Will Smith has admitted he is in the 'worst shape of his life' after months of lockdown restrictions.

The actor, 52, took to Instagram and shared a snap of himself in his underwear as he told how he had gained weight in recent months.

The film star is used to being in excellent shape for his roles in action films like I, Robot and I Am Legend.

Honest: Will Smith has admitted he is in the 'worst shape of his life' after months of lockdown restrictions

Will shared a photo of himself sporting dark shorts and an open hoodie that showed his stomach and chest.

Alongside the post, he wrote: 'I'm gonna be real wit yall - I'm in the worst shape of my life'.

Several of Will's celebrity pals commented on the snap and insisted he still looked great.

Questlove wrote: 'This is the most amazing post in the history of social media,' while Ava DuVarney said: 'I see no "worst" here'.

Singer Sonna Rae added: 'You're Will Smith! You can be in whatever shape you want,'  while meme creator Tank Sinatra said: 'Let me be real with you. You're 52. You look great.'

It comes after Will's daughter Willow Smith recently revealed she is polyamorous on a recent episode of Red Table Talk.

The 20-year-old made the admission while speaking to her mother Jada Pinkett Smith and her grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris.

She explained: 'With polyamory, I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you and not just stepping into monogamy because that's what everyone around you says is the right thing to do.'

Fitness: Alongside the post, he wrote: 'I'm gonna be real wit yall - I'm in the worst shape of my life' (pictured on holiday in 2014)

'So I was like, how can I structure the way that I approach relationships with that in mind? Also, doing research into polyamory, the main reasons why monogamous relationships - or why marriage - why divorces happen is infidelity.'

Willow - who practices ethical non-monogamy, meaning that all partners give consent to being polyamorous - was met with resistance from her grandmother who said: 'For somebody like me, it feels like it's really all just centered around sex.'

The star then gave her 'Gammy' an example of a couple who might have opposite appetites for sex.

She said: 'Are you gonna be the person to say, you know: "Just because I don't have these needs, you can't have them either?"'

Admission: It comes after Will's daughter Willow Smith recently revealed she is polyamorous on a recent episode of Red Table Talk

'And so that's kind of one of the reasons why I actually was interested in poly because I was introduced to it through kind of a nonsexual lens.

'In my friend group, I'm the only polyamorous person, and I have the least sex out of all of my friends.'

Willow - who said the 'history of marriage really irks me' - found a more open, compassionate listener in her mother Jada.

'I'm okay with whatever you do,' Jada said. 'When you were like, "Hey, this is my get down." I was like, "I totally get it."

Candid: The 20-year-old said: 'I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you'

'Wanting to set up your life in a way that you can have what it is that you want, I think anything goes as long as the intentions are clear.'

Willow's 'coming out' was not a revelation as she already confessed she was bisexual and polyfidelitous (a form of non-monogamy) two years ago on her weekly Facebook Watch series.

'I love men and women equally and so I would definitely want one man, one woman,' the Calabasas native said at the time.

Resistance: Willow was met with resistance from her grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris (left) but her mother Jada was more understanding

'I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people. I'm not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences.

'I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don't feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.'

Since 2017, Willow has been in what appears to be a monogamous relationship with Tyler Cole, whom she met through her big brother Jaden.

Will Smith Launching Docuseries About His Quest To Get Jacked Again

UPROXX 04 May, 2021 - 05:20pm

However, it appears there may have been an ulterior motive for Smith sharing his dad bod on Instagram. On Tuesday, his production company Westbrook Media announced a collaboration with YouTube Originals for a six-episode unscripted series that will follow Smith as he gets back in shape. Via Billboard:

The press release describes the series, tentatively titled Best Shape of My Life, as “the fun, funny, inspirational, wildly adventurous, and deeply entertaining story of Smith challenging himself to improve every aspect of his fitness, from agility to power to recovery and more.” Helping the star on his fitness journey will be pro athletes, scientists, experts and YouTube creators.

After this announcement, it’s kind of hard not to view Smith’s Instagram photo as a little bit of shameless self-promotion. But that’s a skill that’s going to come in handy if the actor follows through on his recent claim that he sees himself becoming a politician “at some point down the line.” However, he’s not in a hurry after four years of Donald Trump. “I think for now I’ll let that office get cleaned up a little bit,” Smith joked to the Pod Save America crew.

‘I’m in the worst shape of my life’ – Superstar Gets Real - Gulte

Gulte 04 May, 2021 - 03:30pm

Being fat is never a choice. Yet people ridicule you and make your existence unworthy for gaining weight. However, American actor Will Smith’s honest photo today will make you believe in acceptance.

In a world, where celebrities pictures are heavily photoshopped and edited, Will Smith shared an honest waterside picture of himself, clad in an open hoodie, showing his chest and belly in. “I’m gonna be real wit yall – I’m in the worst shape of my life.”

The 52-year-old actor, who is eminently known for his 6-packs and muscular body, is seen with a not-so-great chiselled torso. Yet he is seen smiling in the picture and his overwhelming smile makes us smile!

His films like ‘I Am Legend and ‘Suicide Squad, have him in an extremely fit body and people look up to him in terms of fitness. But the actor made us comprehend that the body is not an apology and it’s okay to eat a heavy meal every now and then.

Netizens and fans thanked Smith for his honesty and noted that it’s “important for people to understand that even famous people don’t have a ‘perfect’ body”. “You’re a real one for this,” commented YouTuber Casey Neistat while musician Ahmir Khalib Thompson wrote: “This is the most amazing post in the history of social media.”

Will Smith is feeling a bit down on his body.

The movie star took to Instagram on Monday to share a shirtless photo of himself smiling while outside near a pond. In the snap, the actor is wearing nothing but a black pair of slippers, tight short shorts and a blue track jacket with no shirt on underneath.

Although he’s making a candidly goofy face, the actor captioned the photo by noting that he feels a bit off in the photo.

"I’m gonna be real wit yall," the former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star wrote in the caption. "I’m in the worst shape of my life."

As E! News noted, it didn’t take long before Smith’s celebrity friends took to the comments of the post to encourage him that his body is just fine, including his former co-star Nia Long, reality star Jenni "JWoww" Farley, director Ava DuVernay and musicians Questlove and Steve Aoki.

Smith has previously discussed the insecurity he sometimes feels showing himself shirtless after spending so many years being in peak movie star shape.

In his Facebook Watch series, "Bucket List," the entertainer got real about alcohol use and his weight while training for a half-marathon in 2019.

"I think of all the bucket lists, this is the one I'm most concerned about. Like, in my deepest honesty with myself, I really am not sure if I can run 13 miles," he admitted. "Being this far out of shape is kind of a little bit new for me. I didn't drink for over a decade."

"During my rise as a movie star, I was, like, wildly disciplined, so being in this place in my life, even something as simple as taking my shirt off while I'm out of shape, like, you know, this for me now allowing myself to be seen less than optimally is new," Will added.

While training for his role as Deadshot in the 2016 "Suicide Squad" film, Smith told Men’s Journal that his workout regimen was so intense that he suffered an injury to his leg.

"When you're 47 years old, no injury is a mild injury anymore," the actor added at the time. "I was stepping back to throw a blow, and my calf popped. Everyone heard it. The doctor there told me that I was going to be down for six weeks, but I couldn't allow that."
