Whoa! Did you watch swimming in primetime yesterday? Star of the Games Caeleb Dressel pulling off an Olympic record setting time in the men’s 100 free was a huge highlight.
But the biggest stunner of the night had the world asking... where did HE come from?? American Bobby Finke surprised the field of swimmers in the final seconds. If you missed it or want to relive it, click the image below. It’s a race worth sharing with friends!
By the way.... 21... that’s how many medals Team USA has claimed in swimming so far in Tokyo!
Tonight in primetime on KPRC 2, the Americans have a chance to rack up more medals. Reminder - this will be LIVE!
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Lilly King will be a gold medal contender alongside Annie Lazor in the women’s 200m breaststroke. Ryan Murphy will battle for his second consecutive gold medal in the men’s 200m backstroke. Other swimming events taking place this evening are the men’s 200m individual medley and women’s 100m freestyle.
It probably was pretty hard today to avoid seeing what happened in the women’s All-Around gymnastics final. If you managed to do it and are waiting to watch tonight, we won’t give anything away. Here are some intentionally vaguely named links regarding Americans Suni Lee and Jade Carey’s performances.
Track and field events are gearing up in Tokyo and tonight a Houstonian will be competing in the women’s 800m. We caught up with Raevyn Rogers before she left H-town for the Games. Tonight we’re lucky to be with her family as they watch her compete on the world stage. Their party decorations are certainly medal worthy!
Missouri City native Bryce Deadmon is also in the spotlight this evening as he races in the 400m relay.
In team sports, the U.S. women’s basketball team will be playing Japan at 11:40 p.m. Houston time.
And the U.S. women’s soccer team will take on the Netherlands in a quarterfinal match at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (Houston time again.) This is a rematch of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, which was won by the Americans.
If you’re a night owl or early bird, a lot of other events available to watch ONLINE. You’ll find the links for viewing using your cable provider account, HERE.
