members and will go on sale at Livenation.com at 10 a.m. Wednesday in local time zones, with the general set for the same time the following day.

No phones will be allowed inside the venue, reps say, and attendants will collect attendees’ smart devices and put them in Yondr pouches that can only be opened in lobby unlocking stations.

The duo previously performed two shows at Radio City Music Hall in 2015.

“We couldn’t be prouder to host such a special engagement with two of the most iconic entertainers of our time,” said Darren Pfeffer, executive VP of live at Madison Square Garden Entertainment. “Both Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga are synonymous with New York City, making the great stage at Radio City Music Hall the perfect place to honor their decade long friendship and celebrate Mr. Bennett’s 95th birthday,.”
