When is September Community Day in Pokemon go?

Pokémon Go is hosting its Oshawott Community Day, which will take place on Sept. 19, 2021. Our Pokémon Go Oshawott Community Day guide includes all of Oshawott's Community Day's perks, the exclusive move Oshawott's evolution learns, and the ways to make the most of your Community Day. PolygonPokémon Go Oshawott Community Day moveset and event guide

The usual Community Day perks, like increased spawn and Shiny rate, will be active on Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time.

Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if you’re playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Oshawott.

If you don’t have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Oshawott by popping an Incense, and tapping each Oshawott that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find a Shiny Oshawott quickly.

Based on past years, if you miss the Community Day period, you’ll likely be able to evolve your Oshawott during the December Community Weekend event to get its move. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.

In PvE content, Samurott does fairly well, alongside the other water-type starter Pokémon. For raids and gyms, set it up with Waterfall and Hydro Cannon.

In PvP, Samurott is fine but not ideal. You can set it up with Fury Cutter with Megahorn and Hydro Cannon if you really want to use it.

Any XP gained from catching Pokémon will be tripled, so if you’re going to be out catching a lot of Pokémon, you should consider using a Lucky Egg to boost that XP even further. Incense used during the event will also last a whopping three hours, so you should use one (if you have one) to increase your Oshawott spawns further.

Pokemon Go From Scalchops to Seamitars Research Tasks and Rewards

Future Game Releases 19 September, 2021 - 11:21am

The Scalchops to Seamitars Special Research quest is a four-step Research featuring various tasks and rewards. Unfortunately, this is not a free event, and only ticket holders will be able to access the Oshawott Community Day exclusive Special Research story, From Scalchops to Seamitars.

These are all of the tasks and rewards for the From Scalchops to Seamitars Special Research quest.

From Scalchops to Seamitars Step 1

From Scalchops to Seamitars Step 2

From Scalchops to Seamitars Step 3

From Scalchops to Seamitars Step 4

Hey there, %PLAYERNAME%! I came across a truly surprising sight recently while going for a walk—trees in the nearby forest were covered with slash marks!

I’ve heard of a Pokémon called Oshawott, the Sea Otter Pokémon, that can detach the scalchop on its stomach for use as a blade. Maybe the slash marks were caused by all of the Oshawott nearby?

Let's use this as an opportunity to go and catch some of those Oshwott so we can find out more!

Hey %PLAYERNAME%! Did you know that Oshawott doesn't just use the scalchop on its stomach to fight, but that it can be used to break open hard berries as well?

Maybe we can learn even more about Oshawott once it evolves into its next Evolution: Dewott! Don’t let its cute exterior fool you—Dewott takes itself very seriously.

Also known as the Discipline Pokémon, this little fella uses strict training to learn its flowing double-scalchop technique. I’d love to see Dewott’s fighting in action!

Wow, Dewott's double-scalchop technique is amazing! Aren’t Pokémon so curious, %PLAYERNAME%!

I barely have the coordination to rub my tummy and pat my head at the same time and we have creatures that have their own special battle techniques. Truly inspiring stuff!

I’m starting to understand a bit more about this Pokémon now. And I have an inkling that we’ll get to learn even more soon!

It’s Evolution, Samurott, apparently uses swords incorporated in its armor called seamitars. Apparently in the time it takes a foe to blink, it can draw and sheathe the seamitars attached to its front legs.

Sounds like it’s a true master of its craft! No wonder it’s known as the Formidable Pokémon! Let’s evolve Dewott and see this mastery for ourselves, %PLAYERNAME%?

Well would you look at that, %PLAYERNAME%, a Samurott in the flesh! It’s seamitars truly are a sight to behold. Knowing it can draw and sheathe its blades in a blink of an eye, I wonder how fast it can dice up berries…

Thanks for all your help today, %PLAYERNAME%. We’ve learned so much about Oshawott, Dewott, and Samurott—and from them too! I’ll SEA you next time! Ha-ha!

Pokemon Go Samurott best moveset: Is Razor Shell any good?

Dexerto 19 September, 2021 - 11:21am

The latest Pokemon Go Community Day is focused on the adorable Unova starter Oshawott. As well as bonuses and Special Research, this event gives players the perfect chance to stock up on Candy and evolve Oshawott into Samurott.

The bad news is that Samurott isn’t the most useful Water-type fighter in Pokemon Go, but the good news is that evolving a Samurott during the Community Day will net you the Unova starter’s best Charged Move, Hyro Pump!

During and after the September Community Day, Samurott will also be able to learn a brand new Charged Move, Razor Shell. Below, we’re going to explore that move’s potential, as well as the best overall moveset to teach Samurott.

Hydro Pump makes sense as your priority Charged Move, as it deals huge damage and benefits from STAB. If you can afford a second Charged Move, go with the Bug-type Megahorn as it’s super-effective against Grass-types and should help with Samurott’s major Grass weakness.

Samurott can learn two Fast Moves and four Charged Moves which spread across three different types: Water, Bug, and Ice. We’ve listed them all below.

However, when the powerful Hydro Pump only costs 5 more energy to use – and deals 45 more damage if it manages to get through your opponent’s shields – it doesn’t make much sense to choose Razor Shell over this classic move.

If you’d still like to try out Razor Shell for yourself, Samurott will be able to learn it with a Charged TM any time during and after the Oshawott Community Day, which takes place on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Pokemon Go Oshawott Community Day: Everything You Need to Know

ComicBook.com 19 September, 2021 - 07:39am

Pokemon Go's latest Community Day is here, with a focus on the Water-type Starter Pokemon Oshawott. Pokemon Go is hosting its monthly Community Day today starting at 11 AM local time. This month's Community Day will focus on Oshawott, one of the Starter Pokemon from Pokemon Black and White. While Oshawott and its evolved forms won't make any waves in Pokemon Go's competitive scene, many Pokemon Go players are still excited about getting their hands on a Shiny Oshawott for the first time.

Here's everything you need to know about today's Pokemon Go event.

Oshawott's Community Day runs from 11 AM to 5 PM local time on September 19th.

Any Dewott fully evolved into Samurott will know the Water-type move Hydro Cannon. Hydro Cannon is a relatively low energy charged move that deals 80 damage, and is considered one of the better Water-type moves in the game. Unfortunately, any Water-type Starter Pokemon that has had a Community Day has access to Hydro Cannon, so this move isn't quite as exciting as it once was.

Additionally, Samurott is also gaining the move Razor Shell to its moveset with today's Community Day event. Razor Shell is a low energy/low damage Charged Water-type move that comes with a 50% chance to reduce an opponent's Defense stat. While the possibility of lowering a Defense stat is intriguing, Hydro Cannon is a stronger attack that deals twice as much energy for only 5 more energy.

The addition of Hydro Cannon to Samurott's moveset gives the Pokemon some extra viability in Great League and Ultra League play. Pairing the move with Waterfall is your best bet, and adding Megahorn as a second charge move gives players some extra coverage in case they run into Grass-type Pokemon. While there are still better Water-type Pokemon to use in GO Battle League, Samurott can at least keep up and notch some victories against certain popular Pokemon in both lower competitive tiers.

The Oshawott Community Day will also come with a 3X XP bonus, which should help any players trying to level up quickly. Like other Community Days, both Incense and Lures have had their effectiveness increased during the event and will last for three hours.

Like other Community Day events, Oshawott Community Day will also feature a boosted Shiny rate for Oshawott. Shiny Oshawott has a cream-colored face and a darker blue body and a darker-colored nose than usual. Here's a close up look of Oshawott's Shiny form.

Tasks For Oshawott Community Day Research In Pokémon GO

Bleeding Cool News 19 September, 2021 - 07:12am

Today is Oshawott Community Day in Pokémon GO. As the event begins at different times in the world, Bleeding Cool can now confirm the tasks and rewards for the event's ticketed Special Research. Observing what exactly this paid Special Research has to offer can help Pokémon GO players determine if the ticket is worth buying, so let's take a look at what Niantic is offering us this time.

Here is the full list of tasks and rewards for the ticketed Oshawott Community Day Special Research in Pokémon GO, titled "From Scalchops to Seamitars."

Personally, I think that this is worth the $1 USD in the Pokémon GO shop. The best items are the Rocket Radar and the Incense, which pretty much already make the cost of admission. The rest are nice bonuses. I'd recommend putting on a Lucky Egg while claiming all of that XP and a Star Piece to take advantage of the Stardust given here.

Here are the details on Oshawott Community Day:

Date + Time Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Oshawott will be appearing more frequently in the wild! It will also be attracted to Rainy Lure Modules. If you're lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Oshawott! Evolve Dewott (Oshawott's Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Samurott that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. Samurott will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Razor Shell. This attack will be available for Samurott to learn even after the event has concluded.

Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!

Incense activated during the event will last for three hours

Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hour

Best of luck out there today, fellow Pokémon GO trainers!
