What are the PS Plus games for September?

PlayStation Plus subscribers will get free access to three games in September: IO Interactive's Hitman 2 and IllFonic's Predator: Hunting Grounds for PlayStation 4, and Ghost Town Games' Overcooked! All You Can Eat for PlayStation 5. PolygonPlayStation Plus September 2021 free games announced

Another week, another PlayStation Store sale. You know the score. The PS Store Essential Picks sale is sticking around for two weeks, expiring at midnight on 15th September 2021. We've got lots of different PS5 and PS4 titles on offer, so with the deals active across the UK, EU, and US storefronts right now, let's take a look at what we've got.

On the PS5 front, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition receives its first-ever digital discount, bringing the price down to just £26.24/$29.99. F1 2021 drops to £42.59/$44.99, Cris Tales comes in at £27.99/$31.99, and Chivalry 2 slashes its price to £27.99/$31.99. It Takes Two is then discounted to £26.24/$29.99, Bugsnax is £13.49/$18.74, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War comes in at £32.49/$34.99.

For PS4 games, there's Biomutant for £41.24/$44.99, Ghostrunner reaches its cheapest digital price of £9.99/$11.99, and The Outer Worlds is £16.49/$19.79. Then there's Blasphemous for £7.19/$8.99, Resident Evil 2 at £13.99/$15.99, and Necromunda: Hired Gun is £24.74/$29.99.

To be perfectly honest, it's not the best PS Store sale we've ever seen. Just putting together this list of noteworthy deals was a challenge in itself this week. Nevertheless, UK and EU users can check out every PS5, PS4 game included in the essential picks sale through here. US readers should use this link. Does anything take your fancy? I'll pick up f1 been waiting for a sale

Tempted with RE2 but I get properly anxious if I can't save easily, which has always put me off. I know you can sleep the console but you can never be 100% that it will come back to where you were, even though 9 times out of 10 it does.

A few decent deals in the VR sale at the moment but, as expected, almost all other deals are nothing of the kind. Or at least are only “deals” in relation to exorbitant digital pricing.

@dasd2 That's been on sale quite a few times now.

@Spoonman-2 Yeah I don't understand why devs don't give us their games for free. I already paid for the console darn it!

@PlayNation5 Not sure what you mean. Hardcore difficulty aside, the game autosaves pretty much constantly during a Standard or Assisted playthrough. Even if you haven't found a typewriter in a while chances are your game got autosaved minutes or seconds ago.

@PlayNation5 RE2 got plenty options to save, so i dont understand ur worries. You even dont have to use ink ribbons anymore.

@lolwhatno I don't think it's available on disc anywhere. There is no physical release (except for the Switch version, apparently).

@Voltan Yeah that sucks, If I really want the game though I could borrow my sister's switch to play on it.

@Voltan ps5 is getting a physical version at least.

Do we know if the PS4 version gets a free upgrade?

@Rob_230 Yeah, it's a confirmed free upgrade. I'm gonna replay it when it drops for sure.

Clicking on the link reminds me just how much I hate the new online store.

Is it just me or do some of these prices seem higher than they were in the last sale?

@Voltan I’ve had Ghostrunner for a while now, but I’ve been waiting for the PS5 upgrade before starting my first playthrough. It’s this month isn’t it? At least I hope it is!

@The_Pixel_King It's on the 28th

When is the Ghostrunner PS5 version coming?

@AFCC September 28th

@Voltan mb the other user already asked but I didn't see the comments! Thanks <3

@Grimwood For many people(myself included), Digital games are vastly superior products.

People pay more money for superior products.

That’s why people buy £1000 TV’s that are barely noticeably better than £500 TV’s or £1000 phones that have a 1 year newer SoC(with 15% gains) than their current phone.

I personally play around 100 games a year across all formats, and I can’t imagine owning that many discs, switching them etc.

To me physical games are so vastly inferior that I don’t even care how much they cost, and will never check.

@dasd2 It had to go to sleep but couldn’t save its progress.

@dasd2 they have had a couple sales on it recently. It is a great game. I would definitely recommend it next time you see it on sale.

Civilization 6 platinum edition is now selling at a very decent price + base game + both major add-ons. Guess, this would be my choice this time.

Prices often fluctuate both up and down in consecutive sales. It’s an annoyance. There should be a continual gradual reduction in price until 0.01p is reached.

Physical is inferior to digital... because you have to switch discs? Well, I must say that is an interesting point of view. I haven't heard that one before, to be honest.

With physical you get a tangible product, something real, something more than a glorified rental. Resell value, trading with friends and family, no bandwidth-sapping downloads required, AND best of all, you don't have to worry if it will be available to play in 10, 15, or 20 years.

Not to mention the massive price difference. Sometimes digital can be cheaper though. Sometimes.

But uh... yeah... you do have to switch the discs.

I think I'm motivated to get DMC5 Special Edition. My money from my wallet is about to BE GONE! I played DMC5 on PS4 but I need more power! After all passing it up would be foolishness Dante...foolishness.

@UnlimitedSevens I’ve never had a single player game be made unavailable to play, but I’ve had broken cartridges and discs before.

You also can just buy a digital game anytime you want, download it and play right away, without having to leave your house, or wait on delivery.

I guess the disc switchers are people with 5 games, rather than 500. I’m not sure you realise how much hassle having so many physical games would be. In a time where we value load time reductions of 30 seconds, people put no value on switching discs from a collection of 100+?

Switching on a console and having every game you might possibly want to play be 1 click away is a big deal, especially when you are an older person with 2 kids, and a small business to run.

Since physical Vs digital is a topic here. The main value for me with physical games is that as soon as I'm done they get stored as an ornament. I've done this for multiple generations. Looking at my shelves always brings back fond memories, especially when I have my older fiends visiting. Don't get the same vibe from my digital games. But I guess thats what great about games with physical and digital options. Oh and some of my friends spend far less annually on physical games (due to trading, etc) than I spend on PS Plus, Game pass, etc.

I recommend blasphemous to anyone that like 2D metroidvania with a little souls-like combat, also there's save point before boss so the game is more fair than most souls game

For sure, for sure. It's all a personal value judgement - if that extra 20 seconds to switch a disc is worth a price hike and the diminished ownership rights, I say live your truth!

I am a physical collector. Like you (I'm assuming), I have less time for games, and money isn't as much of an issue anymore. My job consumes my life unfortunately. But even I, who places an extreme premium on my own time (responding to PushSquare comments notwithstanding) will take 20 seconds to switch a disc.

But if you aren't into that, knowing the many tradeoffs, I can understand and do not judge. Kids can be terrors on electronics/discs, and digital downloads do have a considerable convenience factor in that you do not have to actually go out and get them/order them.

For me, storage has been the bigger issue - I always waffle back and forth between displaying my games by the entertainment center but after a certain point it becomes garish. Several hundred games displayed by the TV doesn't really fit the decor. First world problems I guess. Seems to be the main issue with collecting from talking to other folks on here. Digital solves that. Just too many negatives (for me).

Yeah I think we all need to admit to ourselves the truth. We collect physical to appease our inner magpies. And the nostalgia factor. I do get a sense of warm comfort looking at my collection - a lot of good memories.

Also, collecting is part of the game too - the challenge of finding that rare copy, etc... it's fun/rewarding in its way.

I am tempted to pick up Infamous First Light, is it worth playing? I quite enjoyed Second Son.

Is it 60 FPS as well by any chance?

They call these “sales”, but the prices keep going up on some of them

@PlayNation5 resi2 remake has autosaves on all settings bar Hardcore. So you dont even have to worry about using the typewriters. Playing through currently to go for the platinum and it autosaves quite often. If that helps

Maybe Biomutant....been eyeing it for a while.....but to be honest im knee deep in hades and pyschonauts. Plus tales next week

Hold on there, you need to login to post a comment...

PlayStation Plus games for September: Overcooked: All You Can Eat!, Hitman 2, Predator: Hunting Grounds

PlayStation.Blog 01 September, 2021 - 01:20pm

Hunt, cook and assassinate: take your pick of profession with September’s PlayStation Plus lineup. Play one of sci-fi’s most enduring icons in Predator: Hunting Grounds, whip up culinary chaos in Overcooked: All You Can Eat! or puzzle out inventive takedowns in Hitman 2.

All three games will be available from Tuesday, September 7 to Monday, October 4.

Let’s take a closer look at each title.

August’s games lineup is making way for September’s new arrivals, so you’ve until Monday, September 6 to add Hunter’s Arena: Legends, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Tennis World Tour 2 to your game library.

**Online multiplayer requires PS Plus subscription; fees recur until cancelled. Age restrictions apply. Full terms: play.st/PSPlusTerms.

Not a bad lineup at all.

Perhaps something with a story next month?

If you want story, watch movies. Let games be games.

Noob smh… If it was up to you we’d all still be playing Pong.

Surprise: one more vastly disappointing month. Overcooked 1 was already given on Plus for PS4 back in 2019, so many players already have it. Hitman is ok, I guess, but Predator is YET ANOTHER boring asynchronous multiplayer game on the service, joining Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th, which are also buggy and laggy. There is no way I’m renewing Plus for next year

Good think it’s Overcooked All You Can Eat and not Overcooked 1.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat is not just remastered Overcooked 1, but also Overcooked 2 with all the DLC’s. It’s almost 200 levels compared to 30 from the original.

Oh Overcooked 1 was free years ago so there is no reason to give people an entirely new game in the franchise with dozens and dozens of levels they never played before.

Is overcooked 1 and 2 with all the dlc. Hitman 2 is a great game to give away and predator is a great game for people who like those types of games.

New World on PC open beta, September 9-12

Seems like they’re trying to make the combined online costs seem a little more relevant and worthy by providing online games, too bad they always suck.

Yknow what? This is actually not that bad. No interest in Overcooked myself, but Hitman and Predator seem decent at the very least. And even if they end up not being that great, they can’t possibly be any worse than that tennis game from August.

If you play couch co op i seriously recommend Overcooked. I wasnt sure either but man its an absolute riot with friends. Total and utter chaos and so much fun

Which version of Hitman 2 are we getting? Is it the Standard Edition or Gold

If it was the Gold edition it would have said it was the Gold edition.

lol so a super arcadey indie game, a game that was universally panned (im sure no ones gonna want it even for free) and while Hitman isnt bad I just dont care for it, another -yawn- month

Overcooked is one of the best and most popular indie games over the past several years. Predator has improved a lot since reviews came out too

Another write-off of a month for me, which is about the third or fourth in a row. I will say that Hitman 2 is a first-rate game, but I’ve already played it. Even if it has extra content, adding Overcooked is ridiculous. It was a PS+ game in May 2019.

I may get Hitman 2. I have Blood Money and Absolution but the controls are iffy.

Overcooked 1 was a PS+ game, this is Overcooked All You Can Eat which includes Overcooked 2 and all DLC for both games. People need to actually read before complaining.

But you do know if your PS Plus subscription lapses, you lose the free games so there is that.

Yes that’s right, i dont pay thousand euros, only 60EUROS per year

Cant take hitman2 in ps5 ?

You can play it on your PS5 if that’s what you’re asking

Can we play the Hitman2 levels in Hitman 3 with this Plus version?

I would believe so by default unless somebody goes out of their way to block.

So that means that Sony will if they want to keep their streak of terrible decisions the past few months.

Lol, yeah, wouldn’t count on it. Also, isn’t that only the case for the digital version? -_-

The only games on the list that interest me are Overcooked and Hitman 2.

So two out of the three. Seems pretty good to me!

Meh… And why the 7th?! Really obsessed with those Tuesdays aren’t you?

It’s been the first Tuesday of the month for YEARS. What are you complaining about?

Overcooked is definitely not for me but the other two are. Tried the Predator: Hunting Grounds beta and thought it would be a perfect PS Plus game. So I held off on buying and here we are. Always enjoyed the Hitman series and actually got the Reboot already through PS Plus awhile back. Good Month IMO while August 2021 was quite possibly the worst ever.

This month is seem excellent choice. Can’t wait to download predator.

This month is so weak… Overcooked 2 is on Now, so was Hitman 2 for a while last year. Do better guys, geez…

No day one release this month either, why drop the ball now?

But Overcooked All You Can Eat isn’t, so this is quite the bonus. Nice to have both games and full DLC.

Why did overcooked had to be ps5 only?

Just a quick question about the Blog;

When are you guys going to update the main page, you guys are still linking to PlayStation Now July games as the latest PlayStation Now blog post… What ever happened to the PlayStation Now August blog post? Wasn’t it properly tagged as being a PlayStation Now post?

I know people on this blog never reply, but hopefully someone reads this and rectifies this.

Overcooked gets frantic, not good for the blood pressure.

PS Plus September 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

Push Square 01 September, 2021 - 01:20pm

September's PlayStation Plus games have been officially announced, and as it turns out, last week's leak was completely correct. Hopefully you didn't set your sights on anything different!

Without further ado, here's what subscribers get this month:

Based on the reaction to the aforementioned leak, this selection will divide opinion. Overcooked, for example, is a great little party game — but it doesn't offer a whole lot to solo players. Predator is a similar deal — it's a title that's much more entertaining when you're playing alongside pals.

Fortunately, Hitman 2 is a real single-player treat, so its inclusion might be enough to tip the scales for some of you. All three games will be made available to claim and download from the 7th September.

What do you think of these games for PS Plus September 2021? Give us an honest opinion in the comments section below.

About Robert Ramsey

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.

Comments (99)

Not interested in any of them, all trash. This is pathetic Sony.

Would be very happy with Overcooked if they also gave us an extra Dualsense

I've only played the first Hitman so Hitman 2 makes up for the other two for me.

Looks OK to me

I already own Overcooked All you can eat, and have hitman 2 Gold edition on PC (so I'll claim it on PS Plus but I'm not likely to do much else with it). I don't think Predator: Hunting Grounds is likely to be my kind of game but I'm happy to just get down the backlog this month

Well I'll take Hitman 2 so it is worth the £3 for this month.

Nothing to moan about unless you moan for the sake of moaning

Absolute rubbish the last three months the first few months this year were great just to sell the PS5.

I won't be bothering with plus/now when they expire end of next month just not worth it anymore. Glad that I use game pass a much better service.

Glad its confirmed, looking forward to yelling at my kids for not bringing the soup over quickly enough lol, good month!!

Hitman 2 will definitely be downloaded.but i will play hitman goty edition first to see whats up.predator i might download that.not a bad month.word life.word is bond.word to your mother. Word to god.word up son

I'll certainly give Hitman 2 a go, since I quite enjoy the act of sniping fools from a distance and discreetly chloroforming my enemies. Don't judge me.

I'll also add Overcooked to my library for when I get a PS5.

2 out of 3 isn't bad, I guess.

Great games adding another good month to this year which has been excellent.

Others will cry and cancel their subs.

Guess I'll get Hitman. Does that work with importing levels to Hitman 3?

And Overcooked is nice for the odd day I'm doing mp with friends, though I really should get another 2 controllers for that.

Let's just say I'm glad I dusted off my Switch recently. I'll power up the PS5 when Tales of Arise is out on the 10th. To be fair, I think of Hitman as a good series but it's just an exercise in relentless anxiety for me personally.

Better luck next month.

This is a dope selection. I've almost bought Predator and this overcooked tons of times. Nothin but net for me this month

Not hitman seriously can’t stand those games agent 47 has no personality. I really worry for the next bond game with them in charge. Terrible month too.

Maybe this is asking for too much, but I think that Sony should give a selection of titles to choose from each month. Lately, I either already own the games being offered or have no interest, making the PS+ cost not worthwhile.

Overcooked is a fun game with the kids, although I always end up shouting at them for not getting the food to the customers on time! Hahahaha! I'll try Predators and Hitman.

See ya all next month then lol

Looks like I will be letting my PS+ subscription expire next week ...

I love the hitman series (even absolution 😂) but I already have the whole series. Predator was garbage when I played the beta and no interest in a cooking party game so nothing for me this month

One thing to bear in mind is that this is an enthusiast-centric website. The vast majority of playstation gamers have enough in their backlog to keep them occupied. The vast majority also mostly use ps plus to play online. If you ask the majority of playstation gamers you meet on the street what they think about ps plus freebies or playstation exclusives, they won't really care. Websites like this do however give enthusiasts a unified voice which I appreciate. I personally only use ps plus to play online with exceptions like Control Ultimate.

Well, do the wife and I dare start overcooked again? Not interested in stealth games and don’t play tedious online repetitive games.

Another crap month for me. Will add hitman 2 but not even going to tarnish my library with the other two.

Edit: I've just bought Hitman 3 in the sale to make it a better month so I'm quite looking forward to it now!

Well, its very clear that I won't be renewing my PS+ membership. I don't think that I would if it was $10 honestly.

Happy I held off on buying Hitman 3 as I have yet to play the 2nd. I'll enjoy that.

I played the Predator beta and was not impressed. It had quite a bit of polish that needed to occur. Perhaps they've fixed it up since I last played. For free... I'll definitely give it a shot again.

Overcooked is fun to a point but needs friends to play with to really be fun.

The incessant whining in these threads, seriously … Hitman 2 and Overcooked are both objectively great games, even if they're not for you, or you already own them (as I do).

But maybe it's time for Sony to offer a cheaper Plus membership with just the cloud service and multiplayer elements? Rather than adding more stuff people (proudly) won't like anyway?

Hitman 2 is fantastic but I played it 1,000 years ago. The other two I'm blates never gonna play. Overcooked looks fun but who am I going to play it with? My cat? No, they'll be rubbish at it. Then we'll fall out. It'll be a whole thing.

Predator can just get in the sea. Everything about Predator annoys me apart from Predator. The film Predator I mean. I probably should have been clearer about that. Predator the film is amazing. Everything else Predator related - EVER - is dreck and needs to be banished to the ocean depths.

@munkholt yeah, I don't get it. Both Hitman and Overcooked are great. Unfortunately, I've played both, but there is 0 to complain about here imo. Take it or leave it on Predator - its free so worth a shot

How is anyone moaning at getting Hitman 2 LOL the new trilogy is one of the finest gaming experience of the past few years, try it! Looking forward to jumping into Predator the demo was pretty good fun, wonder if anything you earned in that will be carried over

@Xenomorph_79 Absolutely agree with you and don't blame you or anyone. I don't know what's going on with Sony but everything is just going downhill, it's getting worse and worse. Better to use that money and get Game Pass that by the way is actually worth it.

So glad I bought a Xbox Series X about 3 days ago.

I'll grab Overcooked in case I ever fancy a raging argument with my partner.

I'm just hyped for September's game releases. I see no game here that im would be interested in at all.

@seecs2011 Agree, they are great games.

Another month of people either saying the games are terrible and Gamepass is better or people calling everyone whiners and entitled. It's like clockwork.

I have to admit I’m not wildly enthusiastic about these games. I’ve never really got into Hitman (although I suppose I could give it one more try, since it’s free). Overcooked might be a laugh for the odd occasions I have gamer guests round. Not interested in the Predator one at all.

Meh. At least I got zone of enders hd for free on gwg.

@ATaco I sometimes wonder if MS pays people to make such comments. I mean, when the Games with Gold games are announced, do loads of people show up in the Pure Xbox comments to say that PS Now is better than it?

Insane line up! It's crazy how Sony keep knocking it out of the ball park, fact!

I love hitman, but II came out years ago (it's gone on sale for faaar less than the cost of ps plus this month) and the worst of it is III came out like 8-9 months ago. Not regretting cancelling auto-renew at all. Well, back to gamepass I guess.

@Snake_V5 Cringe comment.

Hopefully the psnow list is better this month.

@JapaneseSonic Yeah, it's weird that they keep doing that like they're the same service lol.

Dunno if I’ll like it as I’m a bit sceptical but I’ll def try out hitman. Not into multiplayer games though so that’d be the only one

@WolfKingk87 It's not cringe at all. Why should anyone always settle for this mediocrity all the time? We all should demand and get better.

Pretty good month actually, if you count overcooked as two games, also hitman 2 is basically free dlc, if you own 3.

@Snake_V5 alright but what would you suggest they give out? really no pleasing some people.

@JayJayFalcon090 I know what you mean, no matter what games Sony pick there will always be people who don't like them. Maybe I'm just frustrated.

@Snake_V5 I’ve never seen you make a positive comment here. So just sell your ps5 and enjoy the supposed gaming heaven you’re now getting with Series X and Game Pass.

I wonder how the PS Plus games manage to consistently leak every month.

@JapaneseSonic Well that might be to do with the fact that Sony are always doing something wrong for a start. All I'm doing is calling it for what it is, I know some people don't like to hear that though. And yes I have made positive comments on here, for many games I can't wait for on PlayStation. I know I might rant and rave sometimes but that's only because I genuinely care, if I didn't rant and rave then I wouldn't care.

What are you doing? Lurking in the shadows and watching everything I respond too?

@Snake_V5 You’re not ‘calling it for what it is’, you’re giving your opinion about various things. Why do so many people confuse their views of things with objective reality?

@JapaneseSonic Because sometimes what people call out is the reality.

I've got friends with PS5s who I can play Overcooked with, so no huge loss.....actually kinda intrigued by Predator, so why not. Actually not a car crash of a month like the past two.

@WolfKingk87 Nice to see some positivity about plus for a change.

No patience for hitman. 😂 Daughter will play hunting grounds, overcooked is great for some. I just can't do stealth...

I’m not sure there is anything there for me but I thought it looked a reasonable mix

@Snake_V5 Its 3 games i dont own and i like them so i see it as a win. What your is not reality its a opinion.

3 games I don't own. I'll take it!

@Snake_V5 I bet those developers who spent all that time making games that have all been rated fairly by many critics and reviewers are now rethinking their life choices as we now know that this month's games are simply trash. 🤣

@PhhhCough didn’t we get that a few years ago?

@Jayslow Exact same sentiments from me. I don't own them so I'll take them. Easy.

Bear in mind that now if you buy Hitman 3, through PS Plus you’ll have access to the Hitman and Hitman 2 levels as they’ve both now been given away. Brilliant for anyone new to the series.

@Snake_V5 I have detailed files on you.

Been waiting on hitman so i will grab 2. Will likely buy and play 1 first. Then onto 3 if i enjoy it.

Besides that, im gonna grab some popcorn and watch people go off on one in the comments 🤣

@JapaneseSonic Yeah sure you do... Prove it.

@CynicalGamer That's for sure. Control, Dragon Quest 11, GTA 5, God of War to name a few in the backlog for me. If the ps+ games include something I'm interested in, awesome, if not, oh well

Another garbage month to go along with an absolute disappointing year for PlayStation and the PS5 launch. So at least on that note it's par for the course!

You know it's getting rough when a dedicated PlayStation website has so little to talk about that they resort to making articles about the startup noises for each PlayStation console LOL!

What a time to be a loyal PlayStation fan since the beginning. What game will they falsely repackage and rerelease as a director's cut and charge full price for next?

@Octane sure does, once it's in your library it let's you download the patch for hitman 2 levels into hitman 3. I don't even think you ever need to download hitman 2 for the import to work.

@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L It’s honestly worth just adding 2 to library and buying 1 and 3, then playing all three games within Hitman 3’s engine. Works so much better.

Still waiting to use a 12 month sub code but honestly I'll probably just give it to my son. This will pay him up to like 2024 or something at this point but it's whatever, at least he plays online.

PS+ just has so little value in my opinion. It's kinda sad really.

@nessisonett i remember reading about this when hitman 3 released. So download 2 from plus then buy 1 and 3. Then download them from within the hitman 3 game? Is that how it works? Sorry if its simple, its been a long day 🤣

The like/dislike ratio on the PS Access video suggests most people are happy enough with this month. 🤷‍♂️

@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L I think you just need the license for 1 and 2 on your account. So you don’t need to download them, just the third one and it’ll recognise that you own the first two.

I 3 starred all OverCooked 1 levels on Switch, a lot of them I did do with a partner but some solo. It's not at all bad solo and unfortunately none of my friends seemed to like it when I played it with them so will probably solo the second game entirely this time.

The reality is Sony have to go big or go home.

Overcooked is a marmite game. If you like that style awesome, if you don't its monotonous and stressful with a less than elite memory.

As for Hitman 2, of course it's a great game. But when Hitman 3 is here it feels like a letdown.

Predator could be decent but the reviews are all bad so yeah. Not a great month for me. We badly need some big big games.

@ankehuber That’s PS+ pretty much every month. I think Marquette and Bugsnax are the only PS+ games I’ve ever finished and I’ve had Plus a looooooong time.

And I definitely believe @JapaneseSonic, you've got to be some kind of sad boy to even say something like that. If you weren't this pessimistic you would've seen the games for what they are: fun.

Well, PS Plus games stopped getting worse and worse to be somewhat good. I will definitely add Hitman 2 to the library and maybe even download to try it.

@BoldAndBrash I'm not a drama queen, people don't like to hear the truth. Sorry you're easily offended.

I haven’t been on my PS5 for a month, looks it’ll stay that way with this months offerings.

@R1spam Neat! Don't remember if I've claimed Hitman 1, but I don't think that game is too expensive if I ever want to play all the levels in 3.

Great balance to be fair. Best month in a while. Too much entitlement around.

Oh so now because I said Hitman 2 is trash, you have a problem with that? And gaming is not a hobby to me, sorry but I don't deal with casuals. Come back when you take it more seriously.

@BowTiesAreCool entitlement? How? People pay for it? 😂 I never understand the claim that people are entitled for criticising a service they pay for. That's a very entitled attitude tbh.

And yes, bow ties are cool lol.

@nessisonett sweet. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated 👍

I'm not mad about this selection, honestly. It isn't great, but it's still way better than August.

All Overcooked content is on Switch (and I already own half of it, still stuck on The Peckening even in co-op efforts), Predator evokes more curiosity but only if single player IS possible (Warframe is explicitly geared towards multiplayer as well, but fully playable solo). And of course, both this one and Hitman 2, expected to put healthy emphasis on gunplay, leave the jury still out when it comes to control schemes. But that aside, they'll make pretty neat PS4 library additions.

@Gaming_Heretic_Aoife aye, we pay for it, and we're getting three objectively very good quality games included with it. Great month. =]

I left a comment on the blog wondering who the leak came from and they deleted it. It's MI5 stuff this.

If you haven't purchased Hitman 2 by now it's because you don't want it.. Same with Predator. They've been on sale countless times.

Good thing I have plenty of games to play 'cause I sure ain't touching any of that garbage.

Hold on there, you need to login to post a comment...

PS Plus September 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

PlayStation Universe 01 September, 2021 - 01:20pm

@Snake_V5 Cringe comment.

Hopefully the psnow list is better this month.

Come on Sony time to combine plus and now!!!!!

@Gaming_Heretic_Aoife aye, we pay for it, and we're getting three objectively very good quality games included with it. Great month. =]

PlayStation Plus Free Games for September 2021 Revealed

ComicBook.com 01 September, 2021 - 10:41am

PlayStation has officially revealed the PlayStation Plus free games for September 2021 with little time to spare. Following a number of leaks about what could be in September, PlayStation has announced that the PS Plus lineup for September will actually, in fact, include Overcooked: All You Can Eat!, Hitman 2, and Predator: Hunting Grounds as previously leaked. The whole group will be available to claim for free beginning Tuesday, September 7th. Notably, Overcooked: All You Can Eat! will be the PlayStation 5 title while both Hitman 2 and Predator: Hunting Grounds will be for the PlayStation 4.

The typical caveats all apply for the September 2021 PlayStation Plus free games. They are only available to claim by subscribers, and even then only for a limited time. Additionally, subscribers that do claim the titles will lose access to them should their PlayStation Plus subscription lapse, but if and when they resubscribe, access will once more be granted to any of the PlayStation Plus titles that have been claimed previously. And to top it off, not all of the video games claimed are for all platforms; PlayStation specifically notes whether a title is for PS5 or PS4 or both these days with one usually being PS5 and two usually being PS4.

Take aim or chop your way to the top with September’s PlayStation Plus lineup, arriving next week.

See the full list: https://t.co/VJALVrDfhN pic.twitter.com/qQmUXYOTV4

As noted above, September 2021's free PlayStation Plus titles, Overcooked: All You Can Eat!, Hitman 2, and Predator: Hunting Grounds, are set to be available beginning September 7th and will be so through October 4th. Also as noted, the former is for PS5 while the latter two are for PS4. August 2021's free PlayStation Plus titles, Hunter's Arena: Legends, Tennis World Tour 2, and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, will remain available through September 6th, though if history is any indication, the swap to the new titles will actually be in the early afternoon of September 7th. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the PlayStation Plus subscription service right here.

What do you think about September 2021's free PlayStation Plus video games? Are you excited for any of them particularly? Let us know in the comments, or feel free to reach out and hit me up directly over on Twitter at @rollinbishop to talk about all things gaming!

PSN servers down again for PS4 and PS5 players

Gamesradar 31 August, 2021 - 04:00pm

Sony's issue tracker is red across the board

The PSN server status tracker has all areas of the service listed at red as of this writing, indicating that "you might have difficulty" logging in, launching games, navigating the PlayStation Store and beyond (though some users say they've been unaffected). As it stands right now, Sony hasn't offered any timetable for when the service may be restored, and the issue seems to have been popping up for at least a few hours.

Sony's servers previously had some significant downtime in July, and while it isn't uncommon for PSN to go down, this has already become a more prolonged issue than most brief service outages.

Right now, there's been no official word from Sony on why PSN is down. All we have to go on is speculation surrounding the nature of the outage, but if any official word does come from Sony or PlayStation, we'll be sure to update this article as soon as we see it.

Update (8/31/21 at 6:40 ET): PSN is still down for the majority of gamers in the US. It seems Amazone servers have taken a hit, which could somehow be tied to this downtime. We’ll update the post as more info surfaces. Sony has not commented on the server outages until now.

We can confirm that the PlayStation Network is not working for some in the US, UK, Canada, while others in Asia are stating it’s working for them currently.

The official Status page for PlayStation shows that services are having issues:

Over on Reddit, multiple people have said that PSN is not working for them either.
