There were 22 players that hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball who won $10,000 each. However, there were nine players who hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball with the 2X Megaplier, winning $20,000. Other players from the night won prizes ranging from $2 to $500.

Mega Millions players who hit the lottery jackpot have the option of receiving their winnings through either a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity.

Those who choose the annuity receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, which increase by 5% each year.

That grand prize (with a cash option of $209.2 million) went unclaimed, however two lucky players matched five numbers without the Powerball for $1-million prizes.

Another 17 matched four numbers and the Powerball for $50,000 each, with only one player doubling their winnings to $100,000 thanks to a Power Play.

There were 391 tickets that had four numbers without the Powerball for $100; a further 90 tickets did so with a Power Play to double the prize to $200.

Each ticket has odds of 1 in 24.9 of winning a prize, according to the Powerball website.

Odds are 1 in 292,201,338.00 of winning the jackpot and 1 in 11,688,053.52 of winning a $1-million prize.

Those that do win the Powerball grand prize, can choose to take an annuity, or for significantly less, a lump-sum payment. The annuity option gives you 30 annual payments over the space of 29 years, with each payment increasing by five percent until the 30th and final payment.

Each ticket costs $2 per play, with players selecting five numbers from 1 to 69, in addition to one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. In certain circumstances, players can also multiply non-jackpot prizes by using the Power Play option for an additional $1.

Drawings usually take place twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday night, at 10:59 p.m. ET. Each draw is broadcast live from the lottery studio which is located in Tallahassee, Florida.

Until recently, winners in New Jersey were required to provide proof of identity, but now are able to stay anonymous under a new law that was signed by Governor Phil Murphy.

Another 6 percent of a ticket sale goes to retailer commissions, while 9 percent of a goes to operating expenses.

Players select one Powerball number from 1 to 26, and five other numbers from 1 to 69.
