The Girl Scouts of the USA revealed Tuesday that the new Adventurefuls cookie will join its national lineup for the 2022 season.

The annual start of cookie season is recognized nationally from January through April, but timing and specific cookie availability can vary by region.

“Available nationwide, every bite of Adventurefuls is full of indulgent brownie-inspired flavor with a combination of chocolatey and caramel flavors, and smooth and crispy textures, for an incredible taste of adventure in every bite,” the Girl Scouts said in a news release.

The organization said it recently announced new Cookie Business badges that "help girls think like entrepreneurs as they run their own cookie businesses and incorporate online sales via the Digital Cookie platform."

For 2021, a French toast-inspired cookie "Toast-Yay!" joined the lineup. It's listed on the Girl Scouts website along with Adventurefuls, Thin Mints and Samoas, which are known as Caramel deLites in some areas.

For decades, cookies have been sold at booths outside grocery and other stores, door-to-door in local neighborhoods, and through family and friends bringing order forms to work to tempt their co-workers.

In March 2020, the national organization suspended door-to-door sales and in-person cookie booths because of the spread of COVID-19 and took the cookie season online. The 2021 cookie season also had online sales and sales through "virtual cookie booths" on social media.

This spring, Wing, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc., delivered cookies by drone for the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline to help boost cookie sales, which were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A California-based medical startup that provides COVID-19 testing across Los Angeles has pulled down a website it used to allow customers to access their test results after a customer found a vulnerability that allowed access to other people's personal information. Total Testing Solutions has 10 COVID-19 testing sites across Los Angeles, and processes "thousands" of COVID-19 tests at workplaces, sports venues and schools each week. When test results are ready, customers get an email with a link to a website to get their results.

The question now isn’t just whether the taunting in 2020 was enough to justify the new emphasis, but whether the league will swing the pendulum back too far in the opposite direction.

A witness to an incident last week involving MyPillow chief executive Mike Lindell says he saw no reason for Lindell to claim he was attacked at a South Dakota hotel. Lindell, who was in Sioux Falls hosting an election fraud symposium, told The Associated Press on Tuesday his encounter with a man seeking a photo late Wednesday left him doubled over in pain. Lindell said he has filed a report of an assault with the Sioux Falls Police Department and is conducting his own investigation into how the photo-seeker could have shoved an object between his ribs, leaving him unable to move his right arm.
