UNIONDALE, NEW YORK - JUNE 23: The New York Islanders celebrate after their 3-2 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Semifinals during the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Nassau Coliseum on June 23, 2021 in Uniondale, New York. The New York Islanders won a dramatic Game 6 last night to extend the series to seven games. They found themselves down 2-0 but were able to fight back to force overtime and then Anthony Beauvillier played hero.

It was the biggest game the Nassau Coliseum has seen in probably 35 years, and boy did it live up to the hype. The crowd was epic, as expected.

Before the game, Nicole Raviv and the crowd sang the anthem together, which is now tradition and it was goosebump-inducing.

From the jump, the crowd was ready to go. Well, fast forward to overtime and it went to another level. I didn’t think it was possible, but the decibel level was absolutely insane when Anthony Beauvillier scored the game-winner.

With Chris King on the mic for the radio call, it made for a pretty epic call as you could barely hear his emphatic screams through the roar of the crowd.

No joke, I think I’ve listened to this call 20 times since the game ended just 10 hours ago. The raw emotion in his voice is absolutely perfect as you hear the crowd in the background losing their collective minds.

If anyone needed to score last night it was Anthony Beauvillier. Before last night, Beauvillier hadn’t scored a goal since Game 1 of the Boston series. That’s 10 games in a row without a goal for someone who got out of the gate in the playoffs so hot.

You can say the same thing for Jordan Eberle, who scored the first goal, as well. He went six games without a goal and has just four in 18 playoff games so far.

The Islanders did it. They forced a Game 7 and will play for the right to go to the Stanley Cup Final on Friday night. I can’t believe I just typed out that sentence, what a world.
