Is shiny palkia in Pokemon go?

Palkia will be appearing in five-star raids during this time, and if you're lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny one. The event's spatial distortions will also see Heracross make its global debut in three-star raids, along with Pokémon like Alakazam and Kangaskhan. Can Palkia be shiny in Pokemon GO? (August 2021)

Sportskeeda 07 August, 2021 - 05:20am

The Lord of Space, Palkia, is coming to Pokemon GO along with a shiny variant.

This comes in as part of an Ultra Unlock that the Pokemon GO Community earned during GO Fest 2021. By completing that global challenge, all three parts of the Ultra Unlock will be released.

Palkia comes as part 2 of the Ultra Unlock. Catching it, though, will be tricky, so trainers will need to be extra prepared if they want to come away with this shiny legendary.

Along with part 2 of the Ultra Unlock starting on August 6th, Palkia will be a five star raid boss. Players will only have until August 17th to fight it, but it can be shiny when encountered.

This is likely in the game to hype up the release of the Generation IV remakes. Like the three generations before it, the Sinnoh games will be reimagined in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the latter of which Palkia is the mascot for.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl promises to be a very faithful rendition of the game, staying true to the elements and gameplay of the originals.

Once August 17th comes, this raid will go away. Trainers might be happy to know, though, that the Sword and Shield mascots are coming in part 3 of the Ultra Unlock. Zacian will appear as a five star raid boss for a week following which Zamazenta will be taking the helm.

It’s important for any trainer looking to catch a shiny Palkia to know that it won’t be easy. Palkia is an incredibly powerful Pokemon that also has a decent amount of bulk.

It definitely should take around five buddies to take down this Pokemon as well as some strong counters.

Speaking of counters, Palkia struggles against opposing Dragon-types. Pokemon that can charge up quick Outrages, like Dragonite and Salamence, tend to have quick-timed wins against the special legend.

Of course, Fairies like Gardevoir and Togekiss also take care of Palkia nicely, but they can't be compared with a Dragon's dominance over this Pokemon.

Niantic Responds to Fans' Fury Over Pokemon Go Changes - IGN

IGN 06 August, 2021 - 06:04am

Fans have directed anger at Niantic after it reverted pandemic-related changes to the game, most prominently the distance at which Pokestops can be interacted with. For a game that prides itself on its community-based gameplay and the size of its fanbase, the company had been silent over the issue for some time, leading to a widely-shared open letter from players. Niantic has finally offered a response to the community, which was published on the studio's blog.

In the response, Niantic explained that its decision to revert the interaction distance from 80 meters back to 40 meters was made because it wants "people to connect to real places in the real world, and to visit places that are worth exploring."

Niantic then went on to say that it has heard the community "loud and clear" surrounding the changes to the Pokestop Gym interaction distance. The studio acknowledged the concerns raised by the community before explaining what further action it will take. The team said, "We are assembling an internal cross-functional team to develop proposals designed to preserve our mission of inspiring people to explore the world together, while also addressing specific concerns that have been raised regarding interaction distance."

As part of the process, Niantic said "we will also be reaching out to community leaders in the coming days to join us in this dialogue". This will take place before the studio shares its findings by September 1. It is unclear at this stage what proposals could be implemented into the game or to what degree these will satisfy the community. However, fans of Pokemon Go will be hoping that community leaders' concerns are listened to and addressed sooner rather than later.

The increased interaction distance feature was introduced last year as a way to allow the community to keep playing Pokemon Go from the safety of their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The in-game feature improved player safety and accessibility within the game and has been praised by the community and creators alike. Fans of the title took to social media in full force asking for Niantic to reconsider removing the feature from the game. You can see the community's open letter in a tweet below or read our previous article on the story for further context.

When it comes to the Ultra Unlock 2021: Space event in Pokémon Go, the obvious draw is which Pokémon will be available in raids.

Not only do they see the return of the legendary Palkia, but two regionally exclusive will be available in raids worldwide.

You can battle both Kangaskhan - usually exclusive to Australasia - and Heracross - exclusive to South America, southern Florida and Texas - in three-star raids.

Since these Pokémon are usually tied to their specific regions, this is the perfect opportunity to add two rare Pokémon to your Pokédex. (I know I'm catching myself a Heracross!)

Palkia and Heracross are also having their shiny forms released during this event!

In one-star raids you'll be able to battle Pokémon like Unown U, Elgyem and Espurr. It's also important to note that all of these Pokémon will be available in raids until Friday, 20th August at 10am (local time).

Both red and blue-striped Basculin will be appearing freely across the globe, alongside Heatmor - exclusive to Europe, Asia and Australasia - and Durant - exclusive to North America, South America and Africa.

If you're missing any of these regional Pokémon, make sure you catch them now!

Finally, the Ultra Unlock Part 2: Time event sees a change to the 7km egg pool once again:

Remember to open your gifts during the event if you want to try hatching any of the above!

Since Ultra Unlock 2021: Space is a timed research quest, it won't be available once this event ends. This means that you must complete it during the event if you want to earn all of the rewards.

The raid pool will also change, so, if you want to catch Palkia, Kangaskhan or Heracross, you must do so before the end of Ultra Unlock 2021: Space.
