Apple confirms four new iPhones, and a nasty surprise for iPhone 12 owners | ZDNet

CharlieINTEL.com 09 September, 2021 - 10:44am

It's amazing how much information can leak in advance of a new product release from filings. FCC filings are particularly good sources of information.

The filing under scrutiny here is for an updated version of the MagSafe charger, and it offers up some surprising details.

Also: iPhone 13: Sept. 14 event, release date, features, specs, and rumors

First off, we get confirmation that the charger is a 15W unit. I'd been hearing sketchy rumors that Apple might boost the power output to offer faster charging, but the filing claims a maximum power output of 15W.

The filing also lists new iPhones.

Four new iPhones, to be precise.

It is highly likely that these correspond to the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max (model numbers are reported to be A2628, A2645, A2634, and A2640 respectively).

The filing also has RF testing data for iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and these are all labeled at "legacy." This points to the likelihood of the 12 line being discontinued as soon as the iPhone 13 line is out (this wording on similar FCC filings in the past, as well as how Apple has refreshed the iPhone line in previous years).

It's possible that the iPhone 12 base model may take over from the iPhone 11 as a stop gap in the line, but there have been speculation that Apple is planning to tidy up and streamline the iPhone lineup in order to focus production on the newer handsets and keep the constraints mentioned in the last financial earnings call to a minimum.

Rather shocking downgrade for a product that Apple continues to list as "new" on its website.

When does Black Ops Cold War Season 6 start? Date, time, new maps, new guns, new Zombies map

CharlieINTEL.com 09 September, 2021 - 10:26am

Black Ops Cold War is gearing up for a Season 6 to bring to players. Here’s what we know about its start date, maps, guns, and more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has had quite the journey since its November 13, 2020 release date. After only launching with eight 6v6 maps, one round-based Zombies mode, and a handful of Fireteam maps, the game has evolved superbly.

With the Cold War Season 5 Reloaded update, the game added its 23rd 6v6 map in Zoo, more content for Outbreak, and other cool stuff. Treyarch has endeavored to make Cold War a memorable game, and no one can argue that it’s lacking content.

Despite this, Call of Duty: Vanguard is now swiftly closing in, and even though Cold War is set to be the most content-rich CoD game after a new release, the community might need to accept that Season 6 could be the last full update.

If there’s one thing that Treyarch has proven to be excellent at, it’s keeping time. Each new update is pretty much advertised to coincide with the end of the Battle Pass.

The pass is due to expire on October 6, so unless another weird delay intervenes, then we’d expect Black Ops Cold War Season 6 to commence on October 7. It’s expected the Season 6 update would drop at 9PM PT / 11PM CT / 5AM BST.

Treyarch has done well to maintain a consistent stream of content across all of Cold War’s major game modes.

We would expect a late flourish of two or three new maps, both 6v6, and Gunfight, to go with the Season 5 additions of Slums, Drive-In, and Zoo.

With the odd exception of the Krig 6, LC10, and TEC-9, few weapons have properly dominated the game for long periods of time.

The meta has been quite reasonable, and there will almost certainly be one or two main guns to come to add to the likes of the EM2, and maybe a new melee weapon as well.

Die Maschine, Firebase Z, Mauer der Toten, Outbreak, and Dead Ops 3 have all offered a fabulous array of content to Zombies fans.

Treyarch has confirmed “the finale of the Black Ops Cold War saga in next season’s round-based map.” So as we get closer to the end of Season 5 we expect to have one or two cheeky details revealed to give us an idea of the send-off Zombies map for Cold War.

The Zombies story is also set to continue into Call of Duty: Vanguard too as Treyarch will be exclusively working on the game’s Zombies content, and it will progress the Aether story.

One thing that has made Black Ops Cold War so engaging to play has been the huge array of fresh playlist options on offer.

Season 5 has debuted Double Agent mode, and even the Reloaded update has brought back the classic Call of Duty game mode – Demolition. We wouldn’t be surprised to see one more cheeky surprise up Treyarch’s sleeves. There’s always a cool game mode variant to be enjoyed – as Vanguard has proven with its new Patrol mode.

It’s still quite soon after the launch of Black Ops Cold War Season 5 Reloaded, so there isn’t too much known or rumored about Season 6 just yet. When details start to creep through, we’ll be the first to let you know!

In the meantime, keep up to date with all the latest happenings with Black Ops Cold War here, and check out the latest news about Call of Duty: Vanguard too.

Warzone and Cold War’s plot will thicken with Season 5 Reloaded’s The Numbers event, so here’s how to earn the exclusive rewards.

Mysterious Red Doors appeared in Verdansk at the launch of Season 4, teleporting players to rooms filled with high-tier loot and Killstreaks. These doors started behaving more erratically in Season 5, bringing players to a mysterious corridor, dropping them from the sky, and even disappearing.

We may be about to get some answers about the Red Doors, with a midseason event, ‘The Numbers,’ arriving soon after Warzone and Cold War Season 5 Reloaded.

Here’s when the event will begin, its challenges, and the exclusive rewards you can earn.

Warzone Season 5 brought Mobile Broadcast Stations to Verdansk. These were relatively inactive at the start of the season but “seem to be stirring.” They’ll soon begin “amplifying the ‘Dragovich Program’ tapes – A.K.A. the Numbers broadcasts – across the region.”

For this event, players will need to investigate these Broadcast Stations and will earn a pile of rewards for doing so.

As part of the Season 5 Reloaded announcement, Call of Duty devs revealed that the event will kick off on September 21 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. However, there is no confirmation on when it will end.

This arrives a little under two weeks after the Season 5 Reloaded updates, that brought a new Warzone game mode and a ton of Zombies content to Cold War.

As this is a seasonal event, there will be nine challenges to complete in both Warzone and Cold War in order to earn exclusive rewards. Devs revealed that in Warzone, you must activate the Mobile Broadcast Stations, and the more you activate, the more rewards you’ll earn.

Also, as an in-game incentive to visit these Stations, you’ll get “An instant $5,000 Cash bonus in the current match” that you can spend on Loadouts, Killstreaks, or anything else to help you secure the win.

Even though the event is more tied to Warzone, there will also be nine challenges to complete in Cold War too. These will be centered around the new map and mode: Zoo and Demolition.

Call of Duty devs haven’t revealed all of the awards but teased that players will receive various cosmetic rewards for completing all of the challenges.

In Warzone, players will earn rewards “such as a Sticker, Calling Card, or Charm, in addition to some XP.”

In Cold War, players will unlock “even more cosmetic rewards,” as well as a new arcade game to play. They gave a hint for what the arcade game will be: “there are no Billy Club patches for those who play this retro arcade classic and hit 35,000 score or more.”

And for completing all nine The Numbers challenges in either Warzone or Cold War, you’ll unlock the Sai melee weapon. This is a dual-wield weapon that “allows for improved agility and fast attacks.”

That’s all we know about Warzone Season 5’s The Numbers event, but stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for all updates.

After a long wait, Cold War Zombies camos have finally arrived in Warzone as part of the Season 5 Reloaded update.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded is here, bringing brand-new game modes, The Numbers event, and significant weapon balancing. It also brought confirmation of a long-requested addition – Zombies Mastery Camos.

When Black Ops Cold War first integrated with Warzone in December 2020, fans who had grinded for the Cold War Zombies Mastery Camos – Golden Viper, Plague Diamond, and Dark Aether – were disappointed that they weren’t available in Warzone.

However, Raven Software confirmed in the Season 5 Reloaded update that all of the Zombies camos have finally arrived in Warzone.

Although not officially included in the Warzone Season 5 patch notes, devs Raven Software tweeted the Zombies camos arrival not long after the update dropped. This confirmed that all of the Zombies camos, including Mastery Camos, are now available in Warzone.

Because these are Cold War camos, they can only be applied to Cold War guns. And to earn them, you must either own Cold War or play in the occasional free weekend. From here, load into Zombies, and start grinding the camos.

However, Raven Software has acknowledged an issue that is stopping Zombies Mastery Camos from showing on certain weapons, including those from Season 5 such as the EM2. While all of the other Zombies camos are there, the three Mastery Camos aren’t available.

Raven confirmed that they’re investigating the issue, and will “provide an update soon.” Stay tuned to Charlie INTEL, as we’ll keep you updated on when Mastery Camos will be available for all weapons.

Applying Zombies camos in Warzone is simple, as the devs have added a new tab to the Camouflage selection screen.

The Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode is getting a new feature in Season 5 Reloaded that consists of a new Black Chest world event.

Call of Duty Zombies fans will be excited to hear that Season 5 Reloaded will bring a heap of new content into the undead mode.

Not only are players being given a new round-based map feature called the Rampage Inducer, but there is also new content for the Outbreak mode.

This new content includes a mysterious Black Chest World Event in Outbreak that offers an interesting new gameplay mechanic.

Outbreak is the popular Zombies mode that forces players to fight the undead across various large regions. The mode can be quite difficult, especially when it gets to later rounds and attempting the easter egg.

As well as a new region being added in Season 5 Reloaded, players may also stumble across the new Black Chest. For those wondering what it does, here are the details.

Outbreak players will be able to encounter the new Cold War Black Chest World Event, which offers an exciting protective effect that could be the difference between you and your teammates surviving or becoming lunch for the hordes of the undead.

Zombies players will be able to interact with this Black Chest world event and take on the challenge that is waiting inside of the Cold War Black Chest.

Players who complete the Cold War Black Chest event will “form a pact with a spirit that will be summoned against enemies when you’re low on health in your current Region,” according to the Season 5 Reloaded patch notes.

This ability works on a cooldown system, and its effect is shared with your teammates, so there is no doubt that it could be beneficial in your Outbreak success.

It seems the new Cold War Black Chest World Event will offer players a new way to continue the fight and survive when facing hoards of Zombies, as it looks to provide a very powerful ability as well, as not only does it come back for players to use again, it is also shared with teammates giving them extra aid in difficult situations as well.

This new feature will go live once the update is out, and we’ll update this piece on the kind of challenge you can expect upon opening the Black Chest and how to do it successfully.

How to Complete Warzone Red Door Easter Egg - Season 5 Reloaded

Gaming INTEL 09 September, 2021 - 08:46am

Call of Duty seems to love its Easter eggs, and Warzone is no exception to the rule. In the past, we’ve seen all manner of secrets to discover inside of Activision’s Battle Royale.

Now, with the introduction of Warzone Season 5 Reloaded, it looks as though there’s a new Easter egg to complete with the Red Doors. These mysterious locations are known for teleporting players around the map, but there’s more to the fast-travel system than meets the eye.

In what appears to be a hint at the upcoming Warzone Numbers event, there’s a new Easter egg to uncover.

You’ll have to be quick to earn that Calling Card though! It seems that you can only complete the new Warzone Easter egg in the first 2 minutes of the match, before the first circle begins.

Right now, we’re unsure if this is the full Easter egg or perhaps part of The Numbers event that’s leaking early.
