New book chapters could be 'final straw for Harry with royals'

Irish Mirror 04 May, 2021 - 01:00pm

A new edition of a revelatory royal biography about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could 'ruin any chance of reconciliation' with the royal family, an expert has said.

The updated version of Finding Freedom, due to be released this summer, will further dig into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's lives after a drama filled year for the couple.

But Palace insider and biographer Duncan Larcombe said it could be 'the final straw' depending on what is written.

Mr Larcombe told Closer Magazine that the new chapters could be 'telling'.

He said: "If more negative information comes out about the royals, or in-depth details of any personal conversations between Harry and his family after the funeral are revealed, that really will be the final straw.

“That’ll be it – there will be no chance of a reconciliation ever and all trust will be broken.

"How could anyone from the royal family trust them again if the intimate details of conversations were leaked?"

New chapters in the book will cover the Oprah Winfrey interview, allegations against Meghan over the bullying of royal staff, which she denies, and Prince Philip’s death, the Times reports.

Harry and Meghan's enormous Netflix and Spotify deals, as well as their new life in America and the Queen's decision to strip them of their royal patronages, will also be discussed.

A senior courtier told the Times: “The Oprah interview detonated a bomb under the royal family and most of them are still reeling in shock.

Another senior royal source said: “After Oprah, what else is there to say?”

The updated book will be released on August 5.

The latest version is likely to vanquish any notions members of the Firm had of a quiet summer after a hectic year.

Is Prince Harry facing consequences after Oprah tell-all? Royal experts sound off

Woman & Home 03 May, 2021 - 03:59pm

• Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, alleges that the former royal is now regretting his sit-down with Oprah—and possibly even his exit from the British monarch.

• Duncan has gone so far as to say that there could be "tough times ahead" for Prince Harry and his relatives.

• In other royal news, an adorable new photo of Princess Charlotte has been released to celebrate her 6th birthday.

According to Page Six, Duncan Larcombe has been making the rounds amongst U.K. media outlets, explaining that the Duke of Sussex cannot possibly coexist with his wife Meghan Markle and the royal family after the accusations he brought to the forefront. He thinks Prince Harry is not only regretting sitting down for the interview but believes the soon-to-be father of two is feeling awkward interacting with his family.

The world quite closely watched for any awkwardness between Prince Harry and his relatives during Prince Philip's funeral. Although Kate Middleton seemed to act as the peacemaker between Harry and William the day of, other sources seem to think that—despite going "all the way there" during the Oprah interview—Prince Harry appeared relatively comfortable while back in the U.K. Robert Lacey exclusively revealed to People that the two brothers "drifted to each other like the old days." Then, you have other experts who claim Prince Charles is looking to "cut down" ties to certain members of the royal family, assuming this means Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

All in all, experts have quite a bit to say on the subject—and not all of the ideas are harmonious. One thing everyone does seem to agree on? The fact that Prince Harry is a lot like Princess Diana—and his appearance at Vax Live is proof.
