Is Bayley injured?

WWE wrestler Bayley will be sidelined for approximately nine months due to an injury, the company announced Friday. The promotion said that Bayley (real name Pamela Martinez, 32) was injured while training. si.comWWE’s Bayley to Miss Nine Months After Injury During Training

This past Monday night in Pensacola, Florida, Jimmy Uso was arrested again for a DUI after being stopped by police for running a red light while also speeding. Uso failed sobriety tests and ended up spending a night in jail before getting bailed out the next morning.

Reports initially came out that no action was taken by WWE against Jimmy for his arrest, although some higher-ups were reportedly “extremely disappointed and legitimately pissed off.”

On Friday’s SmackDown, Jimmy actually was first shown on the show — and he appeared throughout SmackDown — indicating WWE decided not to take swift action against him.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported there were plans that are too important to adjust and that’s why there doesn’t seem to be fallout from what happened with Jimmy. Dave Meltzer was told “nothing’s happening” at the moment in regards to a fine or suspension.

Meltzer speculated since Jimmy is involved in a major angle that could include The Rock at WrestleMania, WWE doesn’t want to make waves as they head toward a potential match between WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Rock.

Next year’s WrestleMania is on April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. WrestleMania 39 is set for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 2, 2023.

WWE Announces Lineup for July 16 WWE SmackDown in Houston

ComicBook.com 12 July, 2021 - 09:13am

WWE will officially return to the road this Friday with the start of a 25-city tour around the country. This week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, and over the weekend three matches were confirmed for the show. Those include a SmackDown Women's Championship match between Bianca Belair and Carmella (Belair's I Quit Match with Bayley was scrapped after the latter suffered an injury in a freak accident), Roman Reigns and The Usos vs. Edge, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio and Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big E vs. King Nakamura in a four-way bout.

This week's SmackDown saw Edge and the Mysterios team up to attack both of the Usos while Reigns stood at the top of the entrance ramp. Meanwhile, Rollins and Nakamura won their respective qualifying matches for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

On top of those three matches, reports of surprise returns to the company could come as soon as Friday's episode. John Cena has been heavily rumored for a return in time for a match with Reigns at SummerSlam, Becky Lynch seems to be gearing up for a comeback after having her first child in December and Sasha Banks, despite being absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania, has appeared on local advertising for the show.

Edge Sends Another Warning to Roman Reigns Ahead of WWE Money in the Bank

ComicBook.com 12 July, 2021 - 09:13am

Edge appeared on Talking Smack this week after delivering another beating to The Usos on Friday Night SmackDown. "The Rated-R Superstar" has been unhinged ever since returning from hiatus and gave another threatening promo to Roman Reigns ahead of their Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank. He explained, "So, Roman, I didn't just come back to do a greatest hits tour. I didn't come back to just be happy-go-lucky. I'm not content with that. I fought back after almost a decade after being told I'd never do this again. After getting a triple fusion on my neck, having my wrist fused, having a torn Achilles tendon, two torn pecs, metal rods in all of my teeth, a fractured skull, a ruptured groin... You think I went through all of that to just come back and be the happy-go-lucky guy that's just happy to be here? I'm not.

"I didn't come back to contend. I came back to become champion, to take back what I never lost. You just happen to be the champion — wrong place, wrong time. Money in the Bank, I take it back. I end the story. A decade-long story, Roman. It's going to happen. You can look into my eyes and you know everything I say I absolutely believe, and that's what scares you," he added.

Earlier in the interview Edge once again pointed out how Reigns had spun what happened at WrestleMania 37 in order to make him look like a dominant champion when in reality Jey Uso and Daniel Bryan played major roles in stopping him from pinning "The Tribal Chief." The 11-time world champion will team with Rey and Dominik Mysterio next week to face Reigns and The Usos in a six-man tag match as part of SmackDown's first episode back on the road.

Do you think Edge can find a way to upset Reigns and take the Universal title? Or will he merely join the growing list of challengers who have failed to dethrone "The Head of the Table?" Let us know down in the comments and check out the updated Money in the Bank lineup below:

WWE SmackDown overnight ratings up for final ThunderDome episode

Figure Four Online 12 July, 2021 - 09:13am

Friday night's SmackDown on Fox averaged 1.881 million viewers in the fast national ratings, up eight percent from last week.

It's the best overnight viewership number for SmackDown since June 18.

The show opened very strong by averaging 1.956 million viewers in the first hour, but it dropped almost eight percent in the second hour to 1.805 million viewers. That's an unusual ratings pattern for SmackDown. The show usually holds its audience well, and sometimes it even grows throughout the episode. There was no major sports competition for SmackDown last night.

In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown's overnight number was up 12.5 percent from last week, drawing a 0.45 rating. That topped all the major networks in the key demo.

Unlike most weeks, SmackDown did not finish last in total viewers. It beat American Ninja Warrior on NBC (a repeat episode) and Love Island on CBS.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 1.3 percent in overnight viewership and down 10 percent in the 18-49 demo.

This was the last SmackDown episode from the WWE ThunderDome. WWE returns to touring starting with next Friday's SmackDown in Houston, Texas.

Here's a look at the last 11 weeks of overnight viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for SmackDown, along with the 10-week average in both categories prior to this week:

Jimmy Uso Saved By The Rock's Future Storyline In WWE?

SportzWiki 12 July, 2021 - 03:35am

Jimmy Uso has been trending in the professional wrestling circuit due to his arrest incident. As reported earlier, this past Monday night in Pensacola, Florida, he was arrested again for a DUI. He was stopped by police for running a red light while also speeding his car above the guidelines. The SmackDown star was also in a drunken state.

Jimmy Uso failed sobriety tests that led him to spend a night in jail before getting bailed out, the next morning under a $500 bond. Initial reports claimed that while no immediate action was taken by WWE against him for the arrest, some of the higher-ups were reportedly “extremely disappointed and legitimately pis*ed off” for this kind of repeated action.

There were some concerns over his presence on TV, after the arrest but on Friday Night SmackDown, Jimmy Uso was presented on the show who made thorough appearances on SmackDown. This clearly pointed out that WWE decided not to take any action against him. Rather, they will continue to feature him on television in the Universal Championship storyline between Roman Reigns and Edge.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported that WWE creative team must have had some important plans that are too important to adjust. At this point, they just don’t want to get rid of it which could be the reason why there doesn’t seem to be fallout from what happened with Jimmy Uso. Dave Meltzer was told “nothing’s happening” at the moment in regards to a fine or suspension to the former tag champ.

Currently, he is involved in the main event storyline on SmackDown involving the Universal Champion and WWE’s Tribal Chief. Meltzer speculated since Jimmy Uso is involved in this major angle, it’s hard to sideline him. Plus, this storyline could eventually include The Rock at WrestleMania. So WWE doesn’t want to make changes to it.

The current speculation is that they are heading toward a potential match between WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Rock at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Next year’s WrestleMania is scheduled on April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas while WrestleMania 39 is set for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 2, 2023. The dream match is likely to go down in any of these two editions of Mania.

Edge added- “The line between good and evil is paper thin and there is a certain talent that causes me to have to cut through that paper and bring out a side of Edge that isn’t healthy for me and a lot of people. So Talents like The Undertaker, John Cena and Roman Reigns.

“I know what he brings to the table and i know that he calls himself the head of the table and i can appreciate everything that he is trying to say and he believes everything that he says. But i have been there and done that.” He said.
